Not only has President Obama officially represented himself as "My Brother's Keeper," in his latest program to somehow encourage young Black and Hispanic Men to become more respectable in society, the President, Homeland Security, and Eric Holder have also become more protective of illegal aliens, many of whom, are  nothing more than drug mules supplying a gigantic network of heroin users in the United States. The President and Democrats have taken extraordianary (illegal) measures to add illegals to the Dem voter rolls, despite the fact that they have helped heroin use to become the latest national drug epidemic. Regardless...

The progressive left, headed by President Obama, loves to talk about being on the right side of history. Go back five years and these people talked about making history, now they’re talking about being on the right side of it. Putin is on the wrong side of history when it comes to Ukraine, the right side of history isn’t entirely clear. Syria’s use of chemical weapons was the wrong side of history, opposing it the right side. Supporting homosexual marriage and other special rights for homosexuals is the right side of history, opposing them the wrong. When it comes to...

In January, 2000, Malaysia’s capital was where key members of Al Qaeda held their “Kuala Lumpur summit” to plan the bombing of the USS Cole that October, as well as the later attacks of 9/11/01. In light of this, and other facts pointing to Kuala Lumpur playing host to a hotbed of Islamic terrorists over the years, the baffling mystery of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 provokes renewed scrutiny of Kuala Lumpur in fostering international terrorism to date. In this context, Malaysia’s Islamic government and prevailing majority Mohammedan culture comes across as either grossly incompetent, or even somewhat...

Deputy Speaker Susanne Eberstein of the Social Democrat party ordered the painting, “Juno” by baroque artist G.E. I posted this as Putin's Kiss yesterday, and it only got one hit. Maybe if I post its title as a movie on Netflix that might stir more interest, because like the Lives of Others, this movie/documentary is well worth watching. The parallels between Russian society and ours is not only instructive but frightening, and I wish our leftist youth could see themselves as Masha in Putin's Kiss. It's that time of the week again where we look among all the deserving idiots and pick our Jerk of the Week. This week was packed with the usual suspects of President Obama, John Kerry, Michael Bloomberg, and many others. I had almost decided to pick Lebron James and other celebrities shilling for ObamaCare (which they'll never have to use being wealthy themselves), but in the final tally, the winner was Bob Costas. For his continued anti-Second Amendment rants and utter hypocrisy, he is our Jerk of the Week. The far left leanings of Bob Costas became painfully apparent in...

You can't get blood out of a rock. Traditionally the United States has had a consumer-driven economy, but now years of declining incomes and rising debts are really starting to catch up with us. In order to have an economy that is dependent on consumer spending, you need to have a large middle class. Unfortunately, the U.S. middle class is steadily shrinking, and unless that trend is reversed we are going to see massive economic changes in this country. For example, in poor neighborhoods all over America we are seeing bank branches, car dealerships and retail stores close down at...

The White House is hoping young people will come to President Obama’s aid one more time over ObamaCare, just as they did when they supported him strongly in both his presidential election victories. The administration is engaged in an all-out push to increase young people’s enrollment in ObamaCare with just two weeks left before the deadline to acquire insurance. Young people have signed up at a significantly lower rate than the administration had hoped, raising fears among Affordable Care Act advocates. The fewer young and healthy people sign up, the higher premiums are likely to rise for older people for...

Texas prosecutors are applauding a decision by the State Court of Criminal Appeals which provides police officers a second chance to present evidence which has been gathered contrary to Texas law and the 4th Amendment. The ruling literally offers law enforcement a “do-over;” an opportunity to secure a search warrant AFTER a home has been illegally searched and AFTER evidence has been improperly obtained. In 2010, police in Parker County, Texas received a call from a confidential informant (CI) who claimed that Fred Wehrenberg and a number of associates “were fixin’” to cook meth. Hours after the call–at 12:30 A.M...

One thing that would cause them to pause [halt their knee-jerk barbarism] was being called nekulturny. No matter how uncouth and barbaric a Russian is by nature, they are very sensitive to being called on it. There has been an ongoing debate in the Utah legislature about the open carry of firearms.   Some people have been arrested for openly carrying holstered firearms.  Open carry is legal in Utah.  The charge has been, as it was in Wisconsin five years ago, "Disorderly Conduct". Disorderly conduct tends to be a catchall phrase that is used to crack down on conduct that is not illegal, but that the police disapprove of.  Being arrested can be a significant punishment.   The Wisconsin AG eventually ruled that openly carrying a firearm is *not* disorderly conduct by itself.   Police departments paid out...

Secession is a word we have not heard much about for a while. Past secession movements have centered on grievances over tolls and taxes which are not items people have been willing to fight out to the bitter end. Those movements failed because local and state governments eventually addressed the would-be secessionists’ demands. Today there are several secession movements brewing in various diverse parts of the country, but each one centers on a much more important issue: The personal freedoms and liberties of We The People. By all reckoning We The People are deadly serious about wanting to break away...

The history of the Church testifies to the truth that men have...
  • WV:Reform of Charleston Second Amendment Restrictions goes to Governor

Charleston, West Virginia passed a number of local ordinances restricting second amendment rights at the height of the gun control craze during the Clinton regime.  These ordinances were primarily symbolic, in that they only applied to Charleston, were easily evaded, and primarily inconvenienced Charleston residents. When West Virginia reformed its concealed carry law to move toward recognition of the right to be armed, it grandfathered the Charleston restrictions as a political compromise.  The restrictions never made any sense except as a demonstration of the power of local governments to ignore second amendment protections. Second amendment supporters in West Virginia...

This christian school was raffling off a number of guns and other prizes.  It was pleasant to see a school that was not caught up in the government enforced anti-second amendment indoctrination that has been common since the Clinton regime. While the top two prizes were either a vacation or a diamond ring, six of the 12 prizes were firearms, from a Tikka T3 in 300WSM to a Henry .22.   I bought a ticket on general principles, because I support independent schools and because rewarding good behavior brings more of it. This sort of cultural activity is exactly why...

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) plans to introduce legislation to prevent a “takeover” of the Internet by the United Nations or another government regime. Speaking Monday at Google’s office in Washington, the possible presidential contender said he will introduce legislation to codify U.S. support of an open Internet as other countries attempt to control its growth. “Since the Web is worldwide — and since it has proven such an effective catalyst for pro-democratic revolution — it has become a battleground that many fight to control,” he said.

"But the purpose of prayer," wrote Bill Buckley, "surely, is to stress the great divisions between the material and the supernatural condition, not to gloss over them." Indeed, though it seemed in recent days that the chasm between the material and supernatural has grown so great that not even a multi-million dollar congressionally funded bridge to nowhere and back could connect the distant shores. I'm not Catholic, (though I am doing some reading on the faith), so I'm unfamiliar with the specialties of the various saints. I know there is a patron saint for traveling, another for the military, and...

Listen to an audio version of this column The title of the column caught my eye: "Why Are Christians the World's Most Persecuted Group?" It was linked from the Middle East Forum website at Matt Barber's cool, new site, From the title of the column, written by Raymond Ibrahim, I thought that maybe he had laid out the bottom line truth of why Christians, along with Jews, are indeed the most reviled and persecuted people on Earth. But he didn't. His column made three points in answer to his title's question. He wrote that Christians are the most persecuted...
  • Academic Malpractice and "Gun Violence"

The label "gun violence" has become epidemic in the debate about firearms law and the second amendment.  "Gun Violence" is a propaganda metric designed to win the debate in public discourse about the second amendment.  It accomplishes this by defining the terms in a way favorable to gun prohibition efforts.   Here is a example to illustrate this, using hospitals. No one favors people dieing in hospitals.  Why would anyone want someone to die in a hospital?  Therefore, we can create a legislative solution to hospital deaths.   We can prevent nearly all hospital deaths with a simple law.  All we...
