To the Editor: Leon Klinghoffer, our father, was one innocent civilian among thousands who were murdered under the rule of Yasir Arafat and the P.L.O. As a family who has unfortunately been touched by Mr. Arafat's terrorism, we find that our only solace in his death is that he cannot kill anyone ever again. It is mind-boggling that some would view him as a diplomat, martyr, hero and even a peacemaker. This is definitely not how we know him to be. To us, Mr. Arafat will always be a murderer and a terrorist; and one less terrorist on this earth...

On Tuesday, October 26, over 500 supporters of President Bush gathered outside the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Field House to protest an appearance by Michael Moore. Moore, who was paid for by IUP student activities fees, was visiting IUP as part of his national "Slackers Uprising Tour". Rhonda Goodrich, Courtney Adams, the IUP College Republicans, and the Indiana County Young Conservatives organized the event, and were extremely pleased with the turnout. The counter protest to Michael Moore was so effective that even Moore himself had to mention the crowd outside. "I have never seen anything like this," Moore told the...

The Irony is that Kerry is opposed to the Patriot Act on civil liberty grounds at the same time he is trying to deprive a group of patriots of their freedom of speech. Whatever names Kerry's surrogates call the swiftboat vets in the coming days, I'm sure it won't be as bad as what he called them on the Senate Floor and in his book.
-
Have you noticed the typical mainstream media and their handling of the Swift Boat affair? Chris Matthews has Max Cleland on his show. Now what the heck does Max know about the SwiftVets? NOTHING! Then he has Willie Brown and Michelle Maulkin on together. Matthews slimes Maulkin and doesn't let her talk at all, but a stop watch to it if you don't believe me. He let's Willie run his mouth uninterrupted. Willie doesn't know anything about the SwiftVets or Kerry's lies, neither does Michell at this point in time, however, this woman is a tremendous researcher and she will...

Governor McGreevey has made it official. Homosexuality has now become the ne plus ultra of excuses for debased and ammoral behaivior. If society were nicer to gay people, McGreevey would never have been forced to keep his marital infidelities a state secret. He could have made like (B)ill Clinton and bragged. McGreevey's homosexuality was news to most of New Jersey. This includes his fair-haired wife and his children. This also includes a number of Democratic Politicians who are avoiding McGreevey the way Superman runs from krptonite. Sen. Corzine is smelling the blood like a shark in pursuit of a wounded...

French Filmmaker Takes Own Stab at Bush PARIS (Hollywood Reporter) - When "Fahrenheit 9/11" was selected for the Cannes Film Festival, another documentary about George W. Bush was waiting in the wings in case Michael Moore's film wasn't ready in time. "The organizers were keen to include our film in the Official Selection but felt it was politically incorrect to have two anti-Bush documentaries at Cannes," says Jean-Francois Lepetit, whose Flach Film produced "Le Monde Selon Bush" (The World According to Bush).Directed by seasoned documentary maker William Karel, the 90-minute film could scarcely be more different to Moore's Palme d'Or...

Reaction to Democratic Presidential candidate Howard Dean’s reference to an allegation that President George W. Bush had advance warning of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks ranged from caustic to cool. While Washington Post commentator Charles Krauthammer questioned Dean’s sanity — in a column that also noted the apparently widespread indifference to his remarks — Dean and his competitors in the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination were silent. The comment by the former Vermont governor came during a broadcast last Monday of the Diane Rehm Show on National Public Radio. Rehm asked: “Why do you think he (President Bush)...

A circuit court judge today denied a last-ditch effort by the parents of a disabled woman to reinsert a feeding tube that was disconnected by her husband. Supporters of Bob and Mary Schindler said the writ of mandamus would direct Gov. Jeb Bush to intervene in the case of Terri Schiavo. Leon County Circuit Court Judge Jonathan Sjostrom quickly rejected the writ. Randall Terry, the anti-abortion activist who has taken up the Schindlers' cause, said the legal move was made by the Schindler's attorneys in hopes it would give Bush legal standing to intervene. The governor has been sympathetic to...

The attacks in Saudi Arabia and Morocco have set off another round of hand-wringing by people who seemingly can't stand the thought that the U.S. might be winning the war against al Qaeda. What is not clearly understood, even by some supporters of the Bush administration's efforts, is that the most recent bombings — like the bombing in Bali several months ago — are signs of al Qaeda's weakness, not its strength. Before the Bali bombing several months ago, Indonesia — the largest Islamic country in the world — was aggressively hostile to the idea that al Qaeda, or any...
