Austin police have charged a woman with injury to a child after they said she repeatedly fed her 3-year-old daughter human waste, causing her potentially life-threatening infections. An arrest affidavit said that a surveillance video at Dell Children’s Medical Center captured Emily Beth McDonald, 23, on Sunday placing feces in her daughter’s feeding tube. CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —  The Veterans Affairs Department is investigating whether there's a link between a patient's positive HIV test and unsterilized equipment that may have exposed thousands of veterans to infectious diseases. McALESTER (AP) — An Antlers woman is facing a charge of attempted maiming in which prosecutors say she tried to pull out the eye of a motel maid in McAlester. Twenty-six-year-old Tommie Sue Cofflet is accused of attacking the maid after the group she was with was asked to leave the motel. Court documents say Cofflet held the maid in a headlock and began digging at her eye and caused severe trauma to the left eyeball. Prosecutors did not immediately return a phone call for comment.
