The suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a rookie Kentucky state trooper this weekend has died after being shot by authorities, state police said on Monday. Kentucky State Police found the suspect, Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks, 25, of Missouri, in a wooded area close to Interstate 24, near where he allegedly shot the trooper after a car chase, police said. Johnson-Shanks had aimed his gun at troopers and refused to drop it, leading one to shoot him, officials said. Johnson-Shanks died at a medical center in Princeton, Kentucky.

State Police are responding to reports a gunman fired on a Millis cruiser Wednesday afternoon. Shots were fired at a Millis Police cruiser Wednesday afternoon, the Massachusetts State Police announced. A gunman reportedly fired at the cruiser on a Millis street just before 3 p.m. Police officials say the cruiser caught fire after being shot at. The bullet that struck an Atlanta-area police officer — hit after responding to a burglary call at the wrong house — likely came from a fellow officer's gun, investigators said Tuesday. A man who was shot by an NYPD officer in a bungled attempt at a gun bust died Saturday morning. Felix Kumi, 61, was hit by several rounds after an undercover cop missed his target and hit him instead.
