This is totally non-political, and totally pro-Dog. I need your insights on what can MAKE a dog Sneeze! We do “breed rescue”. Our current foster, “Vinnie , the basset” is seizure-prone. We’ve seen a Doggy sneeze end seizures in our prior pooches. Any Freeper’s remembered hints on what household items might induce a seizured Basset to Sneeze, post and send direct to Jwilson571@cox.net. Irish Spring soap works on our Boxer , but not on “Vinnie”.

WASHINGTON, DC, October 5, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, yesterday released new documents obtained from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, detailing a total of as many as eleven deaths related to Merck's HPV vaccine Gardasil.  Those deaths resulted between June 8, 2006 - when the vaccine received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) - and August 2007 when the latest data was available. The adverse reports coming from the HPV vaccine are increasing daily at...

Farms seizure warning in South Africa By Mike Pflanz in Nairobi Last Updated: 2:30am BST 17/09/2007 Farmers in South Africa have been warned that they could have their land taken from them unless they stop "abusive" policies towards workers. Most highly productive farmland in South Africa is still in the hands of white farmers. While the government has enacted a "restitution" policy of handing plots to blacks under a willing buyer, willing seller system, critics have said progress has been too slow. While the situation is far from that witnessed in neighbouring Zimbabwe, tensions have soared recently over alleged illegal...

Despite his quick recovery from the seizure he suffered on Monday, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. faces a complex diagnosis and a difficult decision. Because the seizure was his second — he had a similar one in 1993 — he meets the criteria for epilepsy, and he and his doctors will have to decide whether he should take medication to prevent further seizures, said neurologists not involved in his care. (Neither the chief justice nor his doctors would comment yesterday.) The decision will involve weighing the risk of more seizures against the risk of side effects from the drugs....

Epileptic seizures sparked by tooth brushing 09:00 06 March 2007 NewScientist.com news service Rachel Nowak “Brushing your teeth is very rhythmic. Our idea is that it causes a rhythmic over-activity in the brain, which feeds back on itself – similar to the effect of strobe lighting on people with photosensitive epilepsy,” says neurologist Wendyl D’Souza of St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, one of the team reporting the cases. Epilepsy occurs when nerve cells in an area of the brain fire more rapidly than usual and in synchrony with one another. This causes seizures that range from “grand mal” seizures...

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is encouraging American Muslims making a religious pilgrimage to Mecca to file civil rights complaints if they feel discriminated against by airlines. CAIR, citing what it called the "airport profiling" of six imams removed from a recent flight, said Muslims traveling this month to the holy site in Saudi Arabia need to be aware of their rights. "Jihad is the sacred right of all Muslims,” said CAIR spokesman, Hakim Slaughter. “The U.S. Constitution guarantees against government interference with the free exercise of one’s religion. How can a Muslim make war against infidels if he...

The Fourth Amendment to our Constitution protects Americans against "unreasonable searches and seizures" and against warrants being issued without "probable cause" that they have done something wrong. While most Americans who might be familiar with this portion of our Bill of Rights probably consider its protections to apply only to criminals and therefore of little consequence to them, the Fourth Amendment actually provides vital protection to all Americans, not just "criminals." In fact, its prefatory language makes this clear, explicitly providing that its goal is to assure that the "right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses,...

Urgent prayer is needed for my pastor's family. This week, he just got over a viscious cold. Today, his wife and three children were throwing up. One of the twin daughters, 16 months old, needed to go to the hospital. She is having multiple siezures. Fortunately, the shortness is not causing permanent damage, according to the doctors. This man and his family love the Lord. Please keep them in your prayers and I will keep you informed of any developments. Specifically pray that God will heal the daughter, and no permanent damage is done. Pray that the whole family heals...

SACRAMENTO, Calif.— Agents have seized more than $2.6 billion worth of marijuana plants this year, already surpassing last year's season total by 20 percent, authorities said. The state Department of Justice's annual Campaign Against Marijuana Planting, or CAMP, is still a month away from wrapping up operations after the season peak at the end of September. The raids, many in remote, forested terrain, pit agents against often heavily armed guards protecting their marijuana plots. About three weeks ago, a grower was shot dead and a state Fish and Game warden was wounded during a raid on a 22,000-plant pot farm...

Last month the U.S. Supreme Court, in the Connecticut case of Kelo vs. New London, gave local governments the power to seize the homes of property owners and give the land to private companies. Florida Attorney General Charles Crist and other sources have been quoted as saying that Floridians don’t have to worry about this decision because state law provides greater protection for private-property owners than the U.S. Constitution or Connecticut law. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Florida’s Community Redevelopment Act that allows “blighted” areas to be condemned by local governments under eminent domain gives public entities unbridled discretion in...

(AP) At least twelve dozen people were arrested Saturday as about a hundred federal agents and other law enforcement officers raided what they said may have been the largest cockfight in the country. Several SWAT teams, helicopters and dozens of state troopers participated in the raid Saturday on the sprawling Del Rio Cockfight Pit in Cocke County, Tennessee. They seized about $40,000 in cash and killed more than 300 roosters. "Reputedly, this was the largest cockfight in the United States," said District Attorney Al Schmutzer Jr. "It was becoming open and notorious, and you just can't stand back and let...

The point is to negotiate, have a dialogue and an agreement so that we can make headway in the two subjects that, as...

CASES It was 5:30 in the morning. I noticed an elderly man being whizzed into the emergency department on a stretcher. What was unusual were his movements. He seemed to occupy a fourth dimension, oscillating in several directions at the same time. The year was 1956, and I was a fledgling intern, working in the emergency room at a hospital in New York, trying to survive the 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. shift. This was my first encounter with a patient who was having continuous convulsions, and I was stunned into inaction. Finally, I was dislocated from my paralysis by...

Dogs can predict epileptic seizures 21:00 21 June 04 NewScientist.com news service Some dogs can predict when a child will have an epileptic seizure, a new study has revealed. These dogs not only protect their charges from injuries, such as falling, but also seem to help kids deal with the daily struggle of epilepsy. Nine of the 60 dogs in the study (15 per cent) were able to predict a seizure by licking, whimpering, or standing next to the child. These dogs were remarkably accurate - they predicted 80 per cent of seizures, with no false reports. However, those interested...

CHP Undertakes Investigation SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Reports of document shredding at the California Department of Information Technology prompted a California Highway Patrol investigation and the seizure of a large trash receptacle by Department of Justice agents, adding new intrigue to a growing Capitol scandal over a software contract with the Oracle Corp. The growing scandal prompted Republican calls for the U.S. Attorney's Office to step in. They want an investigation into a six-year, $95 million software contract with Oracle.
