Outgoing US President George Bush telephoned President Shimon Peres bidding him farewell on the occasion of the end of Bush's term as president Tuesday. Peres said to Bush, "If the world had acted against Hitler the way you acted against Saddam Hussein, the lives of millions would have been saved." The president added, "You made a historic contribution to the entire world and to the Jewish people in particular. We will treasure this forever and will never forget it."

BAGHDAD — In the 1990s, Saddam Hussein drained Marsh Arab wetlands in southern Iraq to punish locals who had provided refuge to rebels. The results devastated entire villages whose economies relied mainly on the fishing industry. Years later, water is flowing back to the wetlands, but the fish population is still depleted. Multi-National Corps—Iraq’s agricultural team is collaborating with the Iraqi government in an effort to revitalize the fishing industry in areas where the fish population was decimated. For the next month, the MNC—I C9 agricultural team and Iraqi biologists will go fishing in Victory Base Complex’s lakes, including the...

Dr. Joseph Goebbels, the notorious Nazi propaganda minister, once said if you repeat a lie often enough, the people will come to believe it. One of the biggest lies perpetuated by the DemocRATS in recent years is that "Bush lied, people died" with respects to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's WMD programs. I am currently reading "Shadow Warriors: The Untold Story of Traitors, Saboteurs, and the Party of Surrender" by Kenneth R. Timmerman. On page 119, Timmerman writes the following: "In his interim report to a joint session of the House and Senate intelligence committees on October 2, 2003, David Kay...

In May 1988, a prison guard checked Taymour Abdullah Ahmad's name off a list and directed him to a bus idling in the Popular Army camp in Topzawa, southwest of Kirkuk. The camp was one of Iraq's grimmest prisons. During his month-long internment there, the 12-year-old Kurdish boy watched guards beating male prisoners senseless with lengths of coaxial cable. He had seen four children weaken and then die of starvation. He stood helplessly as a guard stripped his father to his undershorts and led him off to his death. So Taymour was not sorry to see the last of Topzawa....

I would like to devote my time to research and post such research that would put to rest any doubts or misinformation about the validity of a link between Iraq's leadership under Saddam Hussein and the Al Qaeda terrorist network. What I need most is links or references to official documents, relevant source non-biased source materials, and or confirmed quotable information. What isn't needed are posts from other conservative bloggers or "news" sites that are inherently biased towards defending their view. Any help would be appreciated.

The Associated Press today posted a story that is so utterly pointless for its very existence that it boggles the mind. Apparently, some loser Iraqi that used to be a somebody under Saddam Hussein's viciously murderous government has issued a "tape" whereupon he says that Israel would never have been so bold to have hit Gaza they way it has if Saddam were still in power. Of course, the very first question that comes to mind is... WHO CARES what some has been cutthroat has to say about Saddam "just hangin' around" Hussein? The man is dead, D-E-D dead! I...

Nearly six years after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, and two years after Saddam Hussein’s conviction and execution for slaughtering hundreds of thousands of his own citizens, the Islamic nation’s High Tribunal is trying to ensure Saddam’s memory is both clouded and preserved with a museum featuring artifacts of, and documents recounting, the myriad atrocities the former Iraqi dictator committed during his 24 years in power.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 5, 2009 – The U.S.-coalition military campaign that deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in the spring of 2003 has placed Iraq in a much-improved situation today, Vice President Richard B. Cheney said during a nationally televised news program yesterday. “I think Iraq is much better off than it was before we went in in ’03 and got rid of Saddam Hussein,” Cheney told host Bob Schieffer on the CBS program “Face the Nation.” “I think we are close to achieving most of our objectives,” he added. Violence and death in Iraq today are sharply down, Cheney said,...

...In the following years and the pain still piercing, Bakr Sidqi, the Baghdadi army's chief responding to the zealous cry of the new pan-Arab fascists organised the cold blooded massacre of innocent Assyrians with the watchful eye of Imperial Britain, because they dared to ask for the recognition of the Assyrian nationality and the Assyrian cultural rights within the newly formed regime. Betrayed and denied by Imperial Britain, the Assyrian national uprising was suppressed and the Assyrian rights' movement was pigeonholed. For the next decades and under various successive regimes the Assyrians were known by their religion as 'Christians' until...

Good and Evil... We can't wish for Iraqis more national unity than they wish for themselves, nor can we impose it on them. It is their country that is in the balance. It is they who must put behind them the age-old tyranny of the Sunni Arabs, and their pan-Arabism which was but a cover for sectarian hegemony...

Did Saddam's daughter, who looted millions from Iraq, secretly fund both the shoe thrower and the bungled coup attempt? New revelations in Iraq point to a possible link between the shoe thrower and the Iraqi Baathists who just made a botched attempt to topple the government of Nouri al-Maliki and return Saddam’s party to power. Reports in the Arab media indicate that the Iraqi shoe thrower, Muntather al-Zaidi may have been planning his assault on President Bush for more than a year, helped by Iraqi Baathists seeking to overthrow the U.S,-backed government. One leading Arab website said the al-Zaidi’s handlers...

Clinton talked. Bush acted. And now, a nation that was a constant threat to world peace has been transformed into an ally! What bugs me most about the debate over Iraq is the failure to consider what would have happened had we not taken the action we did. Viewing the 9 minute clip below of the speech President Clinton delivered on December 16, 1998 is a reminder of the constant menace that Saddam Hussein posed to the world and international efforts for peace.Imagine if Saddam were still in power today. The Oil for Food scandal which robbed his people to...

Five years ago this week, something remarkable happened, which has been conveniently forgotten: On December 13, 2003, one of history’s worst dictators, Saddam Hussein, was captured by U.S. troops. America awakened to the news on Sunday, December 14, as a grateful President George W. Bush readied for church. In fact, the secular left had become so ferocious, so emotional, and so uncharitable that Bush decided to skip church to avoid images of going to a house of worship just after Saddam’s capture. His staff feared a New York Times editorial with a title to the effect, “Bush Thanks Jesus After...

WASHINGTON — He is the man who tracked down the Ace of Spades: Saddam Hussein, the top card in the U.S. military's deck of cards, found crouching like a mole in a darkened spider hole under a trap door at the back of a farm in Tikrit. For the first time since the Army's 4th Infantry Division captured Saddam in a dramatic raid on Dec. 13, 2003, the U.S. intelligence officer who hunted him down has come forward with his story.

How legit is the theory that the wmd's were moved to syria? I mean we had photos of the evidence and everybody including russia and europe and even sadaam said he had weapons. I know saddam admitted he purposely made us believe he had wmd's to scare off iran from making a nuke program and he thought we would only do an airstrike. But has this scenario been debunked or not covered at all??

I had posted about this before. I wrote an article last March that was published on American Thinker. I just completed my book The Link: The Secret Relationship between Saddam and al Qaida. For more info: http://lfairmont.wordpress.com/ My agent is looking for a traditional publisher, but in the meantime I have self-published. The book is primarily sourced from Iraqi documents retrieved by the US military in Iraq. The media has suppressed the truth. I have Saddam talking about al Qaida being in Iraq in 1995. I have new evidence about WMDs and Saddam saying he gave the order for the...

Anyone hoping HBO’s new miniseries "House of Saddam" will make anti-warriors reconsider their stance on the Iraq invasion will be disappointed. No Oil for Food scandal mentions. Little talk of mass graves or torture chambers beyond a casual reference or two during news reports spliced into the story. Saddam, a joint venture between the pay cable giant and BBC Films, spends far more time dissecting the dynamics of the Hussein family than detailing his innumerous crimes against humanity. That’s not unforgivable for an entertainment channel project, especially since the miniseries includes a number of gripping sequences that bring the late...

Memories of Saddam's Horror. Those who prefer to put down the efforts of the heroes who serve their country or like to cast aside the historic surge that our military ran in Iraq; also like to point out that the weapons of mass destruction were not found. (which is a debatable point). Those Kings of the Kumbaya set like to point out that there were years if horror for our hero's in Iraq. What they ignore are the horrors that no longer exist. The chemicals that kill thousands of Kurds and the horrible torture by Saddam and his sons. The...

We won. The Iraq War is over. I declare November 22, 2008 to be "Victory in Iraq Day." (Hereafter known as "VI Day.") By every measure, The United States and coalition forces have conclusively defeated all enemies in Iraq, pacified the country, deposed the previous regime, successfully helped to establish a new functioning democratic government, and suppressed any lingering insurgencies. The war has come to an end. And we won. What more indication do you need? An announcement from the outgoing Bush administration? It's not gonna happen. An announcement from the incoming Obama administration? That's really not gonna happen. A...

Lost in the 2008 pre-election hysteria was a sobering piece of news out of Iraq. It was revealed, after a precisely-executed plan to maintain secrecy and prevent disclosure, that 550 Tons of Yellow Cake Uranium were shipped out of Iraq to Canada. Why is this event so spectacular? It proved beyond the wildest dreams of even the staunchest skeptic, that Saddam Hussein was clearly pursuring a Weapons of Mass Destruction program, and debunks the chorus of "Bush Lied" accusations from the Democrats. Further, it bolstered the claims of U. S. and British intelligence (which were presented to the United Nations)...

Dear Christopher, I was dismayed and profoundly disappointed -- and, on reflection, felt betrayed -- when I heard that you endorsed Barack Obama for president of the United States. For the 20-plus years I have known you, you have been nothing but generous towards me, and I am very fond of you and grateful for your friendship. Our main points of convergence have been my native Iraq, journalism, atheism and our roots in the Left. Your early detection of the nature of Saddam's fascist rule and your principled and stalwart advocacy for the liberation of Iraq - among many other...

Back in August, my colleague Deidre Woollard reported on a court ruling that Saddam Hussein's yacht Basra Breeze (formerly Ocean Breeze) belonged to the Iraqi government after a Cayman island firm partly owned by King Abdullah of Jordan claimed possession. Now the Iraqis have put the 269-ft. megayacht up for sale with a pricetag of $30 million, but the décor is so tacky and outdated it will require at least another $30 million to overhaul the ship, the London Times reports. Launched in 1981, the ship features acres of marble and gold, Arabesque arches, dark wood carvings, "deep pile carpets...

Barack Obama appears to have personally benefited from funds originating in Saddam Hussein's regime. It's a complicated connection, but one that deserves the consideration of Americans voters. Two similar figures, Nadhmi Auchi and Antoin S. "Tony" Rezko, served as the intermediaries. Both are Middle Eastern males of Catholic Christian heritage who left Baathist dictatorships for Western cities (Auchi from Iraq to London, Rezko from Syria to Chicago). Both became successful businessmen who hobnobbed with politicians and promoted Arab interests. Both have been convicted of taking kickbacks and both stand accused of other shady dealings. Auchi, born in 1937, is the...

Slide show of items found at Al-Tuwaitha nuclear research facility in the fall of 2003. In the fall of 2003 the US State Department along with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency undertook a mission to do cleanup at the Iraqi nuclear lab Al-Tuwaitha. This lab was subject to UN inspections however the UN teams were not able to fully inspect the site during the Saddam regime. This lab was one of the places from which Saddam's men were video recorded by satellite moving WMD material to Syria. The slide show shows what Saddam's men left behind in their haste to...

“I first began to fathom the extent of Nadhmi Auchi's reach and corrupting influence when I was given responsibility for monitoring illegal transfers of technology and munitions to Iraq as well as overseeing all coalition transportation and communications reconstruction in Iraq." ### Barack Obama has been appropriately strident in his condemnation of the mortgage-based financial corruption which nearly led to the collapse of the investment banking system in the United States. But there are some strong smelling financial skeletons in his own closet. Obama has his own personal housing crisis that is tied not into Fanny Mae, but into a...

ERS is still wondering, if its illegal to bring in “looted” items from Iraq, and someone has even been convicted of a crime for doing so -- why is it O-K for Lara Logan to be displaying a few of those same kind of items framed on her office walls at CBS News and have public media stories done about them without any US Customs people paying attention?. We don’t know yet for sure, but we’ll stay on the story until we find out!

For Iraqi Kurdish mathematics teacher Mohammed Aziz, two wrongs can make a right. After decades of forced exile by the Baath party of Saddam Hussein, he is back with a vengeance. Aziz was just four years old in 1975 when his family was evicted from Bawaplawi village, near the northern city of Khanaqin, and Arab settlers grabbed their home. Now schoolteacher Aziz is back and has done to the Arabs what they did to him. "Our homes were taken over by the Arabs without paying us any compensation," Aziz, 37, said at the modest single-storey brick house which he has...

The Democrats' essential argument on Iraq is that Saddam had absolutely nothing to do with Bin Laden. But what this argument overlooks is that Saddam offered Bin Laden safe haven in Iraq in late 1998 and/or 1999 -- the very timeframe during which 9/11 attacks were being planned. In fact, that was the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission Report, although it was all but ignored by the mainstream media.

Sarah and Saddam The pit bull with lipstick gave a rousing send-off to U.S. soldiers headed for Iraq: You are going to "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans." Guess what? The establishment reacted with horror! The Washington Post complained the governor did not understand that any idea Saddam Hussein had been involved in 9/11 was quite discredited, while the McCain camp rushed to explain she was speaking about al Qaeda in Iraq, rather than Saddam.

"I’ve already said it’s succeeded beyond our wildest dreams." Well, Barry... two men DID anticipate the success of the surge -- John McCain and General Petraeus. Do paired dates prove Iraq-al-Qaida connection? As proof, Aziz volunteered that Speicher was not among the POWs released...

"This is an interview conducted by freeper Chris Donohoe (April15bendovr) with freeper Joseph Shahda (jveritas) about Saddam regime WMD programs and their relations to terrorism based on his translations of some captured Saddam regime documents. Also he talks about some Al Qaeda-captured documents. On the WMD issue, Joseph Shahda reveals that the documents clearly indicate that the Saddam regime opted to build the precursors required to make chemical weapons rather than the final chemical weapons product. They did this for two reasons. First because these precursors are dual-use materials and Saddam could always claim that they are used for civilian...

WASHINGTON, Aug. 14, 2008 – Iraq was left behind in the information-technology revolution for 25 years under Saddam Hussein’s regime while the rest of the world moved on, a military official said this week. “You’re looking at a nation that has … suffered from 25 years of tyranny under Saddam Hussein and has not had the things that you and I take for granted,” Air Force Col. A new book by the author Ron Suskind claims that the White House ordered the CIA to forge a back-dated, handwritten letter from the head of Iraqi intelligence to Saddam Hussein. Suskind writes in “The Way of the World,” to be published Tuesday, that the alleged forgery – adamantly denied by the White House – was designed to portray a false link between Hussein’s regime and al Qaeda as a justification for the Iraq war. The author also claims that the Bush administration had information from a top Iraqi intelligence official “that there were no weapons of mass destruction in...

This was Lindauer’s first real opportunity to argue her competence to stand trial and deny the delusions claimed by court psychiatrists. She told him that a “massive” attack would occur in the southern part of Manhattan, involving airplanes and possibly a nuclear weapon. Remember Joe Wilson? He's the diplomat who went to Niger to investigate Bush administration claims that Saddam Hussein had tried to buy yellowcake uranium, a raw material used in building nuclear bombs, from Africa. It did not take long to conclude that it was highly doubtful that any such transaction had ever taken place." A story that has to be the most underplayed...

For years, the media and Democrats have sold the public an understanding that Gerorge W. Bush fabricated a story that Saddam Hussein had a WMD program in order to justify invading Iraq, which invasion then becomes "based on a lie." About 550 metric tons of yellowcake concentrated uranium were recently shipped out of Iraq. It had been part of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program. That much was recently reported by the Associated Press . I wrote an article for American Thinker that commented on that story the day it appeared. That yellowcake stockpile pre-dated 1991, and had been under the UN's...

Hear about the 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium found in Iraq? No? Why should you? It doesn't fit the media's neat story line that Saddam Hussein's Iraq posed no nuclear threat when we invaded in 2003.

550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium worth millions of dollars were shipped out of Iraq to Canada. The uranium was transported in 37 military flights in 3,500 secure barrels. Though the yellowcake had been in Iraq for some time and had been discovered by the United Nations inspectors after the first Gulf War in during the Senior President Bush’s presidency the material has finally been removed. This is a fact the Democrats don’t want publicized and the MSM will oblige.
