A white police officer in North Charleston, South Carolina has been charged with murder after video emerged of him shooting an unarmed black man in the back while he was trying to run away, reports the Charleston Post and Courier. On January 2, David W. Eckert was stopped by police in Deming, NM for running a stop sign. What happened next is extremely difficult to comprehend. Deming Police Officer Robert Chavez had Eckert exit his vehicle, and patted him down.
