  • Did the NFL indefinitely suspend Ray Rice because they saw the video or because we saw it?

Did the NFL suspend Ray Rice indefinitely after he was given an initial 2 game suspension because A.) they saw the video inside the elevator, or B.) because we saw the inside-the-elevator video? If it is because of A, then why did they formulate a 6 game suspension to be followed by banning for a second offense and not apply the 6 game rule to Ray Rice? If this is because the inside-the-elevator video surfaced, then will the NFL have a system for those who are caught by video and those not caught by video? In the end, IMHO, Ray...

One day after Ray Rice was cut loose from the Baltimore Ravens following the release of a video showing him striking and knocking out his then-fiancee, his wife is defending her husband and blasting the media for the pain caused to her family. In an Instagram post apparently written by Janay Rice, she said she felt like she was "mourning the death of my closest friend." "I woke up this morning, feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," Janay Rice wrote in the post. "But to have to accept the...

(CNN) -- Janay Rice, wife of suspended NFL player Ray Rice who was released by the Baltimore Ravens, apparently posted a statement Tuesday on Instagram calling the situation a "nightmare." "To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific (sic)," she wrote. The actions against Ray Rice were taken Monday after a video surfaced showing him knocking her out with a punch in February. The Instagram post, reported by various media, appeared to be authentic.

Now that everybody on Capitol Hill has weighed in on the Redskins name controversy, the men and women elected to represent the people have moved on to a new sports-related target: the NFL and Ravens running back Ray Rice. U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) sent letters to commissioner Roger Goodell calling for Rice to face a harsher punishment beyond the two-game suspension handed down by the league and considered too lenient by many critics.

President Obama appears reticent to help Israel stamp out Hamas once and for all because his administration is being run by a “Muslim Sisterhood,” nationally syndicated talk-host Michael Savage told his listeners.""With the likes of senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, U.N. Ambassador Stephanie Power and National Security Adviser Susan Rice guiding Obama’s foreign policy, America appears to be siding with the Muslim Brotherhood, the movement founded in Egypt in 1928 that seeks to bring the world under Islamic law and has spun off violent jihadist groups such as al-Qaida and Hamas. It was the Muslim Brotherhood that governed Egypt in the wake of...

Casey Cooper is new to the bench, but he’s well-connected . Just three months into his tenure on the federal bench, and before his formal investiture ceremony later this week, newly minted — but well-connected — U.S. District Judge Christopher “Casey” Cooper has been handed one of the most high-profile and politically sensitive American terrorism cases in recent years ... Cooper, 47, was part of the Obama administration’s transition team and is one of the more connected people in D.C. legal circles, Marimow notes. His wife, Amy Jeffress, worked at the Justice Department as a national security adviser to the...

July 16, 2014 (LocalOrg) - Corporate biotechnology monopolies like Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, and others have met increasing resistance to their attempts to patent and control global agriculture. They have spent untold fortunes attempting to sway the public but to no avail. Local, organic agriculture is growing in popularity and proliferating across all social-strata. The introduction of technology to automate and augment organic farming is making it as competitive and accessible or more so than the capital-intensive models of monopoly employed by big-ag. In response, big-ag has attempted several distasteful public relation stunts, including "super bananas for Africa" and "Golden Rice" to allegedly...

A University of California report has exposed the injustice that prohibits a genetically engineered additive to rice. Without it the death of millions of children has occurred, notably in Africa and India. The researcher opinion lays the blame for the international prohibition of producing golden rice through genetic engineering to powerful forces that hide behind environmentalism. California, of course, is one of the world’s major rice producers, ready to supply the vitamin enriched product, especially for export.

National Security Adviser Susan Rice’s comments that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl served with "honor and dignity" has amplified GOP criticism of President Obama's prisoner swap and undermined Rice’s credibility on Capitol Hill. Independent experts have cast doubt on Rice’s judgment, given questions about whether Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban after deserting his post in Afghanistan. Even allies of the White House are suggesting she stay off the Sunday talk shows. “When I saw her on TV making that honor and distinction comment it just seems so phony to me,” said Andrew J. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton insists “there will never be perfect clarity” or full agreement on everything that happened regarding the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya — but that does not mean a lack of effort on getting to the truth. “There will never be perfect clarity on everything that happened,” Mrs. Clinton writes in her book, “Hard Choices,” according to excerpts published by CBS News. “It is unlikely that there will ever be anything close to full agreement on exactly what happened that night, how it happened, or why it happened. But that should...

Belmont Club Books Archives Bio by Richard Fernandez Decoding Bergdahl June 5th, 2014 - 3:25 pm     inShare President Obama explained that he traded the Taliban 5 for Bowe Bergdahl because it’s what great men do. “This is what happens at the end of wars,” Obama said, speaking in Poland. That was true for George Washington, that was true for Abraham Lincoln, that was true for FDR.”  He forgot to add “then it is true for me”. Much is plain to those who walk in the footsteps of giants. Susan Rice, United States National Security Advisor under the Obama administration, said that Bowe Bergdahl 'served the United States with honor and distinction.' Sounds like praise to me. But Chuck Hagel, who said very recently that Americans should not pre-judge Bowe Bergdahl, seems to take one line with - I guess "regular" Americans - and another with Susan Rice. Hmmm... Should Hagel and Rice both say that Bowe Bergdahl should be neither judged nor praised until all the facts are in? Funny how some WH aides can accuse Bergdahl's fellow soldiers of 'swift boating,' but won't tell people to not...

In response to The White House doubles its bet on some bad cards: For no other reason other than morbid curiosity, I'd like to know who wrote the talking points for Susan Rice's appearances on the Sunday talk shows, yesterday. It's not like she had any more credibility to lose, but Rice told some whoppers, yesterday, possibly as Allahpundit notes at Hot Air, in a calculated attempt to set a false narrative, as "most voters will pay attention to this story for 48 hours after Bergdahl’s release and then tune out." Even as the truth was gushing out about the...

This weekend, White House national security adviser Susan Rice took a break from her busy schedule of scouring YouTube for blamable videos, and sat down with CNN’s Candy Crowley. You may remember Crowley as the “journalist” who likes helping floundering Democrat Presidents score points in political debates. Crowley wanted to know if, in fact, the United States had negotiated with terrorists in its effort to secure Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release. The short answer is “yes,” but this is the Obama administration. ...So you never get the short answer. “Point blank,” Crowley asked. “Did the US negotiate with terrorists for his...

U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice pushed back on Sunday against GOP claims that the administration negotiated with terrorists by transferring five Taliban prisoners in Guantanamo Bay to Qatar in exchange for the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl on Saturday. "I wouldn't put it that way," Rice said on CNN's "State of the Union" when asked if the exchange means that U.S. officials can no longer say they don't negotiate with terrorists. "Why didn't you notify Congress?" Crowley asked, referencing the law that requires the president to alert Congress in 30 days before transferring any prisoners from Guantanamo Bay....

Once seemingly destined to become secretary of state, Rice now holds a lower profile job at the White House, juggling one global crises after another for Obama and trying to insure that his broad list of foreign policy priorities doesn’t fall by the wayside in the widening storm of problems overseas. As President Barack Obama's national security adviser, she commands a suite of offices steps from the Oval Office and has more daily access to him than does Secretary of State John Kerry. Kerry travels the world and gets the headlines. Rice quietly orchestrates the foreign policy issues put on...
