It seems safe to assume that there’s little danger of a Massachusetts-style, Tea Party-infused Republican upset happening anywhere near 59th Street. Even less of a chance that a half-baked and angry screed against the president, committed to paper and distributed to a fast-moving rush hour crowd in Midtown, will convince anyone of anything. Yet some bold pamphleteer decided to test the odds just a few hours before President Obama’s first State of the Union address Wednesday, as a tipster reported to Gothamist: We just looked out the window and the sky was covered in falling paper. We went outside and...

The Second Battle of the Second American Revolution The shot heard ‘round the world"By the rude bridge that arched the flood,Their flag to April's breeze unfurled; Here once the embattled farmers stood,And fired the shot heard 'round the world." Concord Hymn – Ralph Waldo Emerson The date was April 19, 1775. The battle was at the Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts American patriots threw off the shackles of their “masters” in Britain and sought to teach the Redcoats a lesson about true liberty and freedom! Under the seeking of Divine Providence, they gave their lives , their fortunes, and their...

The convention is being held at a fancy resort, features $550 ticket prices, a steak and lobster dinner and a guest speaker with a $100,000 speaking fee. It’s sponsored by a for-profit company with a mysterious wealthy benefactor, and its organizers, who have been accused of secrecy and corruption, have threatened lawsuits against dissenters and clamped down on news coverage. Sounds like just the kind of thing that tea party activists, whose populist outrage is directed at the Washington and Wall Street establishments, would be up in arms over. Except it’s a tea party convention. Billed as a pivot...

With 'tea parties' on the warpath, leadership could come from the bottom up Special elections are often the harbingersof political change. As I watch the Senate race in Massachusetts, where an insurgent small-government conservative campaign has shocked the Democrat establishment, I am amazed at how similar the political climate today is to the early days of the Contract with America. Back in May of 1994, the 2nd Congressional District of Kentucky held a special election to fill the seat following the passing of Democrat William Natcher. The district had not elected a Republican in 129 years, but Republican Ron Lewis...

What can I say? What can anyone say? The long-awaited political realignment has begun. The Democratic Party has self-destructed. Even Massachusetts recognizes it and led the way last night in making it official. When the polls closed, the curtain opened on a midterm election year that promises the biggest political revolution this nation has witnessed since 1994 – maybe bigger, maybe much bigger. I don't know much about Scott Brown. His story is almost beside the point. What we witnessed yesterday in Massachusetts was a referendum on Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. The people of arguably the most...

Submitted by Bray "He as sent me to proclaim FREEDOM for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed." - Luke 4:18 "The Redcoats are coming!" "The Redcoats are coming!" How historic! Where Liberty was formed, it is being reborn. There is a real revolution brewing in this Country at the site of the original Tea Party, as these modern Tea Patriots are about to start a second Revolutionary War. Unlike the first one that had Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Franklin this one has ordinary people doing what Americans have done since 1776, throwing out...

When Scott Brown gallops to victory tomorrow, capturing the Massachusetts senate seat made absent by Sen. Ted Kennedy's death, it will signal a definitive referendum against all things Obama - his onerous and discriminatory "healthcare" bill (which an overwhelming majority of Americans fear and loathe), his failing economy, his escalating unemployment rate, his out-of-control spending, his accumulating federal debt, and, in far broader terms, his socialist-cum-communist regime, including those self-described Marxists and Maoists czars who are trying to whiplash our country into Castro territory. How did this happen? It happened because America is a good and great country.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is considering a plan to ask governments to impose a global consumer tax on such things as Internet activity or everyday financial transactions like paying bills online. Such a scheme could raise "tens of billions of dollars" on behalf of the United Nations' public health arm from a broad base of consumers, which would then be used to transfer drug-making research, development and manufacturing capabilities, among other things, to the developing world. The multibillion-dollar "indirect consumer tax" is only one of a "suite of proposals" for financing the rapid transformation of the global medical industry...

National Survey The American Revolution Center commissioned the first national survey to assess adult knowledge of the American Revolution. The results show that an alarming 83 percent of Americans failed a basic test on knowledge of the American Revolution and the principles that have united all Americans. Results also revealed that 90 percent of Americans think that knowledge of the American Revolution and its principles is very important, and that 89 percent of Americans expected to pass a test on basic knowledge of the American Revolution, but scored an average of 44 percent. The survey questions addressed issues related to...

An Iranian nuclear physics professor has been killed in a bomb attack in the capital Tehran, Iranian media say. They say that Masoud Mohammadi died after a remotely controlled bomb exploded near his home. Iranian media describe him as a "devoted revolutionary professor" killed by "anti-revolutionary" groups. It comes at a time of heightened tension in Iran, following June's disputed presidential election and mass protests against the government. Prof Mohammadi of Tehran University "was killed in a booby-trapped motorbike blast" in the city's northern Qeytariyeh district, Press TV said. It showed pictures from the scene of the blast, saying windows...

Obama says he's bringing fundamental change to America. Well, America was founded on the concept that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and we established a constitution to defend and preserve those rights and to severely limit the powers of government. Among our unalienable rights are the rights to Life and Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Also the rights to freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievance. Also the right to keep and bear arms for defense...

A founder of the Tea Party movement said Wednesday he had a warning for Republican leaders: Back conservative candidates or else other states will suffer the same backlash that toppled Florida's Republican Party chairman this week. "We are turning our guns on anyone who doesn't support constitutional conservative candidates," said Dale Robertson, who operates TeaParty.org out of Houston and helped start the movement nearly two years ago. He declined to say which states are next on the Tea Party's hit list. He said party leaders in those states would be warned privately, but the movement's wrath "will be very clear...

It’s beginning to happen, and to happen with greater frequency and fervor. Americans across the country, concerned citizens of all stripes and positions, are starting to utter the “R” word. No, the word is not “Reform”; not “Republican” nor “Recall”; neither is it “Racist” nor “Religion”. The word once rejected, then thought, eventually whispered, now uttered evermore freely is “Revolution”.

Iran has the unmitigated gall to not only reject the United Nations enrichment offer, but to threaten the world that they will move to further enrich their own uranium if the West does not capitulate and accept the Iran Plan within one month without delay or amendments. Iran puts up this façade of strength all the while the streets of most of its cities are filled with demonstrators calling for an end to their governance by the Mullahs and their puppet, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, pushing for massive reforms. Even more offensive is the brutality with which these demonstrators are being...

Social Unrest And Global States Of Combustibility 2010 Politics / Social Issues Jan 01, 2010 - 03:51 PM By: Mac Slavo The Economist says that 2010 could be a year the sparks unrest in the Global Tinderbox: “IF THE world appears to have escaped relatively unscathed by social unrest in 2009, despite suffering the worst recession since the 1930s, it might just prove the lull before the storm. Despite a tentative global recovery, for many people around the world economic and social conditions will continue to deteriorate in 2010. An estimated 60m people worldwide will lose their jobs. Poverty rates...

Did Saddam Hussein's fall and the formation of a fledging democracy in Iraq encourage and embolden regime-threatening dissent in Iran? The anti-Iraq War crowd, many of whom suffer from Give-George-W.-Bush-No Credit-for-Anything Disease, says, "No, of course not." How dare anyone even suggest that the former President was correct, if not about the rightfulness of the war itself, then about his argument that a "free and peaceful" Iraq would provide a "dramatic and inspiring example" to the Middle East and the Muslim world. Good Lord!

30/12/2009) Update: Ashura day protest became a turning point in the uprising and a historic day but also a bloody one. Leaked information from IRG indicates that 80 people lost their lives across Iran, 1.8 million people showed up in Tehran and up to 500 arrested in Tehran alone. The capital became the arena for the fiercest battles between Greens and regime's forces. After 6 months of ill-treatment and violence people decided that enough is enough and fought back with courage and bravery.

After protest after protest by the opposition, the Mullah supporters have taken it to the streets of Iran in a counter protest. I don’t believe that this regime is as weak as many people make them out to be, and it will take a civil war to remove them. Iranian regime followers stage show of strength By Laurent Maillard TEHRAN — Hundreds of thousands of government supporters took to Iran’s streets on Wednesday in a show of force against the opposition, with a senior cleric telling their leaders to repent or be declared enemies of God and face death.

Next year we have another revolution scheduled. We call it an election here. All of our rights and liberties are at stake this time, not just our gun rights. This country has been here before. We can learn a lot about how to win this revolution from the words of those patriots who went before us. "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, German philosopher "Let the people think they govern and they will be governed." - William Penn “I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed a...

The BBC is reporting that clashes are continuing into Monday morning between protesters and the regime security forces in Tehran and perhaps other cities, marking the first decisive failure of the basij paramilitary to control the streets by early morning of the day of a big demonstration. The number of protesters allegedly killed by security men rose to 9, with dozens wounded and 300 persons allegedly arrested. This video is allegedly from Monday morning and shows protesters freeing others taken prisoner in a basij van: The chanting on Sunday turned against Ayatollah Ali Khamenei himself, not just against President Ahmadinejad....

Here is truly amazing (and graphic) video of a crowd in Sirjan, Iran storming police to prevent the public execution of two people. The video shows the crowd storming the gallows and cutting down the bodies of two men in the process of being hanged. It shows the protesters being shot at by Iranian forces as they tried to get away with the men. The condition of the men cut down from the gallows is not clear. Reports indicate several protesters were killed in the shooting. Gateway Pundit has much more on the dramatic incident. . . .

What a year! For the first time in, well, ever, there were hundreds thousands of protests held across the United States that weren’t populated by crazed, slightly-fragrant hippies chanting such catchy slogans as “Boobs not Bombs.” No, these protests featured real-life Americans, ones you might even see at the grocery store or picking their kids up from school. They also had these bizarre red, white, and blue pieces of cloth never before seen at protests. I heard one protester call it a flag, but it was so weird watching it be waved around in the sky instead of stomped on...

It’s like America woke up one morning and yelled “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore, as soon as I get off work.” The general mood is anti-big government with a heavy dose of anti-establishment mixed in. The lucky beneficiaries are likely to be Republicans, though Republicans are by no means free from the wrath of Tea Partiers. As hand-picked establishment candidates (Charlie Crist, Dede Scozzafava, Trey Grayson) are chosen for primaries across the country by establishment Republicans, conservative voters have different plans. As those candidates sink, anti-establishment candidates like Rand Paul and Marco Rubio...

The battle that birthed our great nation was a battle well worth waging. Our founders declared that "taxation without representation" was unacceptable. So much so that men risked fortune, injury and even life in fighting a revolutionary war to break free from tyranny. Two-hundred thirty five years later, our nation finds itself facing a new tyranny – legislation without representation. Are there Americans willing to fight this time to break free again? Regardless of which poll one reads, the majority of Americans are clearly opposed to the health-care bill in its current form. As few as 52 percent and as...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Now, folks, let me address this, because I got an e-mail, I mentioned it briefly at the conclusion of the previous hour. I'm not trying to dispirit anybody but I must be honest with you about how I think the Democrats are going to play this, and I have to be honest when I tell you I don't think they care about losing their majority. That's how committed to this they are, and I don't doubt for a minute that health care and health insurance will become the new third rail, just like Social Security. Every election...

Christmas approaches. Families gather. For some, there is a whirl of presents to wrap, cards to address, meals to cook. For many on this Christmas, times are hard, and it's worth recalling what the real story is about. The real story is not about Santa Claus, it's about Jesus the Christ. His birth is the real reason for the season. The real story is about two parents, ethnic minorities in the Roman Empire, fleeing for their lives, later to become immigrants in Egypt, traveling to make the census count or be punished. They had no place to stay. The innkeeper...

Kathryn, re your Facebook friend who asks, "Can we officially retire the phrases 'blue dog' democrats and 'pro life' democrats? Because there is no such thing:" As I wrote back in the summer, "Put not your trust in Blue Dog Democrats." It was folly to bet the Republic on the likes of Ben Nelson and Blanche Lincoln and other "moderates" who are, by definition, trimmers and accommodationists. By contrast, Barney Frank and the more ambitious Dems are thinking long-term. And, if it's a choice between getting government health care or keeping Ben Nelson, it's no contest. Not to keep quoting...

Watching the progression of Marxism in this country has been slow, painful, and not without the aquiescence of the People. For years I have been asking anyone who could/would answer what would be the straw that breaks the camel's back. With each succeeding straw, the People groaned and bitched but did nothing and went on buying more reasons with their dollars to add to the excuses they already had. Various excuses wafted up from the general population like a cloud. I need to keep my job. I need to feed my family. When government took over the education of our...

A noted historian debunks the conventional wisdom about America's War of Independence We think we know the Revolutionary War. After all, the American Revolution and the war that accompanied it not only determined the nation we would become but also continue to define who we are. The Declaration of Independence, the Midnight Ride, Valley Forge—the whole glorious chronicle of the colonists’ rebellion against tyranny is in the American DNA. Often it is the Revolution that is a child’s first encounter with history.Yet much of what we know is not entirely true. Perhaps more than any defining moment in American history,...

Randall Terry: People who reject the Law of God cannot bear to be consistent with their own lawless world. They'll say, "The seventh commandment, 'Thou shalt not commit adultery' -- that's not binding for today." But they don't want someone sleeping with their spouse. They don't want someone stealing their car. They don't want somebody usurping their parent's authority. So it's funny that they mock us, but in a world without the law of God, you have chaos, oppression tyranny and everyone doing what is right in their own eyes. And they cannot bear consistency with that chaotic world. It...

On December 14th 1799, America lost her first president. She needs to revisit what made George Washington the great man and the great President that he was. Remembering George... First U.S. President: 1789-1797On April 30, 1789, George Washington, standing on the balcony of Federal Hall on Wall Street in New York, took his oath of office as the first President of the United States.
