I just received the very sad news that Michigan freeper Westlander has lost his battle with cancer. Joe died on March 4. I cannot express well enough how much I will miss Joe. His loss will be felt throughout the whole forum, and especially by those of us here in Michigan who have come to know him so well the last six years. The mitten board will not be the same without him. My thoughts and prayers are with Joe's wife, Pat, and his friends and family. May God bring them comfort in their time of need. Godspeed, Joe.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The remains of Navy pilot Michael Scott Speicher returned to his Florida home on Thursday, 18 years after his FA-18 Hornet was shot down on the first night of the 1991 Gulf War. Speicher's remains arrived at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station around 3 p.m. About ten minutes later his coffin was rolled off the plane draped with the U.S. flag. It was to remain at the All Saints Chapel on the base overnight.

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
