Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann today got a very warm reception from her home state at a conference of conservative bloggers in Minneapolis, but a few gay rights protesters still managed to make her the latest victim of the glitter attacks that have already been waged on fellow GOP presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and Tim Pawlenty. Following her speech at the RightOnline conference this morning, Bachmann had some glitter thrown on her as she made her way off stage to greet the audience.

I have discovered the ultimate weapon against any TSA screener who wants to cop a cheap feel as I fly during the Thanksgiving holiday. The weapon is Kielbasa. It's Aunt Blogdona’s annual Thanksgiving treat of kielbasa and sautéed onion borsch. One bowl of this stuff in an untrained bowel and your gut produces enough gas to drive the family car home from Hamtramck, Michigan to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. If the EPA ever smelled this stuff, everyone’s arse would have to be pasted with federally-mandated warning stickers. If a lawyer from the EU ever smelled it in a closed room, Auntie...

SANTA FE — If two criminal defense lawyers serving in the Legislature get their way, a lot of New Mexico ex-cons wouldn't have to worry about their rap sheets following them around the rest of their lives. Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez, D-Belen, and Rep. Antonio "Moe" Maestas, D-Albuquerque, are pushing bills that would allow judges to wipe away court and police records of offenders who complete sentences for certain crimes and aren't charged with new crimes for a certain period of time. The bills are not identical, but under one or the other offenses that could be expunged range...

TWO newspaper reports and a youtube video unfavorable to Barack Obama have all mysteriously disappeared off the internet. I did a desparate google search and found someone else noticed and took a screen shot. Click below for screen shots from a liberal democrat? site. Click Here

During the run-up to the primaries, Senator Obama did not appear in the Senate to vote on the (Kyl-Lieberman Amendment)calling on the government to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist entity and thus suffer the imposition of sanctions. On the day of the vote on the amendment, however, Obama issued a statement announcing that he would have voted against it. In the statement, the closest he came to addressing the merits of the amendment was his assertion that "he does not think that now is the time for saber-rattling towards Iran." The amendment passed the Senate 76-22 on...

Today FR mysteriously disappeared from the internet. When it came back numerous posts were missing. In other words, it experienced "missing time", a classic symptom of Alien Abduction.

For four decades, Joseph Torrenueva has cut the hair of Hollywood celebrities, including Marlon Brando and Bob Barker, so when a friend told him in 2003 that a presidential candidate needed grooming advice, he agreed to help. The Beverly Hills hairstylist, a Democrat, said he hit it off with then-Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) at a meeting in Los Angeles that brought several fashion experts together to advise the candidate on his appearance. Since then, Torrenueva has cut Edwards's hair at least 16 times. At first, the haircuts were free. But because Torrenueva often had to fly somewhere on the campaign...

Kolbe says time not right to push gay immigration rightsGay GOP congressman is in bi-national relationship By JOSHUA LYNSEN | Jul 6, 12:38 AM Retiring gay Congressman Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz.), who is involved in a bi-national relationship, said in an interview this week that he isn't pushing gay issues in the ongoing immigration battle on Capitol Hill because it would only add "baggage" to the debate. "The immigration debate is so heavily laden and so fraught with so many issues that adding one like this into it is not terribly practical," said Kolbe, one of the leading congressional Republicans setting...

A Sumter man was severely burned late Sunday night after he reportedly climbed an electrical pole to try and steal copper wire. Authorities said Herbert Wayne Odom, 34, of 306 E. Charlotte Ave. was taken to Tuomey Regional Medical Center and later flown by helicopter to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga., following the 9:30 p.m. incident. "There's fluid around his heart, and he's burnt up pretty good," said a man who only wanted to be identified as Odom's brother. "We're not sure if he's going to make it." His condition could not be determined as of...

Ex-prostitute says he won't bow out of state House race DALLAS (AP) - A man running for state representative acknowledged that he once worked as a prostitute but said he's turned his life around and doesn't regret his past. Tom Malin, who has also sold Mary Kay cosmetics and now markets electricity, conceded that his illicit past could cost him the nomination in the March 7 Democratic primary. "I've made mistakes in my life, and I've stood before my creator and I've accepted responsibility for my behavior," Malin said in Friday's Dallas Morning News. On his campaign Web page, Malin...

UNTIL the last minute of his life at 3.30pm last Wednesday, the logistics skills that the Bali bombing mastermind known as the “Demolition Man” had polished at Reading University did not desert him. As a team from Indonesia’s elite police unit, Detachment 88, crept into place around his hideaway, Azahari bin Husin, 48, was working with an accomplice on the explosive devices that had made his name. They had more than 30 small charges with intricate electronic settings, which police experts think were intended to detonate larger bombs. Computer disks, several mobile phones and jihadi tracts littered the main room...

Just wanted to share with some of you something that happened early this month. This requires some background. I have no liscense (Not a drunk, I just drive like aan idiot) and I get a ride 35 miles each way to work and back, 75% of the time by a married couple who have been friends of mine for several years. We were friends before they morphed into Michael Moore's stepchildren. The husband is more muted, certainly with the same belief structure but not as radical. The wife thinks it was wrong to attack Iraq...AND Afghanistan. The falling debris from...

Here's proof! The kitties are are loser souses just like your hero President. BTW, your boy really stunk in his speech last night. It was like, "oooooo I'm the modern FDR, JFK, and LBJ all rolled into one. I'll give you whatever you want if you'll forget how my incompetence let people die of thirst on a freeway overpass." What a loser

LLEYTON Hewitt has angered gay groups after the tennis ace shouted "Who is this poof?" during the weekend's Davis Cup tie against Argentina. Hewitt let fly after a line call was judged out by Portuguese umpire Carlos Ramos. He then asked match referee Norbert Peick, "Who is this poof?" Hewitt denied using the word but video replay confirmed he said "poof". The Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby slammed Hewitt, describing his comment as malicious, vindictive and offensive. Spokesman Pete Dillon called on Hewitt to apologise. "Whilst we understand the tension in this match and in other sporting events, reverting...

Against a mise-en-scene of blue surf, swaying palm trees and a tsunami-flayed beach, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper looked like Jim Caviezel in the Terrence Malick epic The Thin Red Line - an earnest soldier gone AWOL in a remote, tropical hell, searching for meaning in a cruel, unforgiving world. "You stop and talk to people, and if you're in a town and you smell something, if you smell death, you stop and ask how recent it is," said Mr. Cooper, standing on the beach in Beruwala, Sri Lanka, describing the reporting process by satellite phone between stand-ups. "It's the most...

For the most perceptive insight into George W. Bush and the Republicans' robust victory over Sen. Jean-Francois Kerry and the Democrats, look to Tom Wolfe. As usual America's finest living writer sees America with limpid clarity. In a pre-election interview with the British newspaper the Guardian, Mr. Wolfe observed that the Eastern media elite "do not have a clue about the rest of the United States. You are considered twisted and retarded if you support Bush in this election." Well, a record 59 million voters did support George Bush. "I have never come across a candidate who is so reviled,"...

MONTREAL - A gay man who was called a "fifi" by a used car salesman has been awarded $1,000 by Quebec's Human Rights Tribunal. The man's name can't be revealed because of a publication ban. The man told the judge he felt dehumanized, humiliated and degraded by the comment, which happened in November 2001 at Roger Poirier Automobile in Sorel, about 70 kilometres northeast of Montreal. The salesman, Marcel Bardier, used "discriminatory words in regard to [the complainant], by revealing his sexual orientation in hurtful and vexatious terms," wrote Judge Michele Pauze in her decision, according to the Montreal Gazette....
