US TV therapist Dr Phil is being sued by a woman who claims he tried to "brainwash" her by grabbing her left breast and forcing her to stare at a naked man. Shirley Dieu has filed a suit in a Los Angeles court alleging that she was subjected to physical and emotional abuse when she went to see Dr Phil for therapy in 2007. According to the suit, which was obtained by TMZ.com, Ms Dieu claims Dr Phil forced her to "be in the same room with a completely naked live man while he exposed his entire naked body, genitals...

Guest “Dr. Phil” on Wednesday night chastised David Letterman's misunderstanding of teenage sexual behavior and parental influence after Letterman sarcastically complained that if a President McCain “drops dead...don't you want your President to have had the presence of mind to have chatted to her teenaged kids for five minutes about birth control?” (Letterman delivered the same belittling joke the night before too.) Referring to Letterman's almost five-year-old son, daytime TV host Phil McGraw, aka “Dr. Phil,” informed Letterman: Let me tell you something, new dad. If you are under the misapprehension that when Harry is 17 that you are going...

McCain should throw it right back in Obama's face, he should say: Sen. Obama understands the power of perception to influence behaviors, I mean that's why he started using the Presidential Seal – even before he had the nomination. Or say: Obama knows a lot about perception, that's why he wants to speak at the Brandenberg Gate... Or whatever he can say without seeming to take too cheap a shot. If anybody from the McCain campaign is reading this, please, wake up! I wrote my college thesis on perceptions and how they impact economic expectations. And the eminent Martin Feldstein...

... Yes, she's a girl with problems. Yes, Britney's messed up her career, her marriage, motherhood, etc. But when Dr. Phil McGraw showed up at her hospital to help her "get real" with her "issues" - supposedly with her family's blessing - there's one thing that happened to Britney Spears that took the meaning of "wrongness" to a whole new level. "He's crossed the line," mental health pros wailed after he appeared before Britney (reportedly on the invitation Lynne Spears, Brit's mom) and then turned the private meeting into very public plea to "treat" the troubled star on a special...

Troubled pop singer Britney Spears was released from a Los Angeles hospital following a visit from talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw, gossip website TMZ.com reported Saturday. Spears was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by ambulance on Thursday after a nearly three-hour police standoff, in which authorities tried to mediate a custody row between the entertainer and her ex-husband Kevin Federline. "Sources say the hospital released her without notifying any of the principles involved in the ongoing kiddie drama," TMZ.com reported Saturday. The website says McGraw -- a well-known psychologist and author who first gained fame for appearances on the...

LOS ANGELES Coach Phil Jackson said he deserved the reprimand he got from the NBA on Wednesday for making a sexual reference in a comment following the Los Angeles Lakers' loss in San Antonio. The Spurs made 13 3-pointers in their 107-92 victory on Tuesday night, and Jackson was asked if too much penetration was leading to open outside shooters. “We call this a 'Brokeback Mountain' game, because there's so much penetration and kickouts,” Jackson said. “It was one of those games.” The 2005 film, which won three Oscars, depicts two cowboys who conceal their homosexual affair. “But in retrospect,...

I just finished watching the Phil Donahue/Bill O'Reilly debate on FOX News. As I listened to Phil spew out unintelligable conspiracy theories and overall lambast those who continued to support the War on Terror, one line jumped out at me. "Almost 2000 people have died." It got me thinking (don't worry, I'm not going soft on those terrorist scumbags.)...and one very big fact jumped out at me: the Left has lost the concept of sacrifice. Wait; let me rephrase that: they can't grasp it, and they never have. I'm not saying that the 1900+ deaths are insignificant. We should all...

Trouble in paradise? Call in Dr. Phil By Khalid Moss Dayton Daily News And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. Gen. 2:22 I didn't attend A Weekend to Remember, the two-day marriage seminar at Fairhaven Church sponsored by Campus Crusade for Christ. But the faith-based, marital-enrichment seminar got me to thinking: What if biblical Adam and Eve...

I have on good word that SI will be doing an explosive story this week about Phil Mickelson. I don't want to get into rumor mongering so I'll let the story itself come out. But any fans here that would quit being fans if it comes out that he's not America's Golden Boy that his image portends? I've been a fan for a long time, and I don't know how the details will affect his reception.

Pennsylvania's number-one four-legged weather prognosticator -- Punxsutawney Phil -- will make a Capitol Hill appearance on December 7, to "defend" a $100,000 grant for the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center. The furry weatherman will also "explain the difference between 'pork' and legitimate federal earmarks," according to one congressman's office. The famous groundhog is coming to Washington, D.C., at the request of Rep. John Peterson (R.-Pa.) in order to rebut charges by the Citizens Against Government Waste, Taxpayers for Common Sense, Rep. Jeff Flake (R.-Ariz.), and others that the grant is one of the top "pork" projects in the 2005 Omnibus Appropriations...

Teresa talks: John Kerry and wife Teresa Heinz Kerry appeared on the "Dr. Phil Show" where Teresa dropped yet another memorable quote: "I think men are supposed to be boys always. They just go through different stages and if wives understand that they can love them." Yep, that'll go a long ways towards getting more world respect... President Mama's Boy. This is an email-able, copyright-ready graphic you can use in emails, on blogs, in flyers, on posters... anything that's noncommercial.

Bush Sign Ripping Staged Posted by Josh Rhoderick 10:35 AM, Politics & Government The story, according to Phil Parlock, goes like this: A West Virginia man said yesterday that Democrats stole his family's Bush-Cheney campaign signs at an event featuring Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards. "They just pounced on us," said Phil Parlock, who took his 11-year-old son, Alex, and 3-year-old daughter, Sophia, to the Democratic rally at Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va. "She was crying; they were pushing and shoving her," said Mr. Parlock, a Huntington real estate agent. "She was scared." But there's more to it...

Very few citizens asked have no idea of what that word means. Folks, the bottom line is we’ve had some major problems in this antiquated, 50-person staffed office and they’re just coming public. AUBURN NY--I heard from my old friend, D.J. Fulton, who came to the Y-field reunion from Atlanta, Ga. D.J. firmly believes, and rightfully so, that Phil Kent, formerly of Auburn, is mostly certainly a legend of Auburn. What about Phil Kent and why is he a legend? Phil was born Nov. 24, 1951, to Wilbur T. and Helen Andrews Kent at Auburn Memorial Hospital. The Kent family lived on North Hoopes Avenue, and Phil recalled one of his favorite activities was ice skating in the winter at Hoopes Park. Phil attended Herman Avenue School, and his favorite teacher at Herman...

I never thought I’d be saying this, but Dr. Phil is my new hero. Although I’m not a talk show fan, on a personal level, I’ve always appreciated his frankness and down-to-earth manners, but up until now, I was unaware of his political views. Well, after Friday’s (4/4) show, I think it’s safe to say that Dr. Phil is on the right side of the fence. I was dreading another depressing panel discussion on Washington Week in Review, so I flipped the channel and just happened to run across a preview for the Dr. Phil show. U.S. military uniforms caught...

MSNBC TV talker Phil Donahue bristled Tuesday at charges that he went soft on a 1999 rape allegation against Bill Clinton, explaining that an interview with the ex-president seven years earlier had left him so rattled he worried about his family. "You know, you're talking to a guy who's got the finger from Bill Clinton for raising Gennifer Flowers on my television show. I did not give Clinton a pass," Donahue told nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity, who pressed him on Sexgate allegations by Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaddrick. "And I was booed by my own audience," Donahue...

Well, I don’t want to damn you with my praise, but I say hip-hip-hooray for that, and I think you gave the right answer when you spoke at Northwestern University....” Tom Brokaw: “Right. I said, you know, I wear a flag in my heart, but I think if you wear a flag, it’s a suggestion somehow that you’re endorsing what the administration is doing at the time. And I don’t think journalists ought to be wearing...

To determine this year’s winners, a panel of 52 radio talk show hosts, magazine editors, columnists, editorial writers and media observers each selected their choices for the first, second and third best quote from a slate of six to nine quotes in each category. Each received a paper ballot in late November and returned it within two weeks. Now, the winning quotes in 17 award categories: Media Hero Award “For Castro, freedom starts with education. And if literacy alone were the yardstick, Cuba would rank as one of the freest nations on Earth. The literacy rate is 96 percent.” --...

July 18, 2002 | Don't tell "liberal media" bashers Bernard Goldberg or Ann Coulter, but bleeding heart Phil Donahue just debuted his prime-time cable talk show on MSNBC and the move was considered big news inside the business. Why? Because the TV and radio landscape has become so dominated by conservative talkers -- a fact that flies in the face of the authors' recent claims that the mainstream media reads off of the same lefty script.Even Republicans acknowledge the obvious. Welcoming GOP stalwart Patrick Buchanan as a guest on the Monday night program, Donahue joked: "I got a show, Patrick....
