The Melbourne [Florida] Airport Authority has unanimously agreed to approve a 30-year lease agreement at Melbourne International Airport for Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, which plans to build a $51 million, 149,500-square-foot production facility for its Phenom business jet. The lease agreement, which can be extended to a total of 50 years, covers 25 acres, but it gives Embraer an option for 70 more acres. Embraer's annual lease payment of about $286,000 will be waived for the first year as an incentive. The lease package is valued at more than $8 million.
