My last post described how a dear friend's b*tch soon-to-be-ex-wife was so desperate to smear her husband, her snake lawyer used the VM Facebook page (which he follows) as evidence to show how supposedly unstable he is. What was so offensive about my page? It was this profile pic:Oooo, guns. Scary. Meaning people who follow my page are craaaaazy. All right, fine. That pic has been up there a while. So starting today, here's the new VM profile pic on FB:Indeed he is. And the White House and Capitol are the Big Top and Washington D.C. is the entire circus.

Missouri officials say they will look into whether school district employees engaged in "offensive conduct or remarks" in a controversial state fair rodeo skit. Missouri State Fair officials have banned a rodeo clown for life from the fair for the skit in which he wore a Barack Obama mask and taunted a bull. The state fair commission apologized Sunday for the clown's performance at the taxpayer-funded state fair in Sedalia. Mark Ficken resigned Tuesday as president of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association after fair officials fired the clown for what it called "disrespectful" treatment of the president. Ficken, who was...

The trial for the suspected Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan is underway. Since he is representing himself, he could end up cross examining the victims of his own attack. Witnesses say Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, opened fire at Fort Hood nearly four years ago, killing 13 people and wounding more than 30 others. Hasan isn't denying the allegations. In a brief opening statement Monday, he said "the evidence will clearly show that I am the shooter." Hasan called himself a "mujahideen" -- a Muslim holy warrior. "He further stated he realized during the war that he eventually found himself...
  • Backlash over 'sexist and racist' DVD cover of The Sapphires [Artistic Freedom? Nope.]

The DVD front cover of Australian film The Sapphires has triggered a backlash after exaggerating the role of the Irish actor Chris O'Dowd while downplaying the four Aboriginal stars. The image, used for the DVD cover of the film in the United States, was labelled "sexist and racist" after it showed O'Dowd front and centre even though he played the manager of the Aboriginal soul singers on whose story the film is based. The image prompted a furore on social media amid claims it relegated the role of the Aboriginal women and suggested O'Dowd, whose profile is building in the...

More than 80 lawmakers have called on the Obama administration to allow gay men to donate blood. The lawmakers say the administration should change what they say is an "outdated" policy. Eighty-two lawmakers in the House and Senate signed on to the letter, including Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Enzi was the only Republican to sign the letter. They said Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius should re-evaluate blood donation criteria that ban gay men from donating blood for life.

Government workers in the city of Seattle have been advised that the terms "citizen" and "brown bag" are potentially offensive and may no longer be used in official documents and discussions. KOMO-TV reports that the city's Office of Civil Rights instructed city workers in a recent internal memo to avoid using the words because some may find them offensive.

You can feel safer today knowing that a no-kill animal shelter in Wisconsin was recently raided by a group of 13 heavily armed agents of the government. They were there to get Giggles, an illegally rescued baby deer. A shelter worker said the agents descended on the property “like a swat team” and soon the deer was being carried off in a body bag. Giggles is dead now and the world is somehow a better place thanks to our government helpers. Speaking of killing things, the logging industry in the western states was mostly killed by an environmental movement in...

Democratic California Assemblyman Tom Ammiano has written a bill that would require public schools in his state to allow students to choose which bathrooms, locker rooms and sports teams match their gender identity. Both the Assembly and state Senate have passed Assembly Bill 1266. It now sits on the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown. If the governor allows the bill to become law, then public school administrators won't be able to assign transgender third-graders to use a separate bathroom or play on the team of their biological gender -- even if their motive is to protect a vulnerable child. "Separate...

FRANKFORT — Kentucky Democratic Party Chairman Dan Logsdon called on U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Wednesday to condemn U.S. Sen. Rand Paul's hiring of a staffer with a history of making controversial comments about race. Washington Free Beacon, a conservative online publication, reported Tuesday that Paul staffer Jack Hunter is a former talk-radio host who called himself the "Southern Avenger" and is a former member of the League of the South, a group that advocates Southern secession. "Senator McConnell likes Republicans to call him leader, and he has made himself heard on every issue he deems of consequence, real...

Four things you might have thought you knew, but which might not be true, as brought to you by the geek section of Real Clear Politics. I found at least three of them directly relevant to me, and the fourth one is doubtless of interest (or at least a subject of heated debate) for many of the rest of you. How many of these things are true and how many are just inaccurate popular perception? The first one is that the desktop PC is dead. The headlines couldn’t be more final. “The Death of the PC Has Not Been Exaggerated” reads...

A Sonoma State University student has filed a religious accommodation request after she said she was ordered to remove her cross necklace because it might offend other students. “It’s amazing in this day of diversity and tolerance on university campuses that a university official would engage in this type of obvious religious discrimination,” said Liberty Institute attorney Hiram Sasser. The Liberty Institute is representing Audrey Jarvis, 19, a liberal arts major at the northern California university. On June 27, Jarvis was working for the university’s Associated Students Productions at a student orientation fair for incoming freshmen. During the event, her...

Statutory rape is legally defined as: “The criminal offense of statutory rape is committed when an adult sexually penetrates a person who, under the law, is incapable of consenting to sex. Minors and physically and mentally incapacitated persons are deemed incapable of consenting to sex under rape statutes in all states. These persons are considered deserving of special protection because they are especially vulnerable due to their youth or condition.” If you are a male, say age 18 and you have sex with a 14 year old girl, in most states that constitutes statutory rape. In all but three states,...

This country just keeps getting crazier and crazier. First was the remarkable decision to give President Clinton the duty of introducing President Obama at the Democratic National Convention in an election in which the Democrats made vaginas the focal point—and was successful at wooing the country with his speech. Heck, even I thought it was a fantastic speech, even if it was complete bull. Then we heard the Obama administration’s decision to give as-yet-unspecified aid to Syrian rebels, who boast al-Qaeda as members, in order to help end a battle in which America’s enemies and Israel’s enemies are killing each...

Mix a favorite summer fruit with an iconic American cookie, and what do you get? Apparently a mouthful of controversy. Mondelez International's (MDLZ -4.03%) Nabisco has rolled out a limited-edition Oreo flavor for the summer, picking watermelon as its fruit of choice. It's not even the cookie maker's first fruit-flavored version, with previous spin-offs including banana split and chocolate with strawberry creme. Some are saying the new flavor opens up jokes or insults that could veer into racism, given that the fruit is sometimes stereotyped as a favorite of blacks. The portrayal has its roots in American slavery, with defenders...
