Police in Seattle and St. Paul, Minnesota, made arrests after fighting broke out during a series of marches across the U.S. on Saturday against Sharia, a strict form of Islamic law, that were confronted by counter-protests. Police in Seattle used pepper spray and made several arrests for assault after a brief scuffle near the city's Occidental Square, according to ABC affiliate KOMO-TV.

The stick to sports crowd usually targets players or media personalities. Now they may have to say it to an entire organization. This weekend the Patriots announced they will sponsor the 2017 Gay Bowl, which is a national championship flag football built with teams from the LGBT community. Nice try, Gray Lady. You knew something like this would happen. The media not only can’t help themselves, they don’t want to help themselves. Their entire raison d’etre is to make Trump look bad, so they can’t just let a Super Bowl winner’s White House visit go by without at least trying to spin it negatively for Trump. What the New York Times didn’t count on in this instance was the team itself calling Bolshevik on it. But even after the Patriots did so, the Times still responded with a dishonest attempt to explain away its own fail:

Via WBZ-TV, the phrase “John 3:16” was written on Hernandez’s forehead, and red marker was on his hands and feet. “John 3:16” is a popular Biblical verse, the 16th verse of the third chapter of the Gospel According to John: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Aaron Hernandez’s murder conviction is expected to be dismissed posthumously because of a legal rule called “abatement.” That would mean, legally speaking, Aaron Hernandez died an innocent man. Hernandez hanged himself in his prison cell and was found dead early Wednesday morning, the Massachusetts Department of Correction said. Hernandez had been serving a sentence of life in prison without parole after being convicted of the June 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.

BOSTON (WHDH) - After six days of deliberations, the jury in the double-murder trial of Aaron Hernandez found him not guilty for the 2012 murders of two men in Boston’s South End. The former New England Patriots tight end was on trial for the killings of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him at the Cure Lounge. Throughout the trial, his lawyers argued that it was Hernandez’s friend, Alexander Bradley, who shot the men in a drug deal while parked at a stop light.
