A 52 year old man in Elgin, Illinois was taken by surprise after a prostitute he hired through a website turned out to be his own wife of the past 19 years. The Connecticut lottery's mobile app malfunctioned over the weekend, causing some winning tickets to read as losers. Lottery officials shut down the app for an hour after identifying the error that took place from 12:25 p.m. on Saturday through 10:34 a.m. on Monday and encouraged players who checked their tickets during that time to scan them again. ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a South Carolina man died trying to get his cellphone from a burning mobile home. The 22-year-old man and two women were inside the mobile home when the fire broke out about 3 a.m. Friday. He says all three made it out safely, but the man went back in to get his cellphone and didn't make it back out.

An Atlanta rapper who previously claimed to have been shot on at least 11 different occasions — and who in December, after being wounded, proclaimed "God made me bulletproof" — was shot and killed Sunday, reports CBS affiliate WGCL. Jibril Abdur-Rahman, 28, who was better known as Yung Mazi, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside the Urban Pie pizza shop in Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood, police said. Baltimore activists' attempt for a murder-free weekend proved to be too much to ask of the city, with at least three people shot, two of them killed, in less than 72 hours since guns were ordered to be put down.  Activist Erricka Bridgeford promoted the campaign as a "Baltimore ceasefire" and "Nobody kill anybody" weekend that began on Friday and ends Sunday night, garnering the support of thousands on social media since May. A 67-year-old man who previously served prison time in the murder of a 6-year-old child, pleaded guilty to a 2001 rape after investigators linked him to the scene of that crime through a pair of dentures he left behind. The police finally found former Yankees slugger Danny Tartabull — thanks to Danny Tartabull. Tartabull, 54, got himself arrested in Agoura, Calif., on Monday evening in connection with $275,000 of unpaid child support dating back to a 2011 conviction. According to TMZ Sports, Tartabull called the police to report his car had been broken into. When the cops ran Tartabull’s name through the system, they saw an active warrant and arrested him on the spot. A Secret Service special officer on Tuesday afternoon accidentally shot himself and is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to the agency. A news release from the Secret Service said a special officer assigned to the Washington field office accidentally discharged his weapon while on duty. The incident has been referred to the Office of Professional Responsibility for further review. In a stunning turn of events, Hugh Freeze has resigned from Ole Miss. The move comes after the school found at least one call from the coach to an escort service on his school-issued cell phone. Athletic director Ross Bjork said the initial phone call originally was “attributed to a misdial.” But further vetting of Freeze’s phone records disclosed a “pattern of conduct” that led the school administration to confront Freeze this week.
