Oklahomans would be allowed to openly carry firearms without a license, training or background checks under a bill that has easily cleared a Senate committee. ~SNIP~ The bill would allow anyone over the age of 21 to carry a firearm openly, unless they have been convicted of a felony. A license would still be needed to carry a firearm concealed.

An initiative petition calling for a statewide vote on whether to outlaw abortion is unconstitutional, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled Tuesday. In a two-page ruling, the state's highest court said the decision runs afoul of a 1992 U.S. Supreme Court decision involving abortion-related statutes in Pennsylvania and that the state Supreme Court "is not free to impose its own view of the law." The unanimous ruling says the petition is "facially unconstitutional" and that the state Supreme Court is duty bound by the United States and Oklahoma constitutions to 'follow the mandate of the United States Supreme Court on matters...

Two suspects have been identified after a woman allegedly shot her husband and made it look like a suicide. Police say they responded to the block of 18500 E 101st St. after receiving a report of a suicide. According to authorities, the man was found by his wife with a gunshot wound to the head. As police investigated, they say evidence began to suggest that the suicide was staged. As investigators spoke with family members about the day's events they found inconsistencies. Upon further investigation, police say they learned that 69-year-old Judith Nix allegedly shot her husband, 69-year-old Kenneth Nix....
  • [Warning] Donald Trump Must Beware of Trojan Horse Delegates

    03/21/2016 10:48:52 AM PDT · by windhover · 94 replies
Anti Trump Infiltrators are moving into delegate positions in states Donald Trump has; either won by winner take all,or by proportionally awarded by percentage. This is being orchestrated by GOP County Chairmen, primarily in and out of County conventions. Rules differ by State and County with some delegates being appointed and others elected, so one size does not fit all cases. Here's the rub: Although all delegates are bound to vote for the delegates on the FIRST ballot. After that they can vote to change convention Rules and vote for any candidate you want. If you do not have a...
  • Report: Tom Coburn tells allies he’s open to leading a conservative third-party challenge to Trump

The best line from any Trump stump speech this year is “Everyone wants Washington to change, and that means changing everyone in Washington.” No, wait — I’m mixed up. Trump didn’t say that. It was Tom Coburn, announcing his retirement from the Senate, who did. Coburn was raging against a corrupt establishment in D.C. back when Trump was still firing people on “The Apprentice.” Such was his despair at what he encountered in the capital that he spent the last few years calling for a convention of the states to fix Washington. He’s a perfect choice in many ways for...
  • Republican Leaders Map a Strategy to Derail Donald Trump (Coburn or Perry 3rd party candidate)

Republican leaders adamantly opposed to Donald J. Trump’s candidacy are preparing a 100-day campaign to deny him the presidential nomination, starting with an aggressive battle in Wisconsin’s April 5 primary and extending into the summer, with a delegate-by-delegate lobbying effort that would cast Mr. Trump as a calamitous choice for the general election. Recognizing that Mr. Trump has seized a formidable advantage in the race, they say that an effort to block him would rely on an array of desperation measures, the political equivalent of guerrilla fighting. There is no longer room for error or delay, the anti-Trump forces say,...

Establishment Republicans are looking to retired senator Tom Coburn or retired Texas governor Rick Perry as possible third-party options if they can’t stop Donald Trump at a brokered convention in Cleveland. Neoconservative pundit Bill Kristol, son of Irving, has been one of the leading forces trying to broker the convention to throw out the will of the people if Donald Trump fails to make it to 1,237 delegates before July. But even if Trump reaches 1,237, Kristol and the gang are considering running a third-party candidate against him to split the vote, ensure that Hillary Clinton wins, and keep control...
  • Oklahoma GOP leaders block bill that would define abortion as murder

Republican leaders in the Oklahoma State Senate have blocked SB 1118, a bill to classify abortion as first-degree murder punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty, from coming up for a floor vote. Last week, Live Action News reported that the bill was introduced by Republican State Senator Joe Silk in response to a 30,000-signature petition drive calling for a more absolute and immediate stand against abortion than incremental pro-life legislation. Tactically, there are differing schools of thought in the pro-life movement regarding whether state legislatures should go as far as total criminalization before overturning Roe v. Wade. However,...

FULL TITLE: Oklahoma Bill Would Make Abortion Providers Guilty of Murder — but the Legislation Is Being Held Up by an Unlikely Group A bill making its way through the Oklahoma legislature would make anyone who performs an abortion guilt of first-degree murder — but the legislation is currently being held up by Democrats and Republicans alike, who say the proposed law goes too far. “It’s still being stopped, which is very very frustrating,” state Sen. Joseph Silk (R), who authored the bill told KFOR-TV.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., March 4, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hundreds of supporters of a recently filed Petition Initiative to Abolish Human Abortion in Oklahoma have been lobbying the Oklahoma Legislature to put forward a bill criminalizing abortion as murder. The original plan was to put a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting abortion on the November ballot. The question would have allowed the people of Oklahoma to vote to end the practice of abortion or to retain it. But, the ACLU of Oklahoma filed a protest, halting the collection of signatures and forcing the Oklahoma Supreme Court to allow or deny the abolitionists...

An Oklahoma mother is furious after she says a deputy shot her family dog while she was away and left him on the porch with a note. “The deputy came on to my property when nobody was home,” Angie Laymon told KJRH. “When my German Shepherd did his job and approached the officer barking, the officer shot him.” Laymon says she and her children were at church when the shooting occurred. Three hours later, they arrived home to find their dog, Bruno, bleeding on the porch from a gunshot wound. In addition to finding their dog, Laymon also found a...

In winning Texas by 16 points, winning Oklahoma, winning (as of this writing) Alaska, and finishing second in Alabama, Arkansas, Minnesota, and Tennessee, Ted Cruz has now solidified his grip on second place in the ‎GOP presidential race. He increased his lead over Marco Rubio in states won, votes won, and delegates won--and unless Rubio can win in Florida in two weeks (or John Kasich can win in Ohio), Cruz may soon be battling Donald Trump one-on-one (more or less) for the Republican nomination. But how can Cruz beat Trump? The number-one thing that needs to be undone from the...

Cushing Storage Rules World Oil Prices WTI and Brent oil prices have good negative correlation with the volume of crude oil stored at Cushing.
