The Police Department provided five photographs of trees, some of which showed knotted ropes and one that appeared to have a piece of plastic pipe attached to a rope, hanging from tree limbs. OAKLAND -- The security guard shot and killed during Friday night’s unrest in Oakland has been identified as David Patrick Underwood of Pinole. Underwood, 53, was identified Sunday by the FBI. A black federal officer, Patrick Underwood, was shot and killed in Oakland, California, Friday night as he attempted to keep the peace amid the violent riots sweeping California and the rest of the U.S. in the wake of George Floyd’s death in Minnesota. A vehicle pulled up outside the Ronald V.
