Ford’s use of the notwithstanding clause: Sending a loud and clear message, to special interest groups, liberal lawyers, activist liberal judges, that his government’s legislation will not be high-jacked by elitist, undemocratic, unelected judges Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s decision to invoke section 33 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, (Charter) the “notwithstanding clause”, is a declaration of war on out of control, unelected, unaccountable, rogue liberal activist judges who have misused, misapplied and distorted the Charter to make law on the fly, for their own ideological+ partisan personal purposes. The reality is that Canadians have very few rights that cannot be legislated away by an act of Parliament. Use of the Notwithstanding Clause under any circumstances would just highlight this Using the ‘Notwithstanding Clause’ to keep illegals from entering Canada from the U.S. Since the end of last year, the number of people crossing illegally from the United States to Canada has increased. The increase has been attributed to Donald Trump’s election as president with the promised crackdown of illegal immigrants in the United States.

The purpose of FreeRepublic.com's multiple message boards is to limit the topics for each board to particular topics. Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE! DO THE READERS A FAVOR. STOP CROSS-POSTING YOUR MESSAGES!

In Canada, Supreme Court appointees are never questioned about their special interests or biases. Appointees are secure in their well-paid and powerful positions until they are 75 or die. Their decisions change more laws in Canada than parliament makes. The prime minister, who introduced the "notwithstanding" clasuse in parliament in 1982, has never used it to avoid this advancing judicial dictatorship. These unquestioned judges change the laws and therefore make the laws -- not the politicians.
