Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said Tuesday that House Republicans plan to hear testimony on Dec. 5 from the prosecutor appointed by former Attorney General Jeff Sessions to probe alleged wrongdoing by the Clinton Foundation. Meadows, who is chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Government Operations, told Hill.TV’s “Rising” that it’s time to “circle back” to U.S. Attorney John Huber’s investigation with the Justice Department into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged any improper activities. “Mr. Huber with the Department of Justice and FBI has been having an investigation — at least part of his task was to...

Robert Cahaly, senior strategist for the Trafalgar Group, made a name for himself in 2016 by being the only pollster to correctly show Donald Trump with a lead in Michigan and Pennsylvania -- two key states he carried -- heading into Election Day. (He did not poll Wisconsin, another surprising win for Trump.) Cahaly also showed Trump ahead in North Carolina and Florida, both of which he won, securing his improbable 304-227 Electoral College victory over Hillary Clinton. Cahaly managed to pick up support for Trump that all other pollsters missed by employing a unique method that sought to measure...

A man captured on surveillance video walking near the area where a North Carolina girl was kidnapped last week could hold the clue that leads authorities to the 13-year-old and her kidnapper. Officials are urging anyone who recognizes the "person of interest" in recently released surveillance video to come forward. Hania Noelia Aguilar has been missing since Nov. 5, when she was forcefully taken by an unidentified man outside her Lumberton home. Police said the man in the video is dressed in a light-colored shirt and shoes. “Several vehicles were seen on the video driving by. If you saw the individual...

A county official says reports of an active shooter at a school in North Carolina turned out to be malfunctioning water heater. News reports quote Pender County emergency management director Tom Collins as saying that noise from the water heater was taken for the sound of gunfire at Topsail High School on Friday morning. The earlier report of shots fired provoked a massive response by law enforcement and caused the school district to reroute buses and put schools on lockdown.

Time are EST You could be in for a long wait to know the results of the midterm elections and which party ends up controlling the House and Senate. But polling places close earlier in some states than others — and they could provide a hint of things to come as the night progresses. 6 p.m. Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District: President Trump won this district near Lexington by 15 points. Democrats are fielding retired Marine fighter pilot Amy McGrath against three-term incumbent Andy Barr. The race is rated as a toss-up. A Democratic victory could be an early sign of...

A North Carolina Professor wants her students to block Fox News from their parents. Think about that, parents are paying for their kids to go to a school that’s indoctrinating them and telling them to do the same to their parents. “When they’re not looking, set the parental controls on the TVs of your family members to block Fox News,” the handout said. “Fox News spreads bigotry and hatred,” she wrote. The so-called teacher is afraid of the totalitarian government? She’s totalitarian and she’s nuts. At one point she said that after the Pittsburgh murders, Fox News had a guest...

Back in March The Brennan Center For Justice released a report on what would be necessary for the Democrats to win back the House. They said in order to win back the House Democrats would have to out vote Republicans by a national average of 11 points. They concluded that because of Republican gerrymandering of congressional districts across the country, (which became possible by the crushing defeat Democrats took up and down the ballot in 2010), the number of “unwinnable seats” facing Democrats and their "blue wave” was just too great. The G- word “gerrymandering” is never heard in the...

North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows, one of the top Republicans in Congress, wants the lead judge on the secret surveillance court to investigate whether the FBI abused the process to obtain FISA warrants against Carter Page. Meadows wants to know whether the FISA process was “weaponized for political means.” Republicans claim that the FBI misled the FISA court by relying heavily on the unverified Steele dossier to mount a case against Page. The chairman of the House Freedom Caucus is asking a federal judge to investigate whether the process of granting secret surveillance warrants against American citizens was “weaponized for...

The Democrats typically lead Republicans in early voting during midterm and presidential election cycles. In 2016 the Democratic lead in early voting was such that it inspired major news outlets, AP for example, to run articles with titles like “Early voting: More good signs for Clinton in key states.” Among the states in which early voting portended a victory for Hillary, according to AP, were Florida and North Carolina. The story went on to quote her spokesperson as follows: “The Clinton campaign describes both North Carolina and Florida as ‘checkmate’ states.” Trump won both of course.Oddly, most of the major...

A volunteer at an early-voting site in Pitt County says she was assaulted by the Democratic candidate for district attorney over the weekend, the state Republican Party reported Thursday. The GOP said the candidate, Faris Dixon, grabbed the woman’s hand with a grip that left extensive bruising, and released photographs of a bruised hand. Party officials did not disclose the woman’s name, at her request, and said she reported the incident to police. A Greenville Police Department report, classified as an assault-on-a-female investigation, shows that a woman named Julie Anne Dodson, 75, told police an encounter happened about 6 p.m....

Derek Partee, who is black, said three white people angrily approached him at the Steele Creek polling place, which is southwest of Charlotte near Carowinds. Partee posted photos of the three on Facebook, including a photo in which one heavily tattooed man can be seen openly carrying a pistol in a hip holster. Partee said he called the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and filed a report. In a news release late...

"Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was never given or shown a Transcript or Video of the Saudi Consulate event. FAKE NEWS!" Trump tweeted. The president's comments come one day after ABC News reported Pompeo listened to the recording and was given a transcript of it during meetings this week in Turkey scheduled in response to Khashoggi's disappearance. There are a lot of reasons I’m not a Democrat. For example, I believe that… 1. Jesus, America, and capitalism have been the three greatest forces of good in world history. 2. An attractive woman posing with an AR-15 beats a screaming feminist in a pussy hat 10 times out of 10. 3. You can’t #believeallwomen or #believeallmen; you have to #believetheevidence. 4. It’s wrong and disgusting to harass people in restaurants and at their home just because you disagree with them politically. Also if you block traffic to get attention for your cause, whatever it may be, I am...
