I have subscribed to NFL Sunday Ticket since 1995 and have cancelled my renewal for 2018. I haven't actually used it like I used to for the past few years. God put on my heart that football was an idol in my life. Being in Alaska the games come early and in the past I would skip morning services to watch games, and go to evening services only. I haven't done that for 5 years, I dvr the game(s) of interest and watch them at my leisure. Stopped watching all together mid-season of 2017 and just didn't miss it. It...

You have placed your country above a stupid game. Isn't it great a number of Freepers here put their money where their mouths are and when they say they boycott the NFL..they actually do. Unlike some..well, never mind ;)

However, Sunday’s Super Bowl LII also saw a decline of 5% in metered market results from the last time NBC had the big game back on February 1, 2015 when the Patriots faced off against then champs the Seattle Seahawks. Overall, last night’s game peaked in the high stakes fourth quarter with 52.2/74. All in all, Super Bowl LII is currently the lowest rated since Super Bowl XLIV in 2010 when the New Orleans Saints thrashed the Indianapolis Colts on CBS. Even before those results were in of last night’s game, another voice was added to the chorus of praise...

Ad revenue dipped 1.2% as lower ratings more than offset higher prices Advertising revenue from in-game NFL programming declined 1.2% to $2.42 billion during the 2017 regular season, according to Standard Media Index, as the league feels the impact of declining viewership. SMIs figures include NFL advertising across NBC, CBS, FOX and ESPN, from Sept. 7 to Dec. 31. The price of 30-second spots increased 1.2% from $499,000 to $505,000, according to SMI. At the same time, the delivery of make goods grew from 21% to 23% of the units due to lower ratings. Media companies typically give advertisers make...

It would serve them right. The NFL is really asking for it. He could just say he'll be playing golf. Go to a museum. No TV's around. It would give him an opportunity to question other sacred cows, like the need for a college degree. Reassess everything as the country becomes great again.

More than 40 million people watched the NFLs two preliminaries for the Super Bowl on Sunday, a drop of more than 8 percent compared to last years conference championship games. The Nielsen company said an average of 43.2 million people watched the games. While thats down from the 47.1 million who watched the conference championships last year, it was a more heartening report than the NFL had gotten only a week earlier. This years divisional championship round had seen a 16 percent dip in audience size. [] After seeing viewership erosion all year, the NFL will be anxious to see...

According to Sports Media Watch, all four games were down substantially in overnight ratings from the comparable window last January, and several of them hit their lowest mark in years. The Patriots-Jaguars matchup Sunday night on CBS was the lowest-rated game of the weekend, with a 16.6 overnight. As the NFL copes with a ratings slump and ESPN slashes $80 million in salaries after losing 15,000 subscribers a day in October, another major issue facing the league continued to play out in week 15 terrible attendance. Ravens vs. Browns, Start 2nd Qtr While many blame the kneeing epidemic of unpatriotic players refusing to stand for the National Anthem which started in the summer 2016 pre-season by former San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, others point to a boring season, cord cutters and broke millennials staying home. Either way, its ugly. Since most NFL attendance figures are...

I have a couple of serious questions about the future of American football and the National Football League: What can save the NFL? How long does the NFL have in terms of popularity and support? How did social activism creep into the NFL so aggressively? I don't have a problem with it, I am just perplexed how it is damaging the League?
