House panel on Thursday approved a $636.3 billion fiscal 2010 defense spending bill that includes funding for several weapons systems that President Obama wants to limit or end. The measure also would provide funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1. But the panel’s chairman said more money will probably be required next spring. The bill would provide a 3.4 percent pay raise to military personnel, half a percentage point more than the administration proposed. The Defense Appropriations Subcommittee rejected several initiatives put forth by Obama and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates...

Obama Scrubs the Web of All Birth Docs It was a little over a year ago that Atlas broke the story that Obama's certification of live birth was a "horrible forgery". I ran a 28 page forensic digital analysis meticulously prepared by a forensic digital examination specialist exposing the fraud. Obama hired five law firms to fight the release of the vault copy. He has never seen the light of day despite numerous calls by hundreds of thousands of concerned Americas to do just that. Interestingly, in the past week, Obama's secret police have been massively scrubbing the net...

I'm hoping anyone here can help me. Several months ago, there was a thread called "Obama's Circle of Friends", I believe. In that thread is a post full of thumbnail pictures of friends &/or associates of Obama. When you run your cursor over a thumbnail, it would give you the name of that person; click onto the pic & it would take you to the info on who the person was & how they are connected to Obama. I had that thread saved to my "Favorites", but when I took my puter to the shop, it was erased. Please help...

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama saluted veterans and urged his countrymen to do the same this Memorial Day weekend, saying the nation has not always paid them proper respect. In his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday, Obama said people can honor veterans by sending a letter or care package to troops overseas, volunteering at health clinics or taking supplies to a homeless veterans center. He said it could also mean something as simple as saying "thank you" to a veteran walking by on the street. "We have a responsibility to serve all of them as well as they serve...

U.S. Rep. Nick J. Rahall, D-WV, on Thursday, May 21, 2009 submitted testimony to the House Committee on the Judiciary hearing on the ramifications of auto industry bankruptcies to express his grave reservations with recent announcements by Chrysler and General Motors to cut nearly 1,800 dealerships nationwide. Thursday's action follows Rahall’s letter last week to President Obama’s Auto Task Force urging reconsideration of their current strategies to avoid the substantial negative impact on West Virginia’s economy and the Nation as a whole. “Automotive dealerships are an important economic engine. Removing them will cause significant losses to West Virginians – losses...

OBAMA AND DISHONOR AT NOTRE DAME BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA is an avowed socialist, openly going about applying marxist dogma and principle to our free market and our nation as a whole. Now, at the commencment exercises at Notre Dame, Barack Hussein Obama was awarded an honorary law degree. The administration of the Catholic school indicated they had invited him there in a tradition of engagment and in the spirit of fair play letting his voice as President be heard. Sounds reasonable...but as with all things political there is great risk of how it sounds and how it plays out...

A faithful, 80 year-old Catholic Priest is arrested at Notre Dame for seeking to support the Catholic position on abortion. VIDEO OF 80 YEAR OLD PRIEST BEING ARRESTEDGod bless this priest. Watch this...and read this...and weep for our nation. And then take hope. This is exactly what huge numbers of Americans need to do on many, many issues if we are to turn around the conditions in this nation. The left has practiced it for decades and shamed, cowed, and manipulated traditional Americans into letting our birthrights be walked on. It is time we stood up and turned it around...

Criminal charges against a junior at Dakota Ridge High School, who wore a T-shirt saying "NOBAMA" before an appearance and speech last fall by Michelle Obama at the school, were dropped Thursday. Blake Benson, 17, was one of three students at the school who chose to "stay and campaign" for Sen. John McCain when Michelle Obama spoke at the school on Nov. 3. At the time of his arrest, Benson was holding a McCain-Palin campaign sign. He was handcuffed and taken to the school's administrative office, said Dan Recht, a Denver lawyer who took the case on behalf of the...

More than 1,200 protesters crammed the corners of Seventh Avenue and C Street in Anchorage today as part of a national Tax Day Tea Party organized by a coalition of conservative groups. "(This is) the first time I've ever been to a protest in my entire life," said 45-year-old fitness instructor Amy Brun, who says the federal government should let the free market save the economy rather than going deeper in debt in an attempt to spur recovery. "I don't want any more bailouts," she said. "I didn't want the one Bush imposed, I didn't want the one Obama imposed....

Obama Abdicates US's Role As Superpower By James G. Wiles, For The Bulletin In 1916, Field Marshall Ludendorf returned to Berlin after a visit to the front-lines of Germany’s ally, the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His report to the Kaiser and the General Staff was to the point: “we are allied,” he said, “to a corpse.” Somehow, one doubts that thought occurred to the Leader of the Free World (as American presidents used to be styled) as he and the Mighty Michelle (credit: BBC) winged their way home from their triumphant European tour. In that tour, nothing of benefit to the United...

“In the Middle East,” President Obama told the Turkish parliament on Monday, “we share the goal of a lasting peace between Israel and its neighbors. Let me be clear: the United States strongly supports the goal of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security.” He added: “That is a goal shared by Palestinians, Israelis, and people of good will around the world. That is a goal that the parties agreed to in the road map and at Annapolis. And that is a goal that I will actively pursue as president.” His words give rise...

For all of his hopes about bipartisanship, Barack Obama has the most polarized early job approval ratings of any president in the past four decades. The 61-point partisan gap in opinions about Obama's job performance is the result of a combination of high Democratic ratings for the president -- 88% job approval among Democrats -- and relatively low approval ratings among Republicans (27%).

President Obama has promised to change the way the government does business, but in at least one respect he is taking a page from the Bush playbook, stocking his town hall Thursday with supporters whose soft -- though far from planted -- questions provided openings to discuss his preferred message of the day. Obama has said, "I think it's important to engage your critics ... because not only will you occasionally change their mind but, more importantly, sometimes they will change your mind," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs recounted to The Post's Lois Romano in an interview Wednesday.

ATLANTA -- The Georgia House voted against approving a resolution that would have honored President Barack Obama and praised him for being a politician with an "unimpeachable reputation for integrity, vision and passion." The 70-68 vote Thursday infuriated members of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, who designed the proposal to make him an honorary member of the group.

I think the story-line can be used on uTube, showing just more hypocrisy. 1st question is: How many miles has Zero piled onto AF1? 2nd question: How many hours has he "entertained" his friends? Last question: What has his "entertaining cost us, the taxpayers?

The public will finally get an opportunity to speak about federal stimulus funding. A state legislative committee will conduct a field hearing Saturday morning in Arlington to take public testimony about the American Recovery and Investment Act. In Texas cities and counties, some officials see the federal funds as a jump-start for long-overdue purchases, but others worry that the one-time of use of federal funds will create unforeseen expenses down the road. "Pretty much across the board, people are concerned about the strings," said state Rep. Vicki Truitt, R-Keller and a member of the House Select Committee on Federal Economic...

As discussed yesterday, Houston was one of many (40?) cities across the country today that held rehearsal tea parties in anticipation of July 4th. I hoped on the scooter and went down to check it out. I arrived precisely at 11:00 am, the announced starting time. There weren’t a lot of people there, perhaps 50 or so. And they didn’t start on time, typical for these events. I hung out for about an hour and a half, if you were there, I most likely have your picture. The crowd kept growing the entire time I was there, I’d estimate it...

Barack Obama promised during his campaign to "clean up both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue" with "the most sweeping ethics reform in history." He declared that his administration would "have the toughest ethics laws of any administration in history." But shouldn't that moral commitment extend to all of those he appoints, too? Recently, many people were nominated by Obama for high-ranking positions in his administration. Six of them were involved in tax evasion or other shady deals. First, there was Bill Richardson for commerce secretary. Second, there was William J. Lynn III, slated for the No. 2 spot at the Defense...

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The artist who created the iconic pop-art portrait which became the unofficial logo for Barack Obama's insurgent White House bid, has been arrested in Boston for defacing property with graffiti, US media reported. Artist Shepard Fairey was arrested in Boston late Friday on warrants for defacing property with graffiti, the Boston Herald and other media outlets reported. He is the creator of a popular red, white and blue poster, emblazoned with the legend "hope" "progress" or "change," showing the then-presidential candidate gazing off into the distance. Fairey, 38, was taken into custody on his way to Boston's...

The election is over, and Obama is going to change the world. Just sit back, grab your ankles, and enjoy the ride down as best you can. Twenty years ago I was on an airplane with my wife and daughter when we suddenly lost an engine. Cabin pressure disappeared, the oxygen masks came down, and the plane began a five minute, 45 degree angle plunge toward the ground. I thought I was going to die, and my family along with me. Except for the plaintive wails of my infant daughter who was terrified by the oxygen mask held against her...

This is likely to be the shortest "honeymoon" on record for a new administration. The news that former Senator Tom Daschle has withdrawn his name from consideration to be the Secretary of Health, is another bombshell to hit. The news that the new Secretary of State, Timothy Geithner, had problems doing his own tax return just barely skated by the confirmation process. Grownups knew that he had cheated on his taxes until he was caught. Whoever is nominated for Health, they are going to have to convince Americans that a government that couldn't respond effectively to Hurricane Katrina is perfectly...

The European Union and Canada have ratcheted up pressure against US President Barack Obama's Buy American stimulus plan, sending letters to the White House and Congress in protest. Remember "Not in Our Name" -- the group that protested the war, saying that Pres. Bush was acting "not in our name"? Conservatives should establish "Not in Our Name, Part II" -- and every time Zero or one of his goons proclaims that the US is at fault for the world's problems, or that Americans need to give up their sovereignty, or any other liberal moonbattery -- a NION-2 spokesperson could take to the airwaves and radiowaves, saying that Zero "does not speak for us."

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch; unless you are a Keynesian or a politician. In 1905, Hispanic philosopher George Santayana sagely opined, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Outgoing President George W. Bush was buried during Inauguration Week in a hail of bombastic, spiteful contempt that went well beyond rage to a psychotic level of hatred. I won't pile on here, but I do want to offer my disappointment for his actions that initiated a string of knee-jerk federal bailouts to whomever could produce an empty hand the fastest. I certainly would...

WASHINGTON — Republicans suggested overhauling the Senate’s stimulus proposal because they said it doesn’t pump enough into the private sector through tax cuts but allows Democrats to go on a spending spree unlikely to jolt the economy. “When I say start from scratch, what I mean is that the basic approach of this bill, we believe, is wrong,” said Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona, the No. 2 Republican. He added that he was seeing an erosion of support for the bill. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said he doubted the Senate would pass the bill, contending that Democrats...

It took four years for Google to address the "Google bomb" that was lobbed at former President Bush. But it took the Internet behemoth only a few days to defuse the same attack on President Obama. Four years versus a few days ... Some Googlers are asking why. In 2003, President Bush's detractors successfully gamed the Google search engine by arranging to have countless Web sites link the words "miserable failure" to Bush's official biography on the White House Web site. The result was that when someone typed the search term "miserable failure" into the Google search box, Bush's bio...

A military judge has refused the Obama administration's request to delay proceeding for 120 days in the case of a detainee held at the U.S. naval prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, who is accused of planning the October 2000 attack on the USS Cole warship, an al-Qaeda strike that killed 17 service members and injured 50 others. The decision throws into some disarray the administration's plan to buy some time as it reviews individual detainee cases as part of its plan to close the prison. Ryan Bowen was a commuter cyclist like any other but Barack Obama's election inspired him to trek across the country on two wheels for the historic inauguration on Tuesday. Welcome on board the USS Ronald Reagan as we slip out to sea past the skyline of San Diego. And you might well be asking what does an aircraft carrier have to do with America’s Heartland, with a show about agriculture. Well, a couple of things quickly come to mind. One, many of the men and women on this ship have their roots and values buried deep in the heartland. They come from the ranches, the farms and the small farming communities.

Stephen Moore writes that the central themes of Ayn Rand's massive book are playing out even now in Washington D.C. as an incompetent government hurries to create massive new legislative programs to dole out ever greater amounts of money to mis-run businesses, all under the guise of keeping the American economy healthy. The current economic strategy is right out of "Atlas Shrugged": The more incompetent you are in business, the more handouts the politicians will bestow on you. That's the justification for the $2 trillion of subsidies doled out already to keep afloat distressed insurance companies, banks, Wall Street investment...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A national poll suggests that three-quarters of the public thinks President-elect Barack Obama is a strong and decisive leader, the highest marks for a president-elect on that characteristic in nearly three decades. Seventy-six percent of Americans questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Wednesday said Obama is a strong and decisive leader. "That's the best number an incoming president has gotten on that dimension since Ronald Reagan took office in 1981," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. HONOLULU, Hawaii (AFP) — US president-elect Barack Obama is "monitoring" the deadly violence in the Gaza strip while he is on vacation in Hawaii, a spokesperson said Saturday. Obama, who takes office on January 20, "is closely monitoring global events, including the situation in Gaza," said his chief national security spokesperson Brooke Anderson. Anderson however emphasized that "there is one president at a time," a statement Obama has said often since he was elected on November 4.

(CNN) -- While President-elect Barack Obama will certainly be making history when he takes the oath of office on January 20, he'll also be repeating it -- by placing his hand on the same Bible Abraham Lincoln used during the inauguration of 1861. The Constitution does not require presidents to be sworn in on a Bible, though almost every chief executive since George Washington has chosen to do so. Presidents have differed greatly, however, on the question of which passage the Bible should be opened to during the swearing-in ceremony. It brings up the question of what -- if any...
