I took a photo (w/my phone of the flowers our daughter and her fiance brought and of my turkey—he came out well browned and with drumsticks and wings intact :) which never, ever happens).

I have to do a ‘photo bucket’ or FB (my 12 year old was telling me to do that to link here...but still don’t know what he was saying...and it is too embarassing to have him do it for me). Maybe I will figure it out!!!

The gold buyers are elsewhere.

Central banks of China, Russia, India, Sri Lanka, and others. Hedge funds. Assorted investors. Gold has a pretty solid base right now, and it has not reached historical bubble stages yet.

Incidentally, the Dubai fiasco is having severe effects on the market futures for tomorrow (Dow futures down 183, S&P futures down 23). Stocks appear set to take a major hit, and with their being near predicted highs, this development may be enough to confirm a top. We'll see. The next week or so may be verrry interesting.

In any case, gold is holding up despite a rush to dollars in Europe and elsewhere. Still in the 1180's, and may take off toward 1200 tomorrow.

I have no problem with Beck or anyone who supports conservatives and speaks as an advocate for conservatives causes.  On the contrary, I welcome them as we need as many voices as we can get to support our cause.  What I do have a problem with is when media figures exploit people’s good intentions and guide them to a third party path.

At the time when we need to unite so we can fight Obama’s communist agenda, at the time when our Marines are accused of crimes for apprehending murderous terrorists, and at the time when the security of our country is weak, our economy is failing, unemployment is rising, and our great institutions are under constant attack, advocating a third party is not only foolish but plays into the hands of the democrats.

If history is any indication, third parties haven’t resulted in conservative victories.  In the 20th century, for example, the biggest beneficiaries of third party runs have been the democrats - Woodrow Wilson and Bill Clinton immediately come to mind.  What we should do is work towards getting as many conservative Representatives and Senators elected.

Exactly. You do realize that in less than one year we’ll be having mid term elections, and we can stop the bleeding by getting conservatives elected to the House and Senate. Supporting strong conservatives in the GOP primary is essential  But voting for third party candidates in the general election will likely just help the democrats win.

We should work as a unified force in order to take our country back from the clutches of communism, and in that regard I will speak against what I consider unproductive strategies that are not in our nation’s best interest.

If current relationships hold; the dollar rise will correspond a proportional drop in the stock market.

Not exactly apples and oranges. Yes, 0bama was not well known at the time Audacity of Hype was released in 2006. However, he was well known soon afterwards, and was hyped constantly during the campaign, and yet the total number of copies of this book sold to date is about 800,000, just 100,000 more than Palin’s which is still #1 at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Books a Million and WalMart, serious numbers going out every day. Even the other 0bama book, Dreams from My Father, also relentlessly hyped, has sold only 600,000, far fewer than what Palin has sold.

California will either be destroyed, or (hopefully) the governing structure of the State will collapse, there will be eighteen months of no money and social chaos, and something better will follow.
