'Devil played with my head', says teacher accused of rape DUBAI // A Quran teacher told a policeman he raped a four-year-old boy because "the devil played with my head", a court heard today. Prosecutors told the Criminal Court that the Bangladeshi HM, 24, was employed to give lessons to the children of four families who share a villa in Al Hamriya. The Pakistani boy's father, 30-year-old ME, said the lessons took place in the villa's kitchen after Maghrib prayer for an hour every day except Thursdays and Fridays and that his son had been taking part in them for...

A stunning video posted on the Internet is evidence that revenge and honor killings are on the increase in Egypt, according to an expert on the region. Middle East analyst Theodore Shoebat, the son of former terrorist Walid Shoebat, says the killing is related to the Islamic practice of honor killing. Muslim-led nations seek ban on insult As the U.N. General Assembly convenes this week in New York, several leaders of mostly Muslim nations are suggesting that the world body consider sanctions on blasphemy, amid widespread protests against an amateur movie that denigrates Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he will focus at least part of his remarks on the film when he addresses the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday. “I am the prime minister of a nation, of which most are Muslims, that has declared anti-Semitism a crime against humanity. But the West hasn’t recognized...

U.S. foreign policy is in a very, very confused place when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sounds more sanguine about the latest insult to Islam than our ostensible allies do. In Egypt, an atheist who uploaded the Mohammed movie to YouTube was beaten during his interrogation by police and will stand trial for blasphemy next Wednesday. In Pakistan, one member of the coalition government can't wait that long for "justice": The Pakistani government on Monday distanced itself from an offer by one of its Cabinet ministers to pay $100,000 for anyone who kills the maker of an anti-Islam film, saying the offer does...

President Barack Obama has thanked the Egyptian president for securing the U.S. Embassy during protests against a film made in the United States that mocked Prophet Mohammad and sparked worldwide demonstrations and violence. Obama's rival in the U.S. presidential race, Mitt Romney, called for a tougher line with Egypt after protesters scaled the compound wall and tore down the U.S. flag on September 11. Police clashed with demonstrators for four days after that incident and barriers were erected to stop them getting near the compound. In a letter, Obama repeated Washington's condemnation of the film and said he looked forward...

A Facebook friend of mine, someone I suspect is not of the same political persuasion as I am, recently posted a link to an article, “A Time for Introspection” an op/ed in the Express Tribune (of Pakistan) by Raza Rumi, director, Policy & Programmes, Jinnah Institute, Islamabad. Though Rumi is no American cheerleader in the piece, he urges Muslims to look at their own actions before pointing the finger of blame at others for their troubles. One section dealing with so-called anti-Islam works: Salman Rushdie’s book — Satanic Verses — sparked global outrage in the late 1980s and since then,...

Senior Jihadi Writer Suggests Killing Westerners, Putting Their Decapitated Heads On Display To Silence Attempts To Mock Prophet Muhammad MEMRI 92212image004.jpg On September 18, 2012, Muhib Ru'yat Al-Rahman, a senior writer on leading jihadi forum Shumoukh Al-Islam, suggested that Muslims living in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the U.S. kill Westerners and display their decapitated heads along roads with a statement reading: "This is the punishment of those who insult our prophet." While expressing respect for those calling to boycott European and American products over the release of the film "Innocence of Muslims," which negatively depicts Muhammad, Muhib insists that...

I strolled into my neighborhood Hallmark store looking for an appropriate card to send to some Middle East Muslims expressing my condolences for grievances they may have against my country and against Jews who might have offended them throughout the years. I saw the birthday cards, the grieving cards, those celebrating weddings, and others, but none fit my search. Neither did the clerk recall ever having seen such a card. I called her attention to the many apologies that President Obama has made to Muslims, and she agreed that there would seem to be a need for cards of this...

Searching old newspapers is one of my favorite pastimes, and I have tried to use them many times to shed light on current events — or to inform readers about how the past is prologue to our very interesting present-day quandaries. Recently, I came across a syndicated column from November 1979 that seemed to point 30 years into the future toward an obscure campaign issue that arose briefly in the 2008 presidential campaign.

Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt said President Obama sees no need for him to brief the American people on the Mid-East crisis. “How would this benefit him?” LaBolt asked. “The media have already moved on to other issues that are working in his favor. There is no outcry from voters demanding answers as to how this happened. The only people who want him to speak out about it are his opponents. So, I think keeping quite is the smart thing to do.” Despite the President’s reluctance to speak to the American people, he and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have...

From WSBTV, their investigation found that the State Department is sending millions of dollars to rebuild mosques overseas: The Channel 2 Action News investigation found a 1,300-year-old Egyptian mosque that was almost flooded by contaminated sewer water that is one of many ancient Cairo mosques and churches that were saved from destruction by the U.S. taxpayers. This is part of a $770 million program to rebuild Cairo's sewer system, paid for by the U.S. State Department's USAID program. "We are spending money we don't have. This is all on a gigantic credit card right now," said Jared Thomas, a taxpayer...

Just as our elected officials create convenient areas of privilege which absolve them from obeying laws which are so enthusiastically applied to the rest of us, so Muslims are seeking to become a privileged class with the exclusive right to decide what offends their religious sensibilities and what level of punishment must be meted out for the particular affront. Since 1999, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has demanded all nations adopt laws concerning “defamation of religion” which would subject offenders to appropriate criminal punishment for "blasphemy" worldwide. At the heart of this movement is the contention that “…the...

FRANCE BANS ALL MUSLIM PROTESTS Gus LubinSeptember 21,2012 French interior minister Manuel Valls just confirmed that no protests would be allowed over the Mohammed cartoons, according to Reuters. "There will be strictly no exceptions. Demonstrations will be banned and broken up," he said. Think that'll pacify the 10 percent of France who are Muslims?France has already closed 20 embassies around the world in fear of backlash. Too bad it cannot outlaw protests in these countries.

The "enlightened" who claim a firm grip on the steering wheel of Western civilization see the future through a lens in which man becomes ever more perfectible as outdated religious creeds fade away. And thus the irony. For all the contempt these cosmopolitans show for religion, there is one faith beyond public rebuke. Call it Islamic exceptionalism. Public Enemy No. 1 right now is the man who made a ridiculously shoddy YouTube video titled "The Innocence of Muslims." This man and his so-called "film" have been blamed with a very broad brush for every riot and protest across the...

On Thursday, September 20, President of the United States Barack Obama and Hillary R. Clinton, the US Secretary of State, were featured in a thirty second television spot paid for by American taxpayers that was intended to make clear to angry Pakistanis that the US government disapproves of the cheap, artless film that portrays the Islamic prophet Mohammed as a pedophile and a womanizer. That film is blamed by many as the source of more than a week of rioting and violence by Muslims around the globe in which at least 30 people in seven countries are dead, including the...

President Barack Obama said he thinks Muslim protests against Western criticism of Islam are “natural.” “The natural protests that arose because of the outrage over the video were used as an excuse by extremists to see if they can also directly harm U.S. interests,” Obama said during an hour-long town-hall interview on the Spanish-language Univision channel. Obama did not use the interview to champion the right of Americans to speak freely amid criticism and threats from Islamic advocates. He did briefly mention free-speech, saying that democracy also includes “looking out for minority rights… respecting freedom of speech… [and] treating women...

Not long ago I posted a story about a Muslim who had been kicked in the face by a horse he was trying to rape. Now it seems the same Muslim returned to the same place to do the same thing. This time he killed a horse, although we don't know if it was the same one.

WASHINGTON -- Allow me to offer a suggestions as to how our government might avoid the slaughter of our personnel in diplomatic installations around the Islamic world by mobs. It seems to me most probable that insults to the Prophet Muhammad appear regularly in the modern world. After all, insults against revered figures in the world's other major religions pop up all the time. As for Islam, a book such as Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses can be published anywhere. A thirteen-minute anti-Islamic video can arrive on YouTube, and my guess is there are others that have and will appear there....
