To change Islam, we would have to understand why its ugliness still speaks to Muslims Every few years the debate over reforming Islam bubbles up from the depths of a culture that largely censors any suggestion that Islam needs reforming. But Islam does not exist apart from Muslims. It is not an abstract entity that can be changed without changing its followers. And if Islam has not changed, that is because Muslims do not want it to. Mohammed and key figures in Islam provided a template, but that template would not endure if it did not fit the worldview of...

Muslim nurses in the UK have now been granted the option of participating in medical operations without washing their hands. If this gives you the willies and makes you feel a bit icky inside, it should. Washing hands is a basic tenet of good hygiene and helps prevent the spread of diseases and infections, especially to those most susceptible to them, such as individuals receiving an operation. Check out the reason given by these nurses to justify this insanity.

Really? Is there anything that doesn’t provoke Muslims?Dogophobia hits moderate Muslim Malaysia as a dog petting event stirs up controversy. Why? Because Mohammed hated dogs and ordered them to be killed. Also Muslims consider dogs and women to be unclean. And it’s hard to get a dog to wear a Burqa. It’s another episode in the long-running Islam Show where everyone is crazy. (The Religion of Peace) The “I Want To Touch A Dog” event should not have been held in Muslim-majority Malaysia as viral images of Muslims petting dogs have caused great uneasiness and public discomfort, an Utusan columnist claimed...

Besides combat, what’s happening in northern Syria around the town of Kobani offers some interesting indications about the nature of the conflict with ISIS amid the Muslim world. I’m glad to see some dedicated U.S. air strikes in that area, but ISIS reinforcements are pouring in and the Kurdish forces aren’t receiving much in the way of supplies or weapons support. But what I find most interesting are the pictures of the Turkish Army tanks just sitting on a hilltop taking it all in – as interested bystanders. Furthermore, we know the Turks are now bombing the Kurdish people in...

The Islamists’ obsession with blood and death as commanded by Sharia Law will accelerate the spread of Ebola when the first cases of the deadly disease begin to show up in the Muslim ghettos around the country. The mixture of a politically protected minority and a politically protected virus will make a combustible healthcare crisis that we may not be allowed to stop. The insane drive of Democrats around the country to let Muslims who want to live under Sharia law to the exclusion of our laws will make controlling Ebola virtually impossible. We need only look at the three...

Any man eager to acquire more than one wife faces seven years behind bars to deter him. But where’s there’s a will, guys, there’s a way. Just get married in one of 48 countries which allow a chap to collect spouses like stamps and then bring your harem home. That’s because bigamy is illegal in the UK, but polygamy isn’t if weddings took place where it’s recognised. Afghanistan, say, or Iran, Iraq, Libya, and the Yemen. You can even bag an extra wife or three in less disagreeable haunts like the Maldives, Morocco or Malaysia. Your wives will also be...

It is easy to look to religion for an explanation of why young men — and some women — become radicalized. But it is psychology, not theology, that offers the best tools for understanding radicalization — and how best to undo it. The appeal of Islamic State rests on individuals’ quest for what psychologists call “personal significance,” which the militant group’s extremist propaganda cleverly exploits. The quest for significance is the desire to matter, to be respected, to be somebody in one’s own eyes and in the eyes of others. Extremist ideology is effective in such circumstances because it offers...

In his last speech at the Assembly of Experts on September 4, mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei declared that the way forward for his regime is to ramp up its “eqtedar” [might]. In the regime's lexicon, “eqtedar” is achieved by one of two ways. One is to expand regional influence through the export of terrorism, officially described as “export of revolution.” It is this policy that has led to the establishment of Lebanese Hezbollah, propped up the Assad regime, and most recently contributed to the rise of Islamic State. The other is development of nuclear weapons to obtain international leverage....

RAPHAEL SATTER AND ISIL SARIYUCEOctober 14, 2014Istanbul University student Aysegul Korkut is outraged by the images coming out of Syria. But these days the Islamic State group's horrors seem closer to home: She recently faced off against masked supporters of the brutal militants on her own campus. "I couldn't understand what was happening at first," the 21-year-old said of the moment she first spotted baton-wielding youths striding across the Department of Literature, shouting: "Allahu Akbar!" Within minutes, she and other leftist students had been sucked into a fight, with both sides hurling glass bottles at each other and trashing a...

...for being short on cash: NYPD sources The Brooklyn tenant accused of butchering his landlord nearly chopped the man’s head off in a fit of rage because he felt the 57-year-old victim had “teased" him for being poor, police sources said on Wednesday. Hours after the NYPD pulled off a nick-of-time arrest as Mohammed Siddiquee tried to flee the country, the suspect admitted to perpetrating the vicious killing of Mahuddin Mahmud. “Yes, I did it,” Mohammed Siddiquee, 27, said nervously when the Daily News asked if he was the culprit as cops hauled him out of a Brooklyn police station...

When it comes to smoke meaning fire, Democrat connections to and support for our Islamist enemies are a sure thing. Democrats, who are increasingly aligning themselves with the principles of Sharia law, have long been in bed with the worst elements of our society. And now they have graduated to being supporters of the worst of the worst in our world. Last spring, the FBI revealed its case against Leland Yee, a Democrat California State Senator. Among the worst charges he faced was aiding a terrorist group. In part, the FBI accusation against Yee said, “[engaged in] ..conspiring with an...

Like others have done before him, Ismail Al-Wahwah makes clear that Islam is a totalitarian ideology that its proponents intend to inflict on every human being everywhere in the world. The spokesmaniac for Hizb ut-Tahrir in Australia holds forth:(VIDEO-AT-LINK)Maybe there are Muslims who disagree with him. But if so, they don’t have much influence. People like Al-Wahwah take Islam seriously. Those who don’t have been marginalized. True, these people are savages and probably due to inbreeding appear not to be very bright. But they have numbers, and they believe in their cause. In the long run, that gives them the...
