Mysterious Group Buys Building Next to Ground Zero For Mosque Wednesday, December 16, 2009 Jim Hoft A mysterous Muslim group with unknown sponsors has purchased a building steps away from Ground Zero. Hudson New York reported: An identified group with unknown sponsors has purchased building steps away from where the WorldTrade Center once stood — to turn it into potentially one of the largest New York City mosques. At the moment the building, the old Burlington Coat Factory, already serves as a mini-mosque: an iron grill lifts every Friday afternoon for a little known Imam leading prayers a few yards...

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - The five young Americans detained in Pakistan as part of a terrorism investigation were wholesome kids who never exhibited any signs of religious extremism, according to the youth director at a mosque where they worshipped. "I never observed any extreme behavior with them," said Mustafa Abu Maryam, who served as a volunteer youth director at the Islamic Circle of North America's small chapter mosque. It's in a converted single-family home in a residential neighborhood a few miles south of the Capital Beltway.

Reporting from Washington - The Obama administration, grappling with a spate of recent Islamic terrorism cases on U.S. soil, has concluded that the country confronts a rising threat from homegrown extremism. Anti-terrorism officials and experts see signs of accelerated radicalization among American Muslims, driven by a wave of English-language online propaganda and reflected in aspiring fighters' trips to hot spots such as Pakistan and Somalia.

NO MUSLIMS FOUNDED AMERICA BUT PRESIDENT OBAMA THINKS THEY WERE THERE! by Lee S. Gliddon, Jr. Nov 14th, 2009 Dear Mr. Obama, OBAMA said, in his Cairo speech: “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America ’s story. Dear Mr. Obama: Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians. Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, …those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians. Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution? Some city Muslims feel uneasy and fear a backlash like they experienced after September 11th. In this first installment of Queens reporter Ruschell Boone's close look at the borough's Muslim communities, a young family in Flushing looks over its shoulders every time they go out. Nabeel and Sabeen Mahmud of Flushing, Queens are on guard these days, worried about a potential backlash against Muslims.

RICHFIELD, Minn. - A scanned version of the Best Buy Black Friday ad on BestBuy.com wishes Muslims a happy Eid al-Adha, which falls on the extended Thanksgiving weekend. Since the ad was posted, a message board on BestBuy.com has filled up with plenty of responses. Tuesday morning, a discussion of the ad on BestBuy.com had more than 100 responses. Some of those comments were supportive of the greeting and some called for a boycott of the retailer, including boldly racist remarks. Here's a look at some of the posts on the BestBuy.com message board : I worked part time at...

Once again Eric Holder has reached out to the Muslim community. Holder speaks of treating people equally. About a week ago, Pat Robertson stated that Islam is a "violent political system." (Short video on site.) He happens to be correct, but as usual one of our politicians has to come running to stand up for a religion/political system that they know little about. Virginia's 11Th District Congressman Gerry Connolly (D), has issued this statement calling for Pat Robertson to apologize for his comments about Islam. “In the week since Mr. Robertson’s statement that Islam is ‘not a religion’ but a ‘violent political system’ whose adherents should be treated like members of the communist or fascist party, I...

While it is widely assumed that any jury in New York would find the 9/11 terrorists guilty, especially given their previous confessions, it's within the realm of probability that a Muslim juror would vote to acquit based upon his/her loyalty to (or fear of) Islam.

thelastcrusade.org Following the criticism of some BBC coverage of the Fort Hood killings, credit is due to the BBC’s Gavin Lee for including in his report this morning the following interview with a young Muslim from the same mosque attended by Major Hasan (the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen) : Duane : I’m not going to condemn him for what he did. I don’t know why he did it. I will not, absolutely not, condemn him for what he had done though. If he had done it for selfish reasons I still will not condemn him. He’s my brother in...

The soldiers at Fort Hood had it coming, says a radical Muslim in Queens who travels to mosques around the city spreading anti-American hate and has sent a "Get Well Soon" message to the major behind the Texas massacre. "An officer and a gentleman was injured while partaking in a pre-emptive attack," Yousef al-Khattab wrote on his Web site, called "Revolution Muslim." "Get well soon Major Nidal. We love you." In the twisted logic of al-Khattab, who was born Jewish in New Jersey and converted to Islam in 2004, the 13 slain and 38 wounded Army victims gunned down by...

And so a personnel file already teeming with red flags gets another giant one. If you’re wondering how a British newspaper managed to track down this information when the U.S. military apparently couldn’t, you’re not alone. There’s no question now that we need congressional hearings into how the army missed the warning signs on Hasan, especially given the suspicions as to why they might have looked the other way. Chop chop, Messrs. Boehner and Cantor. Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in...

Today, recruiting more Muslims is a top priority for many branches of the military. Under the Army's "09 Lima" program, Muslims willing to enlist and serve in Iraq and Afghanistan as military translators and cultural advisers receive hefty signing bonuses and expedited paths to citizenship. The Army recently established its first full unit of Muslim personnel recruited under the program, the 51st Translator Interpreter Company at California's Fort Irwin. The unit has more than 120 soldiers who are native speakers of Arabic, Farsi, Pashto and Dari. In interviews in recent years, more than a half-dozen Muslim soldiers serving in Iraq...

Ibrahim Hooper knows the drill. When news first broke Thursday that a shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, killed and injured U.S. soldiers, the national communications director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations wrote a statement of condemnation. He only sent it out later, when reports emerged that the alleged shooter's name was Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. "As soon as we saw what appeared to be a Muslim name, we issued our statement," Hooper said. "Until that time, we were praying that no Muslim would be involved." That's the reality of crisis management for the Muslim-American community, said Hooper, who handles...

Note: Video included. Peaceful preaching inside, violent message outside a New York mosque New York (CNN) -- SNIPPET: "Protected by the Constitution of the country they detest, radical Muslim converts like Yousef al-Khattab and Younes Abdullah Mohammed preach that the killing of U.S. troops overseas is justified. In their thinking, so were the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States -- and so are attacks on almost any American. **** IMPORTANT UPDATE, 07/05/07: Please read my 07/03/07 updated list of terrorist doctors and information on the scary Oath of Muslim Doctors. **** Sometimes–so many times–diversity is not what it’s cracked up to be. Just ask Joseph Applebaum. Well, you could ask him. But you won’t get an answer. He’s dead. And he’s dead because he was a Jew, and his doctor is a Muslim and grad of “Ayman Al-Zawahiri” Medical School. But Applebaum wasn’t denied treatment for being a Jew in Egypt. Or elsewhere in the Muslim world. It happened right here on U.S. soil. In Chicago. As Muslim...

Al Siddiq, president of the Islamic Center of Waco, followed the unfolding news of the Fort Hood tragedy anxiously, as a veteran of the U.S. Army himself, as a friend of some Muslim soldiers currently stationed at the Central Texas post and as a Muslim who has become wary of backlash. Siddiq said the Muslim Islamic community is very concerned that the shooter on Fort Hood was a Muslim because Muslims tend to get all thrown into the same category. Since 9/11, Siddiq said, when an individual Muslim acts stupid, it affects the entire Islamic community. The concern is backlash...

A prominent national Muslim civil rights and advocacy group tonight condemned an attack on Fort Hood military base in Texas that left at least 12 people dead. In a statement, the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said: "We condemn this cowardly attack in the strongest terms possible and ask that the perpetrators be punished to the full extent of the law. No political or religious ideology could ever justify or excuse such wanton and indiscriminate violence. The attack was particularly heinous in that it targeted the all-volunteer army that protects our nation. American Muslims stand with our fellow citizens...

In what may be the first recorded instance of a Muslim wife attempting to murder her husband for not being pious enough, a Staten Island woman was charged this week with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Rabia Sarwar, a 37-year-old Muslim, said she did it because her husband, a 41-year-old Pakistani native, enjoyed booze and pork and wanted her to dress in revealing clothes. House ethics officials have called for disclosure of costs associated with Minnesota Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison's religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia last year. Originally, Ellison – who is the United States' first Muslim congressman – opted not to announce the cost of the trip, which had a price tag of $13,350. More disturbing than Ellison's lack of transparency is the fact that The Star-Tribune (Minn.) said the Muslim American Society of Minnesota (MAS) paid the $13,350 bill for Ellison’s two-week visit to Mecca. Americans have great cause for concern. The Chicago Tribune said the MAS, despite calling itself an "independent...

Friday afternoon was supposed to be a big day for America’s Muslims. For months they planned to rally in Washington before their “big” day. They would meet on the lawn in front of the Capitol building. Naturally the media took dictation from the organizers and dutifully reported “It was estimated that the nation’s capital hosted some 50,000 Muslims for a traditional Friday prayer ritual.” “Our time has come.” Organizers billed it as a gathering of moderate Muslims coming together for a “Day of Islamic Unity” to “inspire a new generation of Muslims.” The said “our time has come.” So how...

The Big Islamic Fizzle Event Shunned by CAIR Bythelastcrusade.orgThe organizers of the event proclaimed: “Our time has come!” Well, their time has come and gone and the gala celebration on the National Mall turned out to be an embarrassing fizzle. Hassen Abdallah, one of the key planners of “the Day of Islamic Unity,” proclaimed that over 50,000 Muslims would make their way to DC for the event. Five hundred buses were secured to transport Muslims throughout the country to the National Mall so that their prayers to Allah would resonate throughout the Lincoln and Washington memorials and the joint...

Visitors to Washington D.C. today got to hear what residents in Hamtramck and Dearborn, Michigan, as well as areas of London, Amsterdam and other Western cities already endure five times a day: The sound of amplified Muslim prayers lifted to Allah. Promoters had planned for 50,000 but came nowhere near that. Hadn’t you heard about this? If not, it’s probably because the media have been tight lipped, the better not to embarrass the One...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Thousands of Muslims gathered Friday on Capitol Hill for a day of prayer that organizers said was intended to inspire American Muslims and non-Muslims alike. "But I will say something it took me my whole adult life to come to: America is not perfect, but I want to tell the truth: It is one of the best places in the world to live." Organizers had hoped that 50,000 people would show up for the Friday afternoon prayer session, which took place at the foot of the U.S. Capitol. There were also anti-Muslim protesters near the event.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 2009 – An indictment handed down yesterday in a North Carolina federal court charges three men with plotting to attack Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., with the intent to murder U.S. military personnel. Former Muslims United speak out on eve of “Islam on Capitol Hill” march By Michelle Malkin • September 24, 2009 02:55 PM Earlier this week, I noted the “Islam on Capitol Hill” event taking place tomorrow in Washington DC. Well, a group of brave apostates has launched Former Muslims United and they are holding an event today to raise awareness of the ravages of sharia law. The group is pressing the DOJ to protect the rights and safety of ex-Muslims in America: Former Muslims send “Freedom Pledge” Nationwide to Muslim Leaders for 220th Anniversary of Bill of Rights“Muslim Pledge for Religious Freedom...

It sounds like yet another Tea Party protest, or perhaps an encore of last weekend's Values Voter Summit: Devout believers joining together this Friday to pray on Capitol Hill for the soul of America. Who could argue with that? Well, when the believers happen to be Muslims, and there could be as many as 50,000 of them kneeling to pray in Arabic, yes, you could see how there might be some blowback from the usual suspects. Indeed, the online publication from David Horowitz, FrontPageMag.com, sounded the alarm in an article Monday titled "Taking Islamism to the Streets," and the title...

WASHINGTON — More than a thousand Muslim men and women gathered Friday outside the US Capitol to hold a prayer meeting and demonstrate against prejudice against Islam. With men on one side, and women on the other, the crowd prayed on lawns outside the building in an event organized by the Dar-ul-Islam Elisabeth mosque, in northeastern New Jersey. "In addition to being an historic event I think it's just a matter of all the Muslims coming together in one location to perform what is our obligation for the Friday prayer," said one of the participants Lonnie Shabazz. "The message was...

What was originally being billed as a 50,000 Muslim pray gathering, has now been documented as approximately 1000 Muslims showing up today at Capitol Hill. Muslims are stating that reason for the low turnout was that they were in fear of showing up because of the conservatives who have spoken out against the event. Christians even counter protested there today. I applaud everyone who has spoken out against this event. Remember we still have the numbers here, and within the law we can win this.

Here is a Fox News video report on an "Islamic National Day of Unity" to be held today at the U.S. Capitol in Washington. They will pray and recite the Koran together. As an anticipated 50,000 Muslims prepare to descend on Capitol Hill for "A Day of Islamic Unity" this Friday, several blogs and online news sources have spotlighted the history of the movement's leader and his ties to terrorists in the U.S. As WND reported, one of the key organizers is Hassen Abdellah, an attorney from Elizabeth, N.J. Abdellah formed part of the legal team that defended four men in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, including Mahmud Abouhalim, who was convicted and sentenced to prison. During the trial, the New York Times described Abdellah as "by far the most aggressively...

Michelle Malkin asked "Who’s behind “Islam on Capitol Hill?” today. Part of the answer is Sheikh Ahmed Dewidar who, shortly after 9/11, implied Jews were complicit in the mass-murder of the 2,976. On June 6, 2006, the Steven Stalinsky wrote about it in the New York Sun: Within weeks of September 11, 2001, an Egyptian sheik serving as Al-Azhar University's representative in America and an imam at the Islamic Cultural Center and Mosque of New York City, Muhammad al-Gamei'a, was interviewed at an unofficial Al-Azhar University Web site, www.lailatalqadr.com. Sheik al-Gamei'a returned to Egypt shortly after his interview was translated....

AURORA, Colo. — Djilali Kacem tugged at his beard and surveyed the warehouse of Islamic books he helps oversee near Denver International Airport. “The government should know better by now,” said Mr. Kacem, an imam at a local mosque. “It has been eight years since Sept. 11 and our government still overacts sometimes when it comes to Muslims.” As an investigation into a possible terrorist plot against New York City focused increasingly last week on a local Afghani shuttle bus driver, some Muslims in and around this Denver suburb have grown uneasy, saying they are concerned that law-enforcement officials are...

Yesterday, for the first time I saw a billboard very similar to the one pictured here: It leads to the linked website. Apparently, this is a nationwide campaign to place advertisements to recruit for "islam," aka mohammedanism. Not only did the sight of it chill me to the bone, I notice the timing is close to 9/11 and Rosh Hashanah. The one I saw in L.A. is adjacent to the largest Black area and very near the most orthodox Jewish neighborhood.

RESTON, Va. (AP) - On Friday afternoons, the people coming to pray at this building take off their shoes, unfurl rugs to kneel on and pray in Arabic. The ones that come Friday evenings put on yarmulkes, light candles and pray in Hebrew. The building is a synagogue on a tree-lined street in suburban Virginia, but for the past few weeks—during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan—it has also been doubling daily as a mosque. Synagogue members suggested their building after hearing the Muslim congregation was looking to rent a place for overflow crowds. "People look to the Jewish-Muslim relationship...

The US government is just doing a wonderful job at bowing down to the Islamic community. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder went to a LA Mosque pledging to advance religious freedoms for Muslims. There is the dread of leaving the house that morning. People might stare, or worse, yell insults. Prayers are more intense, visits with family longer. Mosques become a refuge. Eight years after 9/11, many U.S. Muslims still struggle through the anniversary of the attacks. Yes, the sting has lessened. For the younger generation of Muslims, the tragedy can even seem like a distant memory. "Time marches on," said Souha Azmeh Al-Samkari, a 22-year-old student at the University of Dayton in Ohio. Yet, many American Muslims say Sept. 11 will never be routine, no matter how many anniversaries have passed.

Gee... For some reason the permit information for this event has just been made available. I wonder why it took so long for them to publish this information. Washington, D.C. - On September 25th there will be a national prayer gathering of Muslims on the west front of the U.S. Capitol Building. They are expecting at least 50,000 to attend from mosques all across America. They will gather to pray from 4:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The gathering will take place by the site where U.S. Presidents have been inaugurated since 1981. The organizers say that it was Obama's inauguration...

Today isn’t just Labor Day, it’s the last day–forever–of the historic Michigan State Fair. Yes, it’s a sad day in Michigan history.
