The baby girl was murdered in the most heinous and shocking of crimes and the law of the land that so callously identified her as a fetus can never justify her murder. If only the “loud last gasp” of the 7-month-old unborn baby ripped out of her mother’s womb in Colorado last week would end for once and for all the fallacious argument that a human baby is only a fetus while still in her mother’s womb. Then her moment’s long life would have saved millions of innocent children slaughtered by abortions that have become commonplace since the law birthed...

The highest court in Italy on Friday has overturned the murder convictions of Amanda Knox and her ex-boyfriend in the sensational 2007 stabbing death of her British roommate. The ruling was the latest turn in an odyssey of international justice for Knox, who spent four years in an Italian jail after the killing. She has returned to the United States and vowed not to return to Italy. She and the ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, were convicted in 2009, then acquitted and freed in 2011. An appeals court overturned the acquittals and ordered a new trial, and they were convicted again last...

Author Leovy's angle is that routine murder in African American ghettos is invisible, in the sense that individual murders don't get a write-up in the paper. CORBIN, Ky. (AP) — A 16-year-old boy killed in a shootout Saturday with police in Maryland, prompted the search of his home over 500 miles away in Kentucky, where authorities found the bodies of his parents and younger sister. Friends and relatives of Jason Hendrix were struggling to understand how the boy, a faithful churchgoer who was baptized just two months ago, could end up as the suspect in the slayings. Hendrix, a Kentucky high school ROTC student and active church member, was angry at his parents for taking away his computer privileges when he's suspected of killing his family...

On Wednesday, the Twitter hashtag #MuslimLivesMatter began trending after news spread of a multiple homicide involving three Muslim victims. A self described “radical atheist” or “anti-theist,” Craig Stephen Hicks, shot three victims in the head on Tuesday—21-year-old Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salah, her 19-year-old sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salah, and her husband, 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat. Reportedly, the three murders may have been the result of a long standing dispute over a parking space. Murder isn’t really news these days. The bastions of Liberal governance—Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, and New York—are killing fields where the depraved roam unfettered and prey with impunity on the disarmed....

Things are very bad in South Africa. When the scourge of apartheid was finally smashed to pieces in 1994, the country seemed to have a bright future ahead of it. Eight years later, in 2002, 60 percent of South Africans said life had been better under apartheid. Hard to believe — but that’s how bad things were in 2002. And now they’re even worse. When apartheid ended, the life expectancy in South Africa was 64 — the same as in Turkey and Russia. Now it’s 56, the same as in Somalia. There are 132.4 rapes per 100,000 people per year,...

(CNN)—A 46-year-old man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of three Muslim students in an apartment near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. Police haven't said what may have compelled the accused, Craig Stephen Hicks, to allegedly carry out the attack Tuesday evening. He turned himself into police later in the night. But given the victims' religion and comments the alleged shooter apparently left on a Facebook page, many social media users wondered what role, if any, the victims' faith played. The victims were Muslims: Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23; Yusor Mohammad, 21; and Razan...
