Poor Chelsea. There aren't many untainted names left for her to name her baby. I think if it's a boy, she will be left with more options. For a girl, there are just so many names that dredge up bad memories. Monica is obviously out. Jennifer, no matter the spelling, simply wouldn't be appropriate. Barbra, Markie, Elizabeth, none of these appropriate. Cute baby names like Dolly or Sally won't even work. What about the great classics, like Kathleen, Linda, or Deborah? Very much out. Paula? Don't even think about it. Even some of the more ethnic and unusual names like...

Appearing on Fusion's "AMERICA with Jorge Ramos" Thursday night, HBO's “Real Time” host Bill Maher slammed "insane" Republicans for what he perceives as a sick love of guns. “Of course, I think the Republicans are insane about guns, because they love guns, which is a sick position to have in the first place, to love something like a gun? I don’t love my gun, I have it the way I have, you know, antibiotics. It’s not something I love, it’s something in case of an emergency that I might have to use.” “One party loves guns and one party likes...

How do you turn a fine, upstanding, conscientious and goal-driven young man into a terrorist? By fiat. That is, by treating him like a terrorist. That is, treating him very badly. Drop the whole weight of the law on him . . . for holding the wrong opinions. What opinions? you ask. Revolutionary Islam? White supremacism? Armed revolution? No. Self-defense. And now you may have figured out the problem. The hatred of self-defense, the absolute fear of it — the quivering, poltroonish over-reaction to the very idea — is common amongst today’s politicians, educators and even some benighted, cowardly law...

Here was the Morning Joe panel bemoaning Ted Cruz's supposed incivility at CPAC in allegedly insulting war hero Bob Dole, when up pops Mike Barnicle to ask "what does it say about CPAC, where the most popular speaker they had and received the most rousing reception is a moron, Sarah Palin?" A bit later, Mika Brzezinski piled on, calling Palin a "multi-million dollar moron." When Joe Scarborough challenged her, saying "you don't think that, right?", Mika didn't retract her slur, saying only that Palin is "savvy in selling a message that makes a lot of money." west Boca Raton man is making no apologies for flying a Ku Klux Klan flag and confederate flag outside his mobile home. "As many people know, the white families are producing less children because the father and mother work and you have interracial marriages and gay marriages, so there are less and less white children being born every day," the man, who would only identify himself as Mr. Hayes, told Local 10's Roger Lohse. The Cuomo administration has a serious, potentially deadly laser pointer shortage. That's the only way to explain a report from the Albany Times-Union that Jerome Hauer, the state's commissioner of Homeland Security & Emergency Services, used the the laser sight on his handgun as a pointer during a presentation in October, panicking a bunch of foreign delegates from countries where guns are only used for civilized things like shooting people.

Washington Examiner: Wendy Davis told the Austin American-Statesman newspaper on Wednesday that "Texas is not really a red state, it's just a non-voting state."Sure Wendy, sure.Well, she is right about Texas being a non-voting state. The healthy school lunches touted by Michelle Obama have not been popular. (RELATED: Kentucky students to first lady Michelle Obama: Your food ‘tastes like vomit’) The complex body of meal regulations implemented by the Department of Agriculture under the “Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010″ has long been a signature issue for the first lady—at least until just last week when the USDA permanently abandoned the act’s ironic limitations on kids’ caloric intake of protein and carbohydrates. Michelle Obama’s other signature issue — the Let’s Move! campaign to combat childhood obesity — also looks to be rapidly heading to the...

"Excessively high temperatures" are "already" harming public health nationwide, Pres. Obama declared on Nov. 1, 2013, two months before today's assault by record low temperatures. In his executive order on climate change, Obama warned that too much rain - and not enough rain - also dictated that executive action against climate fluctuations: "The impacts of climate change -- including an increase in prolonged periods of excessively high temperatures, more heavy downpours, an increase in wildfires, more severe droughts, permafrost thawing, ocean acidification, and sea-level rise -- are already affecting communities, natural resources, ecosystems, economies, and public health across the Nation....

Johnny Jones who attends school in Fawn Grove, Pa., was suspended from school for a day after he made an imaginary bow out of his pencil, pulled back an imaginary string and shot his imaginary arrow. That was back in October and now his parents are deciding on whether or not to bring legal action. Ten-year-old Johnny Jones was disciplined under the school's zero-tolerance weapons policies. Apparently he asked the teacher for a pencil and while he was walking back to his seat, a classmate held his folder up like an imaginary gun and "shot" at Johnny. Johnny played along...

Rather than thanking a list of friends and colleagues, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis used their American Music Awards acceptance speech to send a message of tolerance on Sunday night. The white rapper accepted his award by satellite from Florida where he preached about racial profiling and Travon Martin. Of course, he forgot to mention the numerous knock-out attacks by black youths this year.
