An American National Guardsman serving in Iraq was castigated for writing a letter supporting President Bush, with one critic suggesting that he did not exist but was a fictional character dreamed up by the administration. Spc. Joshua Madsen, 26, of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla., is serving as a rifleman with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 124th Infantry. He is stationed at a base called The Combat Outpost in the eastern section of Ar-Ramadi, one of the toughest parts of the Sunni Triangle of Iraq, and has dodged explosions and bullets on patrol, according to the St. Augustine Record. Madsen, in civilian...

While many of us have been wondering just how old Dubya was going to handle the sunset clause in the Assault Weapons Ban, lo and behold the congressional Republicans have devised a way to rescue their boy and keep the AWB, all at the same time. Word is out that the Republican lawmakers have contrived to include the extension of the AWB into legislation that will also ban lawsuits against gun manufacturers. By so doing, they are providing themselves a way to make the AWB permanent while being able to say they voted for a bill to protect gun manufacturers....

Let's move on I took the poll and then realized why the vote is 78% Bush. Between Bush and Gore, I liked Bush too. He was a likable patriotic guy who made mistakes in his oration. To me, Gore was Clinton again. We were there, and we moved on. Now, I think it is time for Bush to move on. All of the issues about him are just becoming too transparent. I am sure that people like Rumsfeld and Cheney knew him as George's kid. And let's face it, the Texas Air National guard is where rich kids fought in...

Wanted: Preferably Dead $0.01 As you have noticed, there has been an increased level of "troll traffic" at FR, so I have decided to make lemonade out of lemons and placed a $0.01 USD reward out for every Troll ZOT!ed at Free Republic. The contribution to the Bush re-elecion campaign, Republican candidates, and the RNC will be based on the total number of ZOT!ed Tolled blasted away between 2/16/2004 and Election Day. The AdminMods are highly effective in what they do so the final total could be a rather large sum. If you are wondering why I'm only contributing...

Former Texas Army National Guard Lt. Col. Bill Burkett on Bush the Chicken hawk In his 20-minute speech yesterday aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, whose planes dropped nearly 1/3 of the bombs that rained down on Iraq, President Bush said the Iraq conflict was merely one small part of a broader fight that he pledged the US would continue to pursue against Al Qaeda and other terrorists around the world. Tape: Bush speaking aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln But despite all the belligerent rhetoric coming from the Commander in Chief, his praise of American servicemen and women and his dramatic...

Punk the prez? Moby's anti-Bush tricks Moby (r.) wants to use gossip to boost John Kerry's campaign. One of Sen. John Kerry's celebrity supporters is ready to pull out all the stops to get him elected. Republicans are shrieking over a suggestion by rocker Moby that Democrats spread gossip about President Bush on the Internet. "No one's talking about how to keep the other side home on Election Day," Moby tells us. "It's a lot easier than you think and it doesn't cost that much. This election can be won by 200,000 votes." Cho-time for Moby vs. Drudge Activist rocker Moby is leading a jihad against cybergossip Matt Drudge, blaming him for inciting "far right-wingers" who sent abusive and racist E-mails to comedian Margaret Cho. On his Web site and in private messages to friends, Moby has been claiming that Drudge "took out of context" Cho's stream of anti-Republican invective - intended as comedy shtick - during last week's moveon.org awards show at the Hammerstein Ballroom. "I was outraged," Moby told me. "Everyone knows that Margaret's comedy is very irreverent and Lenny Bruce-style confrontational, and Matt Drudge took it out of context and...

Lauren Hutton and Georgette Mosbacher squared off in a verbal claw-fest Tuesday night at the Sony Club, significantly upping the entertainment value of a State of the Union-watching party hosted by Atlantic Monthly magazine. "Bush is responsible for a trillion-dollar deficit," declared the gap-toothed fashion icon, rising from her seat to respond to Mosbacher's lonely defense of President Bush amid a liberal-leaning crowd that included Walter and Betsy Cronkite, Pete Peterson, David Dinkins, Tina Brown and Harry Evans, former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld and Moby. "I guess you can't read, or something," Hutton jabbed. "Because I can - and I'm...

President Bush was denounced as an 'evil f---' at a fundraiser this week for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry. The event, held at Manhattan's Intrepid's Sea-Air-Space Museum Thursday night, featured a vulgarity laced performance by techno-rocker Moby, who invited Kerry onstage for a sing-along tribute to punk rock godfather Lou Reed. As the duo perfomed Reed's classic "Walk on the Wild Side," Kerry "froze," according to the New York Daily News, when Moby reached one particularly obscene portion of the song. Then, after the song ended, Moby denounced Bush to the crowd of Kerry-backers as "an evil f---," the...

MOBY on the BIG STORY on FOX is supporting Kerry. In the 2 minutes he said BUSH is bad for this country, and I don't say that in a partisan way. He is bad for the DEMs as well as the REPs. This country is worse off than it was before Bush was President. Boycott MOBY. He gave no specifics as to how and where the country was worse off. Gibson said the Mob-ster blaming Bush for the 9-11 attacks.
