Much has been written about the similarities between populist demagogue Donald Trump and populist demagogue Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.). Now, a Free Beacon SuperCut reveals striking similarities between Trump and fellow progressive Barack Obama. Before it became politically expedient for Trump to become pro-life, he held pro-choice views identical to those of Obama. Their support for late-term and partial-birth abortion (where the baby is partially delivered in the breech position, then killed by piercing the skull and suctioning out the brains) put them well outside the mainstream of American public opinion. But the similarities don’t end there. As this...

The parents of a baby boy who died after ingesting heroin were indicted in the child’s death, officials said. A grand jury in Columbus, Ohio indicted Denise Dickinson, 32, and Kyle Black, 29, in the death of their 11-month-old son, Dominic Dickinson, who was found dead in their Columbus home in May, Franklin County prosecutor Ron O’Brien told INSIDE EDITION. Authorities initially believed Dominic may have died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as he was discovered in a playpen surrounded by blankets by paramedics responding to a call of a child not breathing, the Columbus Dispatch reported. But the...

The selfie nabs one more victim. A Japanese tourist has died after attempting to take a self-portrait at the Taj Mahal’s Royal Gate. The 66-year-old man fell down the stairs and suffered head injuries, losing consciousness and leading to his death. One of his friends also fractured a leg in the fall. It’s a sad story, and what’s even sadder is that it’s not the only one. As if you needed additional proof that people need to be much more aware of their surroundings and much less focused on themselves: In May of this year, a 21-year-old accidentally shot herself...

For years, all the aviation world knew about Boeing’s secret stealth project from the 1960s was limited to a name and a single mysterious photo. It seemed like a relic out of time, possessing many stealthy design features that wouldn’t exist until decades later, and even then, only in highly classified black projects.

“The way it is now they get more horsepower and better performance in the hidden illegal mode, why bring your car in for an upgrade that will deteriorate performance and cause components to maybe wear out faster and get lower miles per gallon?,” asks durhamgti. “VW will have to wave a big carrot in front of their customers to get them to comply.” One person wants to know how he can turn a buck in the market based on the news. “Should I buy VW’s stock since it took a dive or should I buy stock in another promising diesel...

A macaque monkey who took now-famous selfie photographs should be declared the copyright owner of the photos, rather than the nature photographer who positioned the camera, animal-rights activists contend in a novel lawsuit filed Tuesday. The suit was filed in federal court in San Francisco by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. It seeks a court order allowing PETA to administer all proceeds from the photos for the benefit of the monkey, which it identified as 6-year-old Naruto, and other crested macaques living in a reserve on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The photos were taken during a 2011...

Geraldo Rivera unleashed on "The Five" co-host Eric Bolling during a fiery Fox News segment about the realities of the Iran nuclear deal, ultimately shouting at the newsman: "You said that to make me look stupid!" The discussion centered on the believability of Iran President Hassan Rouhani's insistence that the widespread Islamic call for "death to America" isn't really directed at the people of the United States, and how that call plays into the nuclear deal with Tehran.

A Danish man living in South Africa has been arrested after police claim to have found 21 pieces of female genitalia stashed inside his freezer. His arrest came after his wife, from Lesotho, told police he drugged her and cut off her genitalia while incapacitated. Named by Danish newspaper BT as 63-year-old Peter Frederiksen, it was revealed he had openly discussed practising female genital mutilation with a journalist in the past. Hangwani Mulaudzi, a South African police spokesman, told the paper: 'We have found 21 genitals from 21 women. 'The man's wife is one of the women. We are now...

A Florida school bus carrying dozens of students crashed and careened into a lake -- and everyone made it out uninjured thanks in part due to a 10-year-old boy. The bus took down a signpost and part of a tree before flipping on its side in the water on Thursday in Hillsborough County, located outside of Tampa, authorities said. Parents and first responders rushed to the scene and that's when Nicholas Sierra, 10, witnessed the driver struggling to bring the bus to a stop. “I saw him stepping on the brakes, but the brakes weren't working and then everyone started...

Donald Trump criticized President Obama on Thursday for not agreeing to release his college records and passport application in return for a $5-million donation to a charity of the president’s choice. The real estate magnate and TV personality announced last week that he was extending the offer to the president, and that Mr. Obama had until Wednesday to comply. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, he extended the deadline to noon Thursday. After the deadline came and went, Mr. Trump posted a video on YouTube calling it a “very, very sad day for the United States of America.” He suggested...

Improbably Research, a comical science mag, awards the Ig Nobel Prize to honor "achievements that make people laugh, then make them think" -- sort of like a quirky Nobel Prize. SEE ALSO: You may be able to order Dunkin' Donuts delivery from your phone Among the winners this year is Professor Colin Raston -- who figured out how to unboil an egg. Boiling or cooking an egg is normally considered a chemical change, which is any change that results in the formation of new chemical substances -- and it's usually pretty irreversible. Professor Raston pretty much just blew our minds...

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2004 Holy Land Foundation terror-funding case, announced on Sunday the group will be calling on Dr. Ben Carson to drop out of the race for the Republican Party presidential nomination over Carson’s statement he would not support having a Muslim as U.S. president. Carson made his statement in an interview on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday morning, explaining he does not believe the values of Islam are consistent with the Constitution of the United States. CAIR made the announcement in a press release (excerpted below) sent out Sunday afternoon...

Police Chief Mike Halstead in Surf City, North Carolina, was forced to retire after posting a statement to his private Facebook page calling the Black Lives Matter movement "an American born terrorist group." Chief Halstead made the post on September 3, and it came to the attention of Surf City Mayor Zander Guy a few days later. The mayor called an emergency meeting of the town leaders on Tuesday and the town told Halstead that if he did not retire, he would be fired. He retired and took 60 days' severance. In his post, Halstead said that the issue is...

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swell thereof. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Psalm 46: 1-3;11

[O]ver the course of his decades-long involvement in American political life, Trump has taken positions on liberal priorities that would put him firmly in the “Elizabeth Warren wing” of the Democratic Party. 1. Government health care for all 2. Legalize all drugs 3. Tax the wealth of the 1% 4. No more foreign wars 5. Defeat the Trans-Pacific Partnership and protect American workers [P]rogressives could learn a thing or two from some of the positions “the Donald” has taken over the years. And to combat inequality, incarceration, and war, progressives may want their ideal 2016 candidate to be more like...

The top brass of Spain’s ruling conservative Popular Party including Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy have attended the same-sex marriage of their deputy secretary-general, giving tacit approval to a law they once bitterly opposed. Javier Maroto exchanged vows with Josema Rodriguez late Friday at a ceremony in the northern city of Vitoria attended by Rajoy, secretary-general Maria Dolores Cospedal and other party dignitaries, the party said in a statement. “In Spain, the right to marriage is for everyone and we all share that message today,” Maroto said afterward. “Parties evolve,” he added. “Now my party and the government join in backing...
