Quick question for my fellow military history buffs. I've always been fascinated by timelines and the overlapping of human lives, much like the recent thread regarding the TV appearance of the elderly gentleman who, as a child, witnessed the assassination of Lincoln, lived into the TV age. As a student of the civil war, I've marveled at the fact that the last surviving individual to hold a general's rank during the conflict, Adelbert Ames, died a year after my father was born. Somehow that simple fact provides a linkage in the fabric of time that makes me realize how closely...

We now have a firsthand account that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pledged the Innocence of Muslims filmmaker (Nakoula Basseley Nakoula) would be “arrested and prosecuted” for making the video the administration spent weeks blaming for the Benghazi attack. That means Hillary outwardly expressed a desire to make Nakoula a political prisoner. There is another individual in Hillary’s past who appears to be living the life of a political prisoner right this very second; his name is Peter Paul and his ordeal began in the year 2000. Paul was the individual behind a completely different video trailer. In 2007, a...

While campaigning in Florida with the Veterans for Romney, Senator John McCain was interviewed by Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers. One of the questions had to do with why he defended Huma Abedin and railed against Rep. Michele Bachmann on the Senate floor. Not only was his answer disgraceful but it was demonstrably false (that means it was a lie). Via TCPalm: Q: You spoke on the Senate floor against a letter from Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., that asked for an investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence in the federal government. The letter, also signed by Tequesta Republican U.S. Rep. Tom...

Was listening to Pat Caddell and another pollster (forget name) on Hannity and they were discussing the possibility of Obama following through with his claim of attacking Libya in retaliation. They claim if Obama carries that out, he could very well receive a big boost with would prob have him win. My thoughts are (as a conservative) that this would be purely a blatant political move for that purpose of tipping the scale to his favor. But of course, all of us are not as smart of the some of us right-minded. Your thoughts? Would it be a dumb and...

I hired him and worked side by side for 2 years with him, heard all his stories and he never ONCE mentioned this to me. I know he got a dishonorable discharge for desertion when he refused to deploy to the Philippines, but the thing that really gets my goat was we graduated HS both in the class of 83. Marine marksman sheds light on how gunmen from the 'hood unwittingly use a well-known aiming technique It's an iconic image immortalised in dozens of Hollywood gangster films: the gangster aiming down the side of his pistol before pumping a volley of bullets into his victim. But with most people knowing that the aiming sights are found on the top of a gun barrel, it's also a counter-intuitive way to accurately fire a weapon. So why is it that gangsters are always shown using their guns in this way? According to Jon Davis,...
