GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A large kayak manufacturer in Muskegon is adding 60 jobs immediately as it expands. KL Outdoor recently merged with GSC Technologies to become Hemisphere Design Works, which brands itself as the world's largest maker of kayaks. The company announced in June that it would build a nearly 500,000 square-foot distribution facility in Muskegon. The facility won't open until next year, but Hemisphere says it needs to hire 60 skilled machine operators now to keep up with growth and prepare for the expansion. Pro-life advocates are fuming over a new billboard along a Dallas highway that suggests black women should choose abortion because it’s “self-care.” What does it say? “Black women take care of their families by taking care of themselves,” the billboard states. “Abortion is self-care.” The billboard is sponsored by a Dallas-based group called The Afiya Center.
