MYFOXNY.COM - Things got heated at a community meeting on Staten Island where representatives from an Islamic group answered tough questions about their pending purchase of a former convent. When one man began shouting down another, the meeting's organizers shut down the event, the Staten Island Advance reported. The Archdiocese of New York has struck a deal to sell an unused property in the Midland Beach section of the borough to the Muslim American Society, which intends to turn it into a mosque and community center.

"Now, some of you heard I went to the [Senate] Republican Caucus today," President Obama told a receptive crowd at a fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., at San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel last night. “It was a warm and cuddly meeting," he joked. The estimable Ed Morrissey of Hot Air previews a new book that claims to have uncovered evidence that the two men met far earlier than the campaign's claimed date of 1995. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with US President Barack Obama Tuesday in Washington, Fox News reported Friday. The report has not yet been confirmed by official US or Israeli sources. Today the White House--which has hosted everyone from the Dalai Lama to dinner party crashers--welcomes a group it never has before: non-believers. The Secular Coalition for America, a lobby group including atheists, humanists, nontheists and others, will meet with the Obama administration to discuss religious discrimination in government faith-based initiatives, military proselytizing and faith-healing. It's the first time in history such a group has been invited to talk policy with presidential officials. Obama was also the first president to mention nonbelievers in an inaugural address.

I don't understand why one group of our Lawmakers are meeting with the President to the exclusion of the rest of them regarding employment in the Black community. Do only white Lawmakers represent the 'whites' and black Lawmakers represent 'black' Americans?It makes me sick at the stomach to see how we are divided along skin color lines since this administration came to power.Am I wrong in my assessment?

(IsraelNN.com) Hareidi and national-religious rabbis will meet Monday in Jerusalem to discuss ways of dealing with the Arab influx into Jewish neighborhoods in northern Jerusalem, as well as the purchasing of agricultural land in the Galilee by wealthy foreign Arabs. The rabbis are expected to call for an end to the phenomenon of sale of land and houses by Jews to Arabs. The organizer, Aryeh King, who heads the Israel Lands Fund, told Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service that he is hoping to see the rabbis issue a pronouncement that sale of land and houses to Arabs is forbidden.

PORTSMOUTH - A White House spokesperson confirmed Wednesday that President Barack Obama will be in Portsmouth on Aug. 11 to hold a town hall-style meeting on heath care. "I can confirm the president is heading to Portsmouth on Aug. 11," said Moira Mack, a White House spokesperson. "The details of the event have yet to be finalized." Obama held similar forums of health care reform in Bristol, Va. and Raliegh, N.C. last week. Mack said she does not know if the event will be in the city, but said it will be in the "Portsmouth area."
