Washington (CNN)—A new CNN/ORC poll finds that although misperceptions about Barack Obama's religious beliefs and background persist, they are not as widespread as some recent polling has suggested. So will the GOP and Conservative Inc. concede that joining the Left in ridiculing birthers and actively participating in the cover up of Obama's past was a failing strategy? All this time they could not even bring themselves to ask if Obama was ever a citizen of Indonesia. Will they concede that living in fear of being called racist by Candy Crowley is a losing strategy. Newly released documents from Barack Obama Sr.'s immigration file, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, justify "birther" doubts about the nativity story on which Barack Obama based his presidential campaign. The documents were posted Thursday in an article by Heather Smathers on the Arizona Independent web site.
