MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin prosecutors have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a state Supreme Court decision that shut down an investigation of alleged coordination between Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign and conservative groups. Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne told the Wisconsin State Journal that he, Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm and Iowa County District Attorney Larry Nelson filed the appeal Thursday. (snip) Chisholm launched the probe in 2012 under the John Doe law, which allowed prosecutors to compel testimony and bar people from talking about the investigation. The probe examined whether there was illegal coordination between...

(Professor and Bisbee students conduct archeology dig at Warren Ballpark) BISBEE — Warren Ballpark was the scene of a groundbreaking expedition Wednesday as students from Bisbee High School participated in an archeological dig in their own backyard. University of Arizona anthropology professor Rob Schon came to the idea to do a dig at the park through his love of baseball. “My family and I are into baseball and I was searching on the internet, and Warren Ballpark came up,” he said. “I found their website and found Mike Anderson’s book ‘Warren Ballpark’ and realized we know a lot about the...

Hello Everybody, I don't usually Rant, but I needed to say my piece and ask advice. I have been listening to Talk Radio, reading on the internet, and reading views of others on FR, and wanted to share my confusion with you all. I am a Trump supporter, but this is not about who you support if your a Republican. We are all beyond that at this point. What I have been reading and hearing, are our Elected Representatives combined reactions to the people of this Nation selecting a Republican Candidate for POTUS. It was a clear mandate, and will...

For those of us who remember bits and pieces of Greek mythology, or who play lots of role playing video games, a Chimera was a monstrous hybrid creature often depicted as part lion, part goat, and part snake. In today’s world however Chimeras are very real and in this writer’s humble opinion, very disturbing. The word Chimera today refers most often to animals that are gene spliced with other animals creating a kind of hybrid species. As if this attempt at playing God isn’t alarming enough, human cells are being added to pigs, sheep, goats, mice, and other animals that...

Monday, May 02, 2016 Taxpayer-funded financial aid for immigrant college tuition heads to IL House SPRINGFIELD - Two Republican state senators - Christine Radogno and Chris Nybo - crossed the aisle last week to support the Democrats' effort to provide taxpayer-funded financial assistance for undocumented immigrant students. The measure would add Illinois to the five states that grant immigrant students financial aid for college education regardless of their legal status. Already, Illinois is one of 18 states that allows any status immigrants to qualify for lower in-state tuition and set up private college funds. SB 2196 easily passed the Illinois...

I convinced two of my neighbors that never vote (Single guy and couple) to vote Trump. They have busy street frontage so after I convinced them to vote, I offered to pick them up yard signs. Some jackwagons came and stole one sign and both neighbors were outside. They got away with one sign. The other neighbor was outside trying to rig up a motion sensor and light when the jackwagons returned for his sign. The perp gets out of his car and can not see the neighbor. The neighbor yells "Can I help you Mother F'r" The perp jackrabits...

However, Kamali did not disclose whether Iran plans to extract shale...

SIERRA VISTA — Seven tax delinquent properties in the Fry Townsite within Sierra Vista are expected to be auctioned off to the highest bidder later this year after a deal was struck between the property owner and Cochise County. The agreement was made last week, ahead of a scheduled hearing in federal bankruptcy court in Tucson originally set for Tuesday, April 26, and marks some of the most substantial progress in the ongoing effort by the county and city of Sierra Vista to clean up dilapidated properties within the enclave. Saddled by hundreds of thousands of dollars of inherited debt,...

For the past 50 years, the oilfields of Alaska's North Slope have been dominated by BP, Exxon Mobil and ConocoPhillips. The big three produce much of the state's oil and gas, but independent drillers are now trying to pioneer the Last Frontier's energy future. Independent exploration and production companies have historically been willing to take on the country's riskier oil plays, operating with skinny profit margins and applying new technology to try for potentially huge payoffs. In Alaska, recent discoveries could hold the key to stemming a nearly three-decade decline in the state's oil output. The finds could rank among...

WASHINGTON (KTRK) -- A decorated Marine veteran was attacked in the last place he expected, a McDonald's in Washington D.C. Chris Marquez says a group of rowdy teenagers started taunting him while he was eating. "They asked me if I believe that black lives matter," Marquez says. "I felt threatened and thought they were trying to intimidate me, so I figured I'm just going to keep to my food, eat my food, and hopefully they'll leave me alone." "And because I wasn't respond back to them, they were calling me a racist." Marquez says he doesn't really remember what happened...

The Convention of 1818 between Britain and America following the War of 1812 had a tough job to take on: determining the border between Canada and the United States. In an effort to avoid controversy and confusion caused by drawing the boundary based on watershed, the two countries agreed on a simpler solution: the 49th parallel. There were, of course, multiple problems that arose with this solution, including the fact that Vancouver Island was split in two by the imaginary line. The debate over whether the line of latitude should split the island in two or if it should be ignored,...

Target has decided to allow its customers to use the toilet facility of the gender that they "associate with." So the next time you send your daughter into the bathroom by herself, she may very well be in a stall beside a man....by herself....without you. Take that in for a second. Or do you even care? In just another step that baffles common sense, Target along with several state legislatures are informing Americans that we have had our "potty privileges" wrong all these years. Clearly we were backwards in thinking that women should go to bathrooms emblazoned with "WOMEN" signs...

A New Jersey high school teacher was forced to resign this month for showing his class a popular John Oliver clip that urged viewers to “Make Donald Drumpf Again.” The “Last Week Tonight” bit, which lampoons presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s ancestral surname, has been viewed more than 24 million times on YouTube since February. But despite the massive exposure, humorless Middletown South HS brass still pushed out teacher Joe Ventre after getting complaints from a thin-skinned parent who learned about the screening from her child, sources told The Post. “It’s a travesty,” said district parent Kathi Van Zandt, the sister...

Most news services are reporting that Ted Cruz currently has 559 delegates after gaining zero in yesterday's New York primary. With 1237 the goal, it is clear that Ted Cruz can no longer win on the first ballot at the Republican Convention. He would need 678 delegates to reach 1237 and only 620 delegates remain. Obviously, that is impossible. That would be 109% of what remains, and that is a mathematical impossibility. A good guess of how many additional delegates Cruz will gain between now and June 8 is 209. That would give him a total of 768 going into...

The union that represents most teachers in Maryland called on the Worcester County school system to block Donald Trump's campaign from using a high school gym to hold a rally Wednesday evening. "Donald Trump and his divisive, fear-mongering rhetoric have no place in the halls of Maryland's public schools," Maryland State Education Association president Betty Weller said in a statement. "Trump's eagerness to bully minorities would be unacceptable if it came from any of our students." Liberal group Progressive Maryland issued the same call and launched an online petition that had been signed more than 500 times by Tuesday afternoon....
