Pro-life legislators in the Texas statehouse have faced threats and abuse from pro-choice protesters, prompting at least one to bring in extra volunteers to help with security. State representative Jonathan Stickland tells NRO that being vocally pro-life has made him a target for abuse and threats from some of the pro-choice protesters in Austin. The night before state senator Wendy Davis’s filibuster, she requested that people send her stories about the importance of abortion rights that she could read during the filibuster. Stickland tells me that inspired him and a few other representatives from Tarrant County (part of which is...

On her radio show yesterday, Fox News provocateur Andrea Tantaros mouthed an impassioned defense of journalists against the intrusions of the Obama administration: Let me tell you how people and journalists are being treated these days. They are being stalked, they are being spied on. In Missouri, a news station fired an anchor who talked about the IRS shakedown. Yeah, fired. This is how corrupt the left is. And now, journalists can’t even get into the IRS offices in Ohio, where this alleged scandal started, without an armed guard. This is what is happening to our press. Those remarks make...

Leo Johnson, a black man, has never received an apology from the Southern Poverty Law Center. Not a word. Which is passing strange for a group that proclaims itself to be “a nonprofit civil rights organization dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry, and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society.” Johnson, the African-American building manager and security guard for the Family Research Council (FRC) was shot and wounded last August 15 by an angry gay activist, Floyd Corkins. Corkins was angry over the FRC’s support for heterosexual marriage. Researching the group on the Internet, he found that...

VIDEO at link. Family Researh Council employee Leo Johnson who was shot by a gunman but still managed to subdue the shooter on Aug. 15, 2012, in the lobby of the conservative organization's building in Washington, D.C. (CNSNews.com) –Domestic terrorist Floyd Corkins told the FBI that he found the Family Research Council as a target because they were listed online as an "anti-gay" group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Corkins walked into the FRC's Washington, D.C., headquarters last Aug. 15, carrying a pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition and knapsack filled with 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches. He later admitted that he...

The problem isn't Hollywood, it's real life, where killing long predates film. What we see on the silver screen can be helpful. By Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times Film Critic February 15, 2013, 7:00 a.m. I abhor violence. As a rookie police reporter years ago I saw the damage guns, knives, broken bottles, metal pipes, hands — humans — can inflict. From the terrifyingly premeditated to the unfortunately accidental, those images still have the power to shake me to the core. They will never leave me. I don't, however, believe the movies are to blame for these acts. As good...

Long before homosexual activist Floyd Corkins entered the D.C.-based Family Research Council (FRC) with the intent to commit mass murder, I warned from the rooftops that the hard-left Southern Poverty Law Center’s anti-Christian “hate group” propaganda might spur such bloodshed. With a column headlined, “Liberal violence rising,” I wrote, “The SPLC’s dangerous and irresponsible (‘hate group’) disinformation campaign can embolden and give license to like-minded, though less stable, left-wing extremists, creating a climate of true hate. Such a climate is ripe for violence.” Tragically, my deepest fears were realized. Then, in August, days after Corkins was heroically disarmed by...

This might be a job for #PolitiFactThis. It’s “mostly true” that you haven’t been hearing about the wave of support for accused cop-killer Christopher Dorner — you’ve been reading about it here on Twitchy since early yesterday afternoon. We’re more horrified than intrigued, though, that anyone would consider someone suspected of killing three people a “Django”-like hero. Then again, Dorner didn’t praise our work in his lengthy manifesto, as he did CNN. His love of Left-leaning media seems to have spurred a mutual admiration society.

The manhunt is still on for Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer suspected of murdering a cop and a civilian couple. In his manifesto, Dorner gushed with praise for Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained,” the film that some viewers said “reignited my desire to kill white people.” “Django” actor Jaime Foxx told the “Saturday Night Live” audience how excited he was that his character got to “kill all the white people.” Dorner’s manifesto also suggests racism as one of his motives, inspiring some Twitter users to declare him a “modern day Django.” Neither of the civilians he is suspected of killing...

LOS ANGELES — While the general response to Christopher Dorner — a former Navy reservist who was fired from the Los Angeles Police Department in 2008, and is now suspected of killing three people and wounding two others as part of a vengeance-fueled killing spree, has ranged from shock to terror, some on the Internet are expressing support. As the manhunt continued as far north as the San Bernardino Mountains, late Thursday, Interscope Records rapper Ab-Soul posted a photo defending the fugitive on his Instagram page, quoting Dorner’s 11,400-word manifesto, in which he outlines plans to kill law enforcement officers...

An alleged murderer has singled out prominent lefties for praise. Question: How many times over the past four years have exploitative liberal journalists and Democratic leaders rushed to pin random acts of violence on the Tea Party, Republicans, Fox News, and conservative talk radio?Answer: Nearly a dozen times, including the 2009 massacre of three Pittsburgh police officers (which lib journos falsely blamed on Fox News, Glenn Beck, and the “heated, apocalyptic rhetoric of the anti-Obama forcesâ€); the 2009 suicide insurance scam/murder hoax of Kentucky census worker Bill Sparkman (which New York magazine falsely blamed on Rush Limbaugh, “conservative media personalities,...

--IMAGE HERE-- The latest tactic being employed against gun owners is to dehumanize them; to portray them as something less than a full-fledged member of society. Some have even called for the deaths of gun owners and advocates. The most recent bigot to jump on the bandwagon is comedian Jim Carrey who tweeted that “Any[one] who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting.” Let’s look at how many Americans he just insulted. Extrapolating from already released ATF data, the number of new guns purchased...

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, NRA President David Keene said gun-control activists threatened to kill his son and daughter. The threats began soon after the Newtown, Conn., shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, which thrust the NRA to the forefront of the gun control debate. “Civility is only required of us, civility doesn’t count for them,” the NRA president told The Caller. is set to publish the interview on Monday, Feb. 4.

The Facebook group "I hate it when I wake up and Sarah Palin is still alive" has surpassed 3,300 "likes." The founder explicitly says, "This is a page about venting dislike over Sarah Palin. This is no way advocates an assassination of Sarah Palin in any way, shape or form." The fact that the group's name specifically wishes for her death is one thing that dispels that ludicrous statement. The second is its main picture, which clearly shows what the group advocates: ...Oddly, the group has also denounced President Obama, calling him "conservative."

“Hundreds” of death threats have been made against the president of the National Rifle Association just since the first of this year. And those threats reflect President Obama’s political tactics. That’s what NRA President David Keene told talk show host Ernest Istook on Thursday. Keene says those threats reflect attempts by the Left and by President Obama “to demonize and blame those who disagree with him for everything he doesn’t like.” Keene also is literally targeted by a video game that invites people to shoot him, which he calls the “Kill David Keene” game. The good news, according to Keene,

I heard a very interesting tidbit of information during the podcast of the second hour of Roger Hedgecock‘s Jan. 17 show. It did not surprise me – not one iota – but it was very interesting in light of the fact that since Lord Obama ascended to the throne in 2009, our government has been realigned to brand conservatives as violent threats…while doing everything they can to downplay the threat of Islamic extremism and other enemies of our country. Things have become so upside-down in the Obama government that the Combating Terrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy at West...

I saw something today that upset and deeply disturbed me. I was walking past my son's bedroom, where he spends all his time on his computer playing those damn games of his. I stopped when I heard the sound of Wayne LaPierre's voice as he gave his speech about the Newtown massacre. I was surprised my son, who is just 14, was getting involved in anything political, but I was glad he was exposing himself to the right people. I opened the door, intending to tell him how proud I was, when the image on the screen stopped me cold....

Chicago Teachers Union President: ‘Off With Their Heads!’ By Elizabeth Harrington January 9, 2013 (CNSNews.com) – Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis said union opponents “think nothing about killing us” and that “wealth disparity” in America today mirrors the 19th century when labor leaders then used to be “ready to kill,” to chop people’s heads off. “We are at a moment when the wealth disparity in this country is very reminiscent of the robber-baron ages,” Lewis said at the Illinois Labor History Society on Jan. 5. “The labor leaders of that time, though, were ready to kill — just really,...

The Chicago Teachers Union is not just about looking out for its members’ interests. The union wants to fundamentally change America, too. That shift occurred when the radical Karen Lewis was elected as its president two years ago. She’s best known for mocking U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s lisp and for taking on - and defeating - Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in the district’s first teachers’ strike in a generation. CTU leaders have been on a victory lap of sorts since the September strike, with union activists seeing themselves as protectors of union power during a time of membership...

After seeing the new Quentin Tarantino movie "Django Unchained," a number of moviegoers issued violent and racist tweets expressing a desire to kill white people, Twitchy reported Sunday. "Seeing Django reignited my desire to kill white people," said "Flex." The tweet had been deleted, but many more were available. "After watching Django, all I wanna do is shoot white people," another person said. "We need a modern dy django to kill some white people (sic)," tweeted another
