OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canada's Liberal Party said on Thursday it was launching an ethics complaint against the Conservative government, charging it was playing partisan politics with stimulus programs. The Liberals lodged the complaint against Prime Minister Stephen Harper and 47 other legislators for putting their signatures at the bottom of oversized publicity checks used in announcing federal grants for infrastructure programs and other economic stimulus measures. In the case of at least two members of Parliament, they said, the Conservative Party logo was also on the checks. The Liberals have asked Ethics Commissioner Mary Dawson to rule that putting legislators'...

They did it to Rush Limbaugh. Who will be next? I am sure Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and others on the Left are struggling to contain their overwhelming feelings of glee and power. They did it! Their campaign of lies and slander portraying Rush Limbaugh as a racist achieved its goal. Rush was dropped from a team bidding to purchase an NFL football team. Rush's dismissal is a victory for political correctness, despicable reporting and high tech lynching. No need to fact check racist accusations against Rush, although a few researchers have pursued and failed to find the alleged racist...

After showcasing the histories of the lib smear merchants last night, Mark Levin turned to Dave Checketts. The latter "went to Rush" with the deal and now has backed out after the liberals maliciously repeated lies. (After the jump: audio of Mark Levin plus a brief video about a small circle of jerks and evidence of what perhaps a civil court jury will find to be their slander.)

On Tuesday’s Countdown show, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann spewed bile at conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, accusing her of possessing "fascistic hatred," and comparing her to a "mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it." During his show’s regular "Worst Person" segment, Olbermann attacked Malkin for her role in bringing attention to the recent controversy over school children in New Jersey singing a song about President Obama.

MSNBC contributor Touré on Wednesday continued the network's vitriolic, slanderous attacks on Rush Limbaugh. Discussing the radio host’s bid to buy the St. Louis Rams, the cable commentator smeared, "Several NFL players have already said they would not play for Rush because they know he would love to say he owns a plantation full of black men." [Audio available here.] When Morning Meeting host Dylan Ratigan mock protested, "No, they don't know that," the one-named Touré reiterated, "They feel it." Ratigan gave in and played along, "Okay, they feel that." Despite calls from the Media Research Center, MSNBC has repeatedly...

Ever since it was learned that radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was attempting to buy a share of the St. Louis Rams NFL franchise there has been a steady drumbeat to prevent this. The approach of those who oppose this is fairly predictable. They use race-baiting. There is a certain element in the United States – and you can add Western Europe – that labels as racism any criticism or parody of any issue or person who is African-American or Hispanic-American. Occasionally, this accusation is justified. Most of the time it is not, it is simply a smear tactic...

Detained Academy Award-winning director and convicted sex offender Roman Polanski may have the support of some famous faces in the film industry, but don’t count Jamie Foxx among them. According to the actor, he only needs to imagine the 1977 case against Polanski is a personal one to find his feelings. “If it had been my daughter who was barely a teenager — my daughter is 15 — Roman Polanski would be missing ... period,” Foxx stated in an interview with Parade magazine

To ensure that psychiatry “permeate every educational activity of national life” and “infiltrate the professional and social activities of [all] people” was a global goal that originated with British Brigadier General Dr. John Rawlings Rees in a 1940 speech to the National Council for Mental Hygiene. He ended on an ominous note: “Though our knowledge be incomplete … I think we must imitate the Totalitarians and organize some kind of fifth column activity.” Canadian colleague Dr. Brock Chisholm chimed in with sinister comments of his own at the close of the war in 1946, in a speech to the World...

When the BBC finally ‘fessed up last week to the Global Warming Fraud -- without admitting how much they aided and abetted the scam over ten years or more -- a liberal gent I know was shocked. He had sort of gritted his teeth and tolerated my skepticism over the years, but he never wanted to judge the whole fraudulent business for himself, although he had plenty of qualifications to do so. But this fraud was obvious. You had to want to close your eyes not to see it. I say that with all appreciation to the scientists and bloggers...

A group of aging hippie wannabes grandiosely calling themselves the "Cigna Seven" got themselves arrested by "the man" on Thursday. You'd be excused if you weren't aware of this because the media pretty much just yawned at the exploits of these few goof balls. These elder statesmen of the wacko set got themselves pinched by the fuzz as they sat their graying, age spreading rear-ends in the entryway of Cigna Corp.'s Midwest offices in downtown Chicago. The charges were, of course, trespassing but they should have been charged with impersonating a serious American. One of the idiotic things these nuts...

NEWARK, Del. — Finding character witnesses when you are 6 years old is not easy. But there was Zachary Christie last week at a school disciplinary committee hearing with his karate instructor and his mother’s fiancé by his side to vouch for him. Zachary’s offense? Taking a camping utensil that can serve as a knife, fork and spoon to school. He was so excited about recently joining the Cub Scouts that he wanted to use it at lunch. School officials concluded that he had violated their zero-tolerance policy on weapons, and Zachary now faces 45 days in the district’s reform...

Consider nature...as Tennyson saw it, "red in tooth and claw." To glimpse a state of nature as Hobbes imagined it, where human life is "nasty, brutish and short," visit the Whole Foods store on River Road in Bethesda...you will see proof of this social equation: Four Priuses + three parking spaces = angry anarchy. Anger is one of the seven deadly sins. Therefore advanced thinkers are agreed that conservatives are especially susceptible to it. As everyone knows, all liberals are advanced thinkers and all advanced thinkers are liberals. And yet... Recently Paul Schwartzman, a war correspondent for The Post, ventured...

Obama is the third sitting U.S. President to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Woodrow Wilson received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919. Theodore Roosevelt, the first U.S. President to receive the award, took it in 1906. How do Barack Obama’s 12 full days of accomplishments compare to the accomplishments of Wilson and Roosevelt? The Nobel people say Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize (and its million dollar bounty) for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." “EXTRAORDINARY.” Let’s dig deeper into Obama’s “extraordinary” efforts in his first 12 days in office since this was the...

WASHINGTON – Gee, you'd think a U.S. president who won the Nobel Peace Prize might get rave reviews from his party's activists and polite congrats from top Republicans. But news of Barack Obama's award Friday drew a rebuke from the Republican Party chairman, ridicule from conservative bloggers, and even gripes from some liberals who think he hasn't done enough to wind down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. ... Former President Jimmy Carter,.. "bold statement of international support for his vision and commitment." And former Vice President Al Gore, .. prize was "extremely well deserved."

He's received commendations from the City of Troy and the Boy Scouts of America for saving a woman's life, and this past summer, he completed Army basic training. “As a white running back you get stereotyped,” Stanford University running back Toby Gerhart said during an interview in the October 12, 2009 edition of Sports Illustrated. “When I tell people I play football they say, ‘Oh, you’re a fullback,’” he said. For those unfamiliar with the sport, fullbacks are running backs who rely more on strength then speed. However, they rarely carry the ball. Their role is usually reserved to block for the running back. Gerhardt then mentioned during one football game that he overheard a coach from the University of Washington refer to him by yelling,...

The total lack of respect among some of the young punks roaming the streets of America is absolutely appalling. They have no respect for their teachers, parents, law enforcement, neighbors, America, the rule of law, any authority or themselves. Some punks have no respect for your life or their own pathetic lives, and that makes them extremely dangerous. Rarely does a week go by that I don't read an article or hear of a teacher being attacked by one of these vicious punks in our schools. As I write this from moose camp in the Yukon Territory, this past week...

David Letterman's sensational sex scandal has triggered a $300 million divorce war between the 62-year-old talk-show host and his outraged wife Regina, say sources close to the star. The couple - who lived together for years before marrying March 19 - are fighting over everything from his extensive property holdings to custody of their son Harry, 6, according to insiders. "It's become a real battle," revealed a Late Show insider. "Regina is humiliated, and she wants to get even with David for his public admission he cheated on her repeatedly during their 23-year relationship." Letterman stunned his fans when he...

Not only is Fox News Contributor Marc Lamont Hill an admirer of convicted cop killer and radical Icon Mumia Abu-Jamal, he's also his publisher. AIM's Cliff Kincaid discovered that Abu-Jamal has been promoted on Hill's now-deleted myspace site; but it goes even further. For two years, I read Hill's blog daily. His views are indeed radical. He frequently praised Castro and Khallid Muhammed, along with other criminals and dictators. Here's Abu-Jamal's warm introduction by Hill: "I am thrilled to announce that Mumia Abu-Jamal has joined the Barbershop as a weekly contributor!! His column, 'Live from Death Row', will appear every...

Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., is weighing a plan to bring the final health care bill to the floor without a public option -- making it much easier to get the 60 votes needed to prevent a Republican filibuster -- and then adding the provision later as an amendment. The public option amendment would be there waiting, but the 60-vote test would technically be on a bill without the government plan. Then moderate Democrats could drop out for the vote on the public option, which requires just 51 votes for passage. Reid has not revealed whether he will use this...

The history of all ancient societies is the history of class struggle. In each of these we find a complicated arrangement of people into various social, economic, and political orders. Ancient Rome had its patricians, knights, plebeians, and slaves. During the middle ages there were three orders; oratores, bellatores, laborares: this translates as "those who pray", "those who fight", and "those who work". In the 20th Century we have manage to simplify class antagonism via two distinctive groups who are hostile towards and in direct opposition to each others. They are known simply as The Left, and The Right. Therein...

John Carpenter’s “They Live” is an interesting Sci-Fi film. Released in 1988, “They Live” chronicles a time where the American middle class is being reduced to poverty and the gap between the Haves and Have-nots is greater than ever before. In Carpenter’s tale, the downturn of America’s working class is the result of a well planned strategy created by an invading skull-faced civilization from another planet, and a coalition of the elite, most powerful businessmen and politicians on Earth. Not surprisingly the general public is kept in the dark through a constant stream of subliminal signals, stealthy messages and propaganda...

I wrote this piece on the race card being used over the course of this last year. I linked another blog, as I can't link my examiner.com stuff. There is a nice graphic of the new race card that may be handed to you, or perhaps you can hand it to one of your friends. Excerpt: After the election, which President-elect Barack Obama won handily, there was the continuation of the anti-bailout protests. The leftists of Code Pink and some libertarian protesters were joined by fiscal conservatives and independents in what became known as the Tea Parties. These protests railed...

A new, conservative friend cracks up when she hears my phone message. As a therapist, I'm required to state, "If this is a psychiatric emergency, please call 911." Roaring with laughter, she says, "Robin, the whole country is having a psychiatric emergency!" And she's right, because people running this country are off: off balance, off-world, off-putting, off their meds. Gallows humor, a knot in your stomach when Obama speaks, poor sleep. Your body is telling you that something is wrong. Even out here, things are starting to feel spooky. While it's always weird central in Berkeley, now there's a malaise...

Throughout the Bush presidency, a new golden age was promised to the American people if they would just put liberals in charge of the government. That happened last November after Obama's election and the strengthening of liberal majorities in Congress. But after ten months in power, liberals now appear to be a bunch of posers. "Poser" is slang for a person falsely claiming skills, smarts and connections. That guy at the club who says he hangs with Kanye when everyone knows he lives in his mom's basement and works at Popeye's? Poser. Posers are now running our government. Liberals claimed...

National Review senior editor Jay Nordlinger opines on the increasing injection of partisan politics into sports writing: Sarah Palin comes in for a lot of abuse from sportswriters, as you might expect. Here is an item from Sports Illustrated’s website —the subject is baseball (really): “Imagine for a minute that you had free reign [sic] to add any three players to your team for the second half, while punishing a heated [hated?] rival by tagging them with three more of your choice. That’s basically the essence of this week’s revised format: three players who will heat up post-All-Star break and...

Considering America’s now rampant economic illiteracy and widespread ignorance of history and philosophy, I wonder whether we’re now past the tipping point and the American Dream is doomed? Return to the Article October 04, 2009Unexpected Outgrowths of the Tea Party MovementBy Lloyd Marcus Is God back? While watching the Glenn Beck program, three women, yes I said three, boldly proclaimed their Christianity and how their decision to follow Christ has affected their politics. Other than religious programs, people do not talk about their faith on TV without being portrayed as fanatics or nut cases. It was truly refreshing. Could this mean God is back from exile from the public square? Another Beck show guest was a black man, Charles V. Payne, founder, CEO and Chief Analyst of...

Reactions to the extradition of the fugitive filmmaker show a sharp divide. From Michael Moore's politics to on-screen sex and violence, the movie business is constantly being assailed for not sharing the country's values. Rarely has the morality argument been as rancorous as with the Roman Polanski case. Hollywood is rallying behind the fugitive filmmaker. Top filmmakers are signing a pro-Polanski petition, Whoopi Goldberg says the director didn't really commit rape, and Debra Winger complains "the whole art world suffers" in such arrests. The rest of the nation seems to hold a dramatically different perspective on Polanski's weekend capture. Even...

First, there was: "He's a brilliant guy, and he made a little mistake 32 years ago." Next came: "Whatever you think about the so-called crime . . . it is a shocking way to treat such a man." And, then: "I know it wasn't rape-rape. It was something else, but I don't believe it was rape-rape." Roman Polanski's apologists -- as typified by the comments of Swiss filmmaker Otto Weisser, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, film and TV celebrity Whoopi Goldberg -- don't let basic facts, or even simple decency for that matter, get in the way of their defense of...

Nearly a month ago many prominent figures in Hollywood and the international world of film signed the Toronto Declaration pushing for the boycott of a film festival that dared to showcase Israeli films. At the end of this month, many prominent figures in Hollywood and the world of film signed a petition calling for the immediate release of the rapist of a 13 year old girl, who also happens to be a major figure in Hollywood and the international world of film, namely one Roman Polanski. It is instructive to watch the same people who lecture Americans on morals and...

WASHINGTON – Students beware: The summer vacation you just enjoyed could be sharply curtailed if President Barack Obama gets his way. Obama says American kids spend too little time in school, putting them at a disadvantage with other students around the globe. "Now, I know longer school days and school years are not wildly popular ideas," the president said earlier this year. "Not with Malia and Sasha, not in my family, and probably not in yours. But the challenges of a new century demand more time in the classroom."
