CNN says its offices in Manhattan have been evacuated because of a suspicious package. The news network reported on Wednesday morning that a police bomb squad was at its offices. *snip* Law enforcement officials say the CNN package was discovered in the mail room. It's not clear yet if it's related to the other packages.

The Justice Department’s inspector general says a senior FBI official accepted two tickets to a sports event from a television news correspondent who regularly covered the bureau. In its annual survey on "Confidence in Institutions," Gallup found that only 20% of Americans had a "great deal/quite a lot" of confidence in television news and only 23% had such confidence in newspapers. . . . In an update, Gallup emphasized that strong confidence in higher education has declined, from 57% in 2015 to 48% in 2018, a drop of 9 percentage points. "No other institution has shown a larger drop in confidence over the past three years than higher education," reported Gallup.

Media giant Meredith Corporation has agreed to sell Time Magazine for $190 million, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.
