Brown was 9 years old when her father, Oliver Brown, tried to enroll her at Sumner Elementary School, then an all-white school in Topeka, Kansas.

SAN FRANCISCO — Texas and more than a dozen other states led by Republican governors are supporting the Trump administration in its lawsuit over California’s so-called sanctuary laws that protect people in the U.S. illegally. In a court filing Monday, the states say the laws are designed to interfere with or block federal immigration enforcement, and California doesn’t have that authority.

A London court on Wednesday ordered Christopher Steele, author of the anti-Trump dossier, to submit to questions from American attorneys suing him for libel on behalf of a Russian entrepreneur. A senior master in the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench, rejected Mr. Steele’s argument that British law prohibited an ex-spy such as himself from testifying. “On Mr. Steele’s behalf it was said that the examination would be prohibited by English law which is untrue,” said the 39-page order obtained by the Washington Times. A former Playboy model who claimed she had an affair with Donald J. Trump sued on Tuesday to be released from a 2016 legal agreement requiring her silence, becoming the second woman this month to challenge Trump allies’ efforts during the presidential campaign to bury stories about extramarital relationships. The model, Karen McDougal, is suing the company that owns The National Enquirer, American Media Inc., which paid her $150,000 and whose chief executive is a friend of President Trump’s. The other woman, the adult entertainment star Stephanie Clifford, better known as Stormy Daniels, was paid $130,000 to stay quiet by...

President Donald Trump and his personal attorney are trying to get a lawsuit by adult film star Stormy Daniels transferred to federal court — and they claim she's on the hook for at least $20 million for violating a secrecy agreement signed just before the election. An attorney for the actress accused the Trump team of "bullying tactics" for the legal maneuver, which is aimed at pushing the dispute into private arbitration. "To put it simply, they want to hide the truth from the American people. We will oppose this effort at every turn," said Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing...

After firing a stolen gun and killing Kate Steinle on the San Francisco waterfront in 2015, and then getting away with it in front of a leftwing jury which signaled motivation to strike back at President Trump, do you think Jose Ines Garcia-Zarate, is going away quietly? Do you think the five-times-deported illegal alien drug dealer and transient, with a record of seven felonies, will just allow himself to be deported, and then come back as he always does? Nope, not the case. He's apparently gotten a pile of leftwing-lawyer backing to sue the federal government over his 'vindictive...

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was set to officially retire on March 18, but according to a source familiar with the matter, he could be fired just days before and lose his pension after a more than two-decade career at the bureau. The embattled official abruptly stepped down at the end of January and has been on leave since that time. CNN has learned the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility has recommended McCabe be fired and now the decision is up to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

YouTube Shows Dennis Prager's Claim Of Discrimination Against Conservatives Is Laughable You will recall that Dennis Prager, the conservative commentator who also runs a YouTube channel to inform his viewers of his perspective on a variety of topics, recently sued YouTube. The meat of Prager's claims is that YouTube is censoring some of his videos purely because he is a conservative -- with the clear implication being that YouTube is a liberal bastion of conservative-hating video hosting. Just to be clear, there is no real evidence for that. What there is evidence for is that YouTube is trying very hard...
  • ACLU Sues DHS to Force Release of Migrants With Children

The pro-migration ACLU is suing the Department of Homeland Security to help economic migrants use children to smuggle themselves into the United States. President Donald Trump’s DHS tries to detain all migrants pending their asylum hearing because it is easier to repatriate migrants homewards when they lose their hearing. The detention policy is also intended to prevent migrants from walking away and then disappearing into the United States, and also to deter future migration. When groups of migrants — the so-called “family units” of adults and children — appear at the border, DHS prioritizes its limited number of detention beds...

The family of slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against Fox News, one of the network's reporters, and a wealthy Texas businessman over their roles in the publication of a baseless conspiracy theory about Rich's 2016 death. The lawsuit, filed in US District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeks compensation for "mental anguish and emotional distress, emotional pain and suffering, and any other physical and mental injuries."

Please refer to my previous article on the Southern Poverty Law Center at http://investmentwatchblog.com/how-do-those-targeted-by-the-southern-poverty-law-center-survive-the-persecution/ In the above article, I ask the question how those targeted by the Southern Poverty Law Center as “hate” groups survive that persecution? It is a question which I find perplexing and horrifying at the same time. The SPLC has been assigned by Google to censor those groups it considers to be “hate” groups. The decision is at the SPLC’s discretion, while being given free reign of censorship by Google, who owns YouTube and basically the Internet. The most horrifying aspect of this censorship is the...
  • Schwarzenegger Wants To Sue Oil Companies For Murder? They've Helped Lift Billions Out Of Poverty

Climate change expert Arnold Schwarzenegger recently declared that he will be suing oil companies for murder because use of their product is warming the planet. Here's a better idea: Thank the oil industry for contributing to unprecedented prosperity around the world. Speaking to Politico during the SXSW festival in Texas, Schwarzenegger said that he will be mounting a lawsuit against oil companies "for knowingly killing people all over the world." "This is no different from the smoking issue," Schwarzenegger said. "The oil companies knew from 1959 on, they did their own study that there would be global warming happening because...
  • Can ‘Texas v. United States’ Set Us Free From Obamacare?

Ignore everything you have been told by the “news” media about Texas v. United States, the lawsuit recently filed by 20 states challenging the constitutionality of Obamacare. The Fourth Estate, in its all but official role as the public relations department of the Democratic Party, has generally downplayed the suit as yet another futile attempt by fanatical Republicans bent on destroying former President Obama’s “legacy.” Following their usual playbook for reporting constitutional challenges to the “Affordable Care Act” the media briefly sneered about its merits and then, to paraphrase David Burge, “covered the story with a pillow.” It is nonetheless...

Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions warned California on Wednesday that "there is no secession" from federal jurisdiction as he appeared before members of the California Peace Officers Assn. in Sacramento to announce a lawsuit against three so-called "sanctuary state" laws. To no one's surprise, his claims drew immediate rebukes from state officials. Gov. Jerry Brown's initial response after the suit was filed late Tuesday stands as one of the better jabs in this political fight: "At a time of unprecedented political turmoil, Jeff Sessions has come to California to further divide and polarize America. Jeff, these political stunts may be the...

The National Rifle Association has filed a federal lawsuit against the state of Florida for infringing upon the Second Amendment rights of thousands of its citizens. Florida state passed a new gun control bill on Wednesday in response to the horrific mass shooting in Parkland, The law bans the sales of firearms to adults between the ages of 18-21, among other actions such as banning bump stocks and requiring a waiting period when purchasing guns. FL. Gov. Rick Scott signed the bill into law earlier today. But, in a complaint filed Friday, the pro-Second Amendment organization said the government was...

Gov. Rick Scott signed into law Friday a bill imposing restrictions on gun sales and arming some teachers and school employees, a stark reversal of a two-decade push to ease gun regulations in Florida. The National Rifle Association filed a lawsuit against the new law in federal court almost immediately after it was signed, contending the bill’s ban on gun sales to those under 21 was a violation of the Second Amendment.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — UPDATE (6:15 p.m.): The National Rifle Association has filed a federal lawsuit over gun control legislation Florida Gov. Rick Scott has signed, saying it violates the Second Amendment by raising the age to buy guns from 18 to 21. The lawsuit came just hours after Gov. Scott, a Republican, signed the compromise bill Friday afternoon. Lawyers for the NRA want a federal judge to block the new age restriction from taking effect. The new legislation raises the minimum age to buy rifles from 18 to 21, extends a three-day waiting period for handgun purchases to include...

California's three new "sanctuary" laws, challenged in court this week by the Trump administration, face different hurdles and have varying vulnerabilities, legal experts said Wednesday. Law professors who read the lawsuit filed by Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions generally described it as a credible challenge that presents complex legal questions that might wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court. "The arguments made by the Justice Department are not at all lightweight arguments," said Pepperdine law school professor Douglas W. Kmiec. "They are quite substantial." The federal government has wide authority over matters of immigration, and Sessions has charged that California's new...

A federal appeals court on Wednesday rejected the U.S. government's bid to halt a lawsuit by young people claiming that President Donald Trump and his administration are violating their constitutional rights by ignoring the harms caused by climate change. By a 3-0 vote, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said the administration had not met the "high bar" under federal law to dismiss the Oregon lawsuit, which was originally brought in 2015 against the administration of President Barack Obama. The potentially far-reaching case is one of a handful seeking to have courts address global warming and...

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) – A federal judge on Monday refused to order the Trump Administration to pay California $1 million in delayed law enforcement funding it withheld to punish it for becoming a sanctuary state. U.S. District Judge William Orrick ruled in an afternoon order that it was too soon to tell which party’s interpretation of laws governing cooperation between state employees and federal immigration authorities would prevail. Because “the amount of money at stake is small compared to the state’s budget,” he concluded, California hadn’t shown it would suffer irreparable harm without the $1 million while the case is...
