http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/3/6/121052.shtml Well isn't this intresting. The "objective news media" supposed 9-11 surviors protesting Bush's ads are actually anti-war stooges financed by John Kerry's wife. Please take a moment and vist the New York Times, Washington Post, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC etc to email the Omsbudsman, the Publisher, the News Editor and demand to know why they allowed clearly partisan advocates of Kerry's Presidential Campaign were presented on their "News" programs with no reference to their ties to the Kerry camp. We absolutely must demand the "News Media" be held accountable for their free advertising for the Kerry camp.

http://www.georgewbush.com/tvads/ Here is a link to the 1st three Bush Re-election ads. As expected the DNC directed its "Objective News Media" mouthpieces at CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC to generate phoney hysteria about these ads. Compared to the demogagery and lies spread by the Kerry Campaign, Moveon.org and the DNC about Bush for the last 6 months, this is probably the mildest sets of ads that have run so far this political season. Please email this link to every person on you email contact list. We need to get as many people as possible to see these ads. They are...

Conservatives should write in Tom Tancredo in the primary ballot to demonstrate the depth of concern we have with the President. If enough do this, he will get the message.

SENATE RACE WON'T BE THAT CROWDED by Jim Brown PoliticsLA.com columnist posted January 7, 2004 Following the intense interest in the recent gubernatorial election, the general assumption has been that there will be a number of major candidates vying to fill the U. S. Senate seat being vacated this fall by long time incumbent John Breaux. Not so! When qualification time comes around, you can count the number of major candidates on one hand. Numerous newspaper columns have touted several unsuccessful gubernatorial candidates as sure qualifiers. The columns point to the 1996 race when Mary Landrieu bounced back from a...

LOUISIANA SENATE PRESIDENT CONSIDERS ANOTHER PARTY SWITCH. Louisiana State Senate President John Hainkel (R) enjoys his leadership job and wants to have a good working relationship with incoming Governor Kathleen Blanco (D). Blanco -- who is replacing a term-limited GOP incumbent -- let it be known she'd like the next House Speaker and Senate President to be Democrats, according to CQ Politics Today. Hainkel told the New Orleans Times-Picayune that the most important thing to him is retaining his leadership post: "Maybe I’ll be [a] Democrat ... If that is the biggest freakin’ thing ... to [Blanco], I’d change my...

Bobby Rantel, the first Indian-American politico , 30 years old is the leading candidate for La.'s race for governor. He is an unabashed conservative, against abortion, gay marriage, for fiscal responsibility. He has given the state's Health Services a surplus after years of deficit. Endorsed by Gov. Mike Forster. All the opponents are years older than Rantel and he has caught fire with the voting 'bubbas' of La.

<p>BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Legislators left the Capitol Monday, and one of their constant critics, ex-Legislative Auditor Dan Kyle, was in the deserted building Wednesday, slamming them for failing to replace him.</p>
<p>Kyle is running for governor on a platform that features regular shots at what he terms "good old boys" in politics. Many of them are in the Legislature, in Kyle's view, and their dithering over his successor in three months of lawmaking was no accident, according to the maverick Republican.</p>

Last cycle, much of the action in Senate races took place in the Midwest, with competitive races in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and Missouri ultimately deciding which party would control the chamber. This cycle, the South is the scene of many of the significant races, and that’s terrible news for the Democrats, who continue to lose ground in a region that once constituted their party’s bedrock. In addition to Georgia Sen. Zell Miller (D), who has already announced he won’t seek re-election, at least four other Southern Democrats may well retire: Sens. Fritz Hollings (S.C.), John Edwards (N.C.), Bob Graham...

State Elections Commissioner Suzie Terrell and state Representative Tony Perkins, both failed Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate last year, will seek statewide office in this fall's elections. Terrell, who lost 52 to 48 percent to U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, says she will run for attorney general. Currently, Richard Ieyoub (D) holds the positon, but is running for governor. Terrell is a mixed big, with high name recognition and access to top GOP fundraisers, but the negative tone of last year's Senate race will likely have taken its toll on her. The only other candidate in the race is Orleans...

Then there were nine. Three of the dozen major candidates for governor dropped out of the race Thursday. A fourth may soon follow. Republicans state Sen. Ken Hollis and former Gov. Dave Treen said they would pull out of the race at a news conference attended by reporters, politicians, bystanders and outgoing Gov. Mike Foster. State Treasurer John Kennedy, a Democrat, issued a news release Thursday saying he was out of the race and would instead run for re-election. The Republican dropouts came after a gathering Monday of powerful Republican contributors from across the state to interview four candidates: state...

BATON ROUGE - Two Republicans and a Democrat are dropping out of the Louisiana gubernatorial race today in a major seismic development that shook the political landscape Wednesday. Former Gov. Dave Treen and state Sen. Ken Hollis of Metairie will endorse state Rep. Hunt Downer of Houma, who is emerging as the consensus Republican candidate. "It will all shake out and shape up within the month," Downer said. "I'm excited." Democratic state Treasurer John Kennedy, who has canceled fund-raisers, will issue a public statement this morning that he is dropping out, a development that probably most benefits former Senate President...

Public Service Commission Chairman and gubernatorial candidate Jay Blossman (R-Mandeville) has become the first Republican candidate to take to the airwaves, launching an aggressive statewide media campaign that began on Sunday. The current statewide buy is the beginning of a six-month media blitz designed to unveil Blossman’s Roadmap to Reform, his “detailed plan to turn our state around.” “Our goal is to bring Jay’s dramatic message of immediate, conservative reform to the voters. We’re going to let them know that help is on the way,” said campaign manager Jay Connaughton, whose firm, Innovative Advertising, produced the commercials. “We will dominate...

By SCOTT DYER sdyer@theadvocate.com Capitol news bureau LAFAYETTE -- Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu's bid for a second term will hinge largely on the turnout in Saturday's runoff election, and her supporters are mobilizing to get voters to the polls. The Landrieu campaign has names of voters who cast ballots in precincts that supported her on Nov. 5 and intends to use the lists to get out the vote for the runoff. "If people vote, Mary wins -- and if people don't vote or vote in lower numbers, Mary doesn't win. It's just that simple," U.S. Sen. John Breaux, D-La.,...

By MARSHA SHULER mshuler@theadvocate.com Capitol news bureau METAIRIE -- Republican U.S. Senate candidate Suzanne Terrell pumped up her GOP campaign troops Thursday, promising to work hard for tax relief for Louisiana working women and families. "It's unfair to work so hard and get so little back," Terrell said. "It's important that we make President Bush's tax cuts permanent," she told a cheering crowd of local politicians and party activists in this Republican stronghold. The so-called marriage penalty on income taxes and inheritance taxes should be abolished so taxpayers can keep more of their money, Terrell said. That's the best way...

Note: Links show how the facts of the case this article describes correspond to patterns uncovered in San Francisco's stadium election investigation. Earlier this year in an office building in the New Orleans suburb of Metairie, witnesses were still talking about the 1996 election for the U.S. Senate in which Democrat Mary Landrieu defeated Republican Louis "Woody" Jenkins. "This nice person drove up and asked whether I was registered," one woman said to the lawyers and investigators for Jenkins. "I told him I was but I didn't feel like going. He said, 'If I paid you, would you go?' I...

<p>BATON ROUGE -- An already-bitter U.S. Senate campaign got personal Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of a taped debate between Democrat Sen. Mary Landrieu and Republican state Elections Commissioner Suzanne Haik Terrell.</p>
<p>After a tense 30-minute segment finished taping at WDSU's studios in New Orleans, the two candidates were preparing to leave. According to witnesses, Landrieu looked over her shoulder and told Terrell, "This is your last campaign."</p>

<p>She was an odds-on favorite to win in the first balloting until she began a precipitous fall about 10 days before the primary. Apparently feeling the heat generated by her campaign's downward slide, Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu now says she wants to offer a $100 billion payroll tax cut.</p>

Croure Scores "The Great Debate"Landrieu's Positives:She was very smooth as usual and in command of the issues. I felt that the debate allowed her to address a number of topics on which she had studied her statements and positions very thoroughly. Landrieu's Negatives:On several occasions, she came across as evasive, especially on the issue of the Bush tax cut. Russert had a hard time getting her to commit on the abortion question as well. By mentioning her 91% voting record with the NAACP, Landrieu showed how she is trying to be all things to all people, especially since she says...

A survey conducted by Wilson Research Strategies for Susan B. Anthony List shows Suzanne Haik Terrell leading incumbent U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu by 8% among likely run-off voters. The poll conducted on Nov. 10-12 by Wilson Research Strategies surveyed 503 likely run-off voters in Louisiana. The margin of era is +/-4.4% at the 95% confidence level. The survey also showed that Terrell performs much better with her base than does Landrieu. Among registered Republican voters, Terrell acquires 73% of the vote compared to 16% for Landrieu. With registered Democrats Landrieu nets 51% with Terrell receiving 42% of the vote. The...

Early polls taken by the GOP indicate Terrell has broken out to a small lead over Landrieu. Inasmuch as there have been no polls released by the Democrats, we can safely assume their numbers reflect about the same thing.

Tuesday was a massacre for the democrats. They had no message and the polling was horrible. I have always been skeptical about polls and it appears that most of the pre-election polls were off. So why did the republicans do so well? George Bush deserves much of the credit, but let's not forget about the great candidates we had. 90% od our candidates were experienced and did well in their debates. The democrats did have a message. It was "no" to whatever being asked. The get nothing done senate was another reason. No bills and no judges were coming out...

Cheney starts GOP parade BATON ROUGE - Vice President Dick Cheney is leading the parade for Republican Suzanne Haik Terrell, whose pollster said she is now leading the U.S. Senate race runoff campaign. Terrell said Monday the White House had confirmed Cheney would campaign for her Monday at stops in Monroe and Lafayette, two key areas for her runoff campaign against Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu. Other national Republican figures expected to come to Louisiana to campaign for and with Terrell include President George W. Bush, whose schedulers must work around the president's European trip planned for next week. "It...

A debate between Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu and her three main Republican opponents, Congressman John Cooksey, State Representative Tony Perkins and Elections Commissioner Suzanne Haik Terrell has just concluded. My thoughts I liked all three Republican candidates and after this debate I still find nothing about them I dislike. Any one of them would make a fine senator. Landrieu was confronted with the obstruction of Bush's judicial nominees. She said she voted for all those that the full Senate voted on, dodging the issue of Leahy's iron fist in the judicial committee. Perkins questioned Cooksey on his feelings on the...

We are a little over two weeks away from the election. So I ask you the same question I asked myself. Who is going to win the battle for the senate? I have done extensive research and watched the trends for a while now, just like many of you. I finished a week ago a statistical analysis of voting trends in Georgia. Let me also state that most elections are referendums on the incumbents. Candidates have to expose the incumbent. Dole failed to do this in 1996. So here are my predictions. GA- Max Cleland is in trouble. Do not...

Liberal Senator Landrieu Mary, Mary, quite contrary how do our taxes grow to Hillary and the DNC you just won't learn to say "No!" With less than a month to go before election day, Mary Landrieu is pretending to be a "conservative Democrat." She is touting a voting record that is "74% in agreement with President Bush" and trying to pretend that the agenda she's advancing isn't out of step with the voters of a state that supported President Bush in 2000. In all honesty, her record isn't the worst in the Senate, but she is being a hypocrite...

G.O.P. Makes a Move in Louisiana Race Republicans see Senator Mary L. Landrieu of Louisiana as a tempting target, given that she is a Democrat in a conservative Southern state. But try as they might, they cannot seem to spoil her prospects for re-election. Representative John Cooksey, who jumped in against her, committed a campaign gaffe with a slur against Arabs. Gov. Mike Foster toyed with the idea of a last-minute entry, but Mr. Foster, an outdoors enthusiast, backed out when he determined that much of the hunting done in Washington is for campaign contributions. Not willing to concede the...

Candidates' names are linked to their official websites. Suzanne Haik Terrell has some interesting positives and possible negatives in this campaign. She is the least...

Foster ponders Senate Governor may run to unseat Landrieu, GOP chief says By MARSHA SHULER mshuler@theadvocate.com Capitol news bureau Gov. Mike Foster is considering becoming a late entry into this fall's U.S. Senate race, the chairman of the state Republican Party said Tuesday. Republican Party Chairwoman Pat Brister said she talked to Foster after hearing rumors that the two-term Republican governor could join a field of GOPers trying to oust Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu. "He confirmed he is thinking about it," Brister said. "Several people have called him and asked him to consider it." Foster, who must leave the...
