Three police officers were shot dead and seven others wounded in Baton Rouge, La., on Sunday, Kip Holden, the mayor-president of East Baton Rouge Parish, said.

Oh no. It's not Barack Obama is getting police officers killed. He is doing it recklessly and irresponsibly. No, he is not the one pulling the trigger. But as president of the United States - an office whose power and prestige he has never understood and certainly not respected the need to wield carefully - he is giving legitimacy to the narrative that police officers, not just a few individual bad apples but on a systemic basis, are out there looking to kill black people.

Police arrested a man for beating to death an ex-con who broke into his Morrisania apartment building, hit his wife and stripped off her clothes Monday night, police said. Earl D. Woman killed when car hits deer Tuesday, January 5, 2016 ~ Updated 4:24 PM Hope Thompson, 49, of Sedgewickville, Missouri, was killed Jan. 4 when the car her daughter was driving struck a deer on Highway 72, three miles east of Patton, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the deer crashed through the windshield of the 2012 Nissan Sentra driven by Rhiannon Thompson, 16, of Sedgewickville, striking both occupants.
