Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has blocked Sen. Jim DeMint’s (R-S.C.) trip to Honduras slated to begin Friday, according to DeMint's office. DeMint’s office informed The Hill of Kerry’s decision Thursday afternoon. On Thursday morning, the freshman Republican announced that he would lead a congressional delegation to Honduras on Friday ahead of the country’s Nov. 29 elections. The U.S. State Department, which acknowledges ousted President Manuel Zelaya as the legitimate ruler of the Central American nation, has said it will not recognize the contests because of ongoing political turmoil. “No U.S. Senator has...

WASHINGTON Sen. Barbara Boxer left little doubt she was having a particularly good time Wednesday. Wearing sunglasses, California's junior Democratic senator made her way to a stage on the east lawn of the Capitol, then stood in front of a huge U.S. flag and waved to a throng of supporters as U2's "It's a Beautiful Day" roared through the loudspeakers. "What a great day!" enthused the senator. "This is like giving birth again!" Boxer was celebrating her alliance with Massachusetts Democratic Sen. John Kerry to introduce a long-awaited bill that, if approved, could land her in the history books....

Ending some nine months of closed-door deliberations, Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and John Kerry (D-Mass.) will release global warming legislation Wednesday that they hope will be the vehicle for broader Senate negotiations and an eventual conference with the House. The bill's authors said last week that they expect to start hearings early next month on the bill, with a markup in Boxer's Environment and Public Works Committee to follow soon thereafter. They also acknowledged that their legislation is just a "starting point" in a bid to win over moderate and conservative Democrats, as well as Republicans. "I hope what we've...

Wake Up John Kerry, this year's deficit is approaching two trillion dollars. The F-22 was canceled leaving us with a gap where the US will have no new bombers and we are fighting two wars. American citizens are protesting all across the country because spending and taxes are way to high and you have the nerve to add a $20 million dollar pork barrel project to honor Ted Kennedy? That's what the former Democratic Party standard bearer is doing. That military spending bill moving through Congress contains a sneaky outlay for Boston that has nothing to do with national defense....

WASHINGTON - A large military spending bill moving through Congress contains a little-noticed outlay for Boston that has nothing to do with national defense: $20 million for an educational institute honoring late Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts. Watchdog groups rap $20m earmark for Kennedy institute The earmark, tucked into the defense bill at the request of Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, requires US taxpayers to help the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate realize its goal of building a repository for Kennedy’s papers and an accompanying civic learning center

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- New York businessman and prominent Democratic fund- raiser Hassan Nemazee was indicted Monday for allegedly defrauding three banks out of $292 million in loans. Nemazee, 59 years old, was charged with aggravated identity theft and three counts of bank fraud in the indictment. Each bank fraud count carries a term of up to 30 years in prison. A lawyer for Nemazee didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Nemazee, who was involved in various presidential campaigns and once served as finance chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, was initially charged criminally in August related...

To Set The Record Straight, first pubished in 2008, is much more than a history of the 2004 presidential race, and the effects the Swiftboat veterans had on that campaign. TSTRS uses the Swiftboat veterans' story to focus upon the role the mainstream media has played in shaping American public opinion over the past forty years, from the Vietnam War until the recent past. When Senator Kerry decided to make his military record a central part of his campaign, the Swiftboat veterans who knew him the best were angered and sickened. They had had enough, and they decided literally “to...

Sen. John Kerry paid tribute today to Sergeant First Class Jared Monti, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2006. Sen. Kerry attended a Medal of Honor Ceremony earlier today at the White House where President Obama posthumously awarded Monti the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Monti, a native of Raynham, is the first Massachusetts veteran to receive the Medal of Honor since 1970.

As climate change reemerges as an issue in the national policy debate, it may help define the legislative legacies of two men who once vied for the White House: Sens. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.). Both men have championed the issue of global warming for years, including when they served as their party's presidential nominees in 2004 and 2008, respectively. But, for the moment, McCain is barely engaged in the issue beyond criticizing the climate bill passed by the House, while Kerry has emerged as one of the chamber's leading dealmakers. The fact that the two no...

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) kicked off the new campaign on Thursday to create a national security push to pass climate change legislation. Climate change, Kerry argued, will likely trigger some of the most critical threats to national security in the future, and should be addressed with aggressive action this year. His speech was the keynote address at a conference that the American Security Project, a bipartisan national security think tank, hosted at The George Washington University. The event was titled, not so subtly, “The Day Before,” and marks the eve of the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Kerry, chair...

BOSTON (AP) - Sen. John Kerry is positioning himself as the political heir to Edward Kennedy, pledging to thousands of people attending his town hall meeting in Massachusetts that he would fight for the health care overhaul championed by his colleague. More than 2,000 people turned up Wednesday night for Kerry's first public meeting since Kennedy's Aug. 25 death from brain cancer.

John Kerry has written an op-ed for the Huffington Post comparing the inaction in response to a heating planet to the inaction of President Bush before September 11th. Kerry reaches deep into the bag of global warming hysterics to uncork this piece, saying that the fate of the nation hinges upon the passing of some sort of climate change legislation. It's ridiculously over the top, but we suppose it might get a few supporters all riled up and ready to fight for the bill this fall. Of course, it's so over the top that it might just turn off a...

John Kerry has taken on a new persona. He apparently is communicating with the dead. Not since the days of Mary Todd Lincoln, has Washington D.C. experienced this phenom! For those who might not know, Mary Todd Lincoln took to holding seances in the White House after the tragic loss of her young son William from typhoid fever. Now it seems Kerry is doing the same after the death of Ted Kennedy, in hopes of channeling Ted's thoughts into the Democrats health care debate and passing reform legislation. On ABC'S This Week with George Stephanopoulos the topic with Kerry was...

Let's see if we can get some folks to attend John Kerry's townhall this Wednesday evening. It's in Somerville, MA - city next to Cambridge and an old working class city that has become leftwing infested. The reason John Kerry is holding his here is that he knows there are not many of us left that are registered republicans. He knows he's going to have a very friendly audience...unless....we can jam in there. This is the 8th congressional district - Tip Oniel's old district and now Capuano's district. Left of left. If we can stop them here then we can...

Text from above website: ....Join Senator John Kerry and discuss the issues at an open Town Hall in Somerville, MA. The seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to make sure you get in! With so much interest in the health care debate, we’re sure there will be many questions on that, but you are welcome to ask about any issue you would like. Our economy still needs to work better for all Americans, the Senate will take on the issue of energy reform and global climate change in the fall, and our foreign policy still...

Obama Healthcare Logo Looks Like An Acid Trip! The logo makes a rather celestial plea for Obama’s health care reform plan. A stylized caduceus rises ethereally from the fields of Obama. Three heavenly stars grace its crown, while a faint bubble trembles above the silhouttes of expectant Americans. If Uncle Sam himself were tripping, this is probably what he would see... “Santana is going to bring a lot of joy, light, peace and happiness into a place that is basically based on illusion,” “We have to triumph, because we’re bringing the opposite of what Las Vegas is built on.” In...

Here’s a great example of the bogus media pushing their agenda down our throats. A few days ago I saw this headline on CNN: Republican: Palin is Another Huckabee What they failed to mention in the headline is that the Republican, Alex Castellanos, worked for Romney during his 2008 Presidential bid. They also failed to mention the recent poll that had Sarah, Romney and Huckabee as the top three contenders for 2012. So, a more truthful headline for CNN might have been: Romney pays staffer, CNN to slam competitors.

Senator John F. Kerry's office announced today that he’s joining forces with the Discovery Channel to help end the illegal practice of shark finning. Throughout the channel's 22nd annual "Shark Week" of programming, it will run public service announcements and push an online petition to support a bill Kerry introduced in April that would close a loophole for shark fin transport and strengthen enforcement to ensure sharks are transported with their fins attached. In shark finning, fisherman slice off a shark’s fin primarily for use in shark fin soup. But critics say the practice has led to a seventy-five percent...

In response to Sarah Palin’s July 14th Washington Post op-ed, Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA), in their own WaPo op-ed, write they want to “put facts ahead of fiction and real debate ahead of rhetorical bomb-throwing.” Senators Kerry and Boxer will likely be the co-sponsors for the Senate bill to accompany the Waxman-Markey bill passed in the House June 26th. Kerry and Boxer first refute Palin’s claim that job losses are all but certain. Boxer and Kerry assert that investing billions of dollars in clean energy will jumpstart the economy by creating millions of jobs. They point...

WASHINGTON -- Massive crop devastation, melting glaciers, water shortages, millions of displaced people -- all of these will drag the US military into conflict if global climate change goes unchecked, a Senate panel was warned today. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, convened by Senator John F. Great IBD Editorial Regarding My "Cap and Tax" Article Yesterday at 7:20pm The political death of Sarah Palin has been greatly exaggerated. In a devastating op-ed in the Washington Post, Alaska's governor exposes the cap-and-tax fraud that has nothing to do with earth's temperature and everything to do with government control of the economy. She also exposes the stealth socialism ambitions of the Democratic left and once again points out the availability of abundant "shovel-ready" resources under America's soil, off America's shores and even in America's rocks. Judging from the reaction from Sen. Kerry and the political arm of George...

Once again IBD is the voice of common sense and backs Governor Palin with this editorial: Palin Vs. Kerry (And MoveOn.org). Rather then discuss or debate the issue of energy Kerry feels the need to insult Governor Palin. In any debate the side that insults loses the debate as we see with Kerry's response. John Kerry, replying to an op-ed Sarah Palin wrote on cap-and-trade, suggests the Alaska governor "check the view from her front porch." What she sees from there, senator, is energy wealth going to waste.

SAN DIEGO — Catholic Answers is challenging a 2008 Internal Revenue Service ruling that it interfered in the 2004 presidential election by recommending Catholic presidential candidate John Kerry be denied Communion. But one expert on free speech at the University of Notre Dame, Lloyd Mayer, associate professor of law, is worried that this may be “the right principle but the wrong case.”The IRS at first levied an income tax of $102.23 on the San Diego apologetics organization, but returned the money, without reversing its ruling, after Catholic Answers appealed it. Said Catholic Answers’ founder and president, Karl Keating: “It’s the...

Kerry: Palin should check out 'the view from her front porch' Posted: 06:33 PM ET From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart WASHINGTON (CNN) – Call it Kerry vs. Palin, Round 2. Massachusetts Democrat Sen. John Kerry and Alaska's Republican Gov. Sarah Palin are sparring again, this time over climate change and energy policy. Kerry has taken to liberal Web site The Huffington Post to respond to an op-ed by Palin published Tuesday in the Washington Post. Forced abortions. Mass sterilization. A "Planetary Regime" with the power of life and death over American citizens. The tyrannical fantasies of a madman? Or merely the opinions of the person now in control of science policy in the United States? Or both? These ideas (among many other equally horrifying recommendations) were put forth by John Holdren, whom Barack Obama has recently appointed Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology -- informally known as the United States'...

John Kerry Will Hold Oversight Hearings on Obama’s Afghanistan SurgeJuly 10, 2009 01:25 PM ET By John Aloysius Farrell, Thomas Jefferson Street blog I caught up with Sen. John Kerry this week and asked him about, among other things, the U.S. war in Afghanistan. Kerry, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, disclosed that he's decided to hold oversight hearings on the Obama administrations handling of the war. You can read about it at GlobalPost. Kerry is one of the few top government officials who can impact U.S. policy to have fought in Vietnam. He soured on the war, and...

And this is the woman that the State media would lead you to believe has no political future or credibility? Anyone who can so effectively return fire against Senator Horseface is o.k. with me. As an addendum to my recent post on Palin’s resignation, I offer this YouTube video of the governor at her best. And not a teleprompter to be seen. In 2004, Kerry was “swiftboated.” Has the Senator from Massachusetts just been “dogsledded” by a kooky hockey mom from Alaska? You betcha. VIDEO at original article.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin didn’t wait long to jab back at U.S. Sen. John Kerry for his wisecrack this week that it was too bad she hadn’t gone missing instead of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford. Former GOP vice-presidential candidate Palin, in Kosovo visiting troops, said yesterday she wanted to reach out to the Bay State Democratic senator. “He looked quite frustrated and he looked so sad,” she told the troops in comments later posted on YouTube. “I just wanted to reach out to the TV and say: ‘John Kerry, why the long face?’ ” The soldiers broke out in...

You know, Sarah Palin." Palin jabbed at Kerry in return, as you can see the video at my posting "Video Of Governor Palin Speaking To Troops In Kosovo" (She is great, so go watch it.)

Massachusetts Sen. Kerry has joined the fraternity of jokesters using Sarah Palin as a punch line. Kerry was meeting a group of business and civic leaders in the nation's capital when he decided to play comedian, according to The Boston Herald. He was talking about the disappearance of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, the Alaska governor's Republican peer. "Too bad," he said, "if a governor had to go missing it couldn't have been the governor of Alaska. You know, Sarah Palin." Kerry's joke came 24 hours before Sanford turned up to admit an affair with a woman living in Argentina,...

Sen. John Kerry added to his long list of lame joke attempts yesterday when he wished South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's disappearance on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. It's actually no wonder that John Kerry wants Sarah Palin to disappear, except he'd probably like her to vanish completely, since she continues to be the number one threat to the Democrat party. She just may be the next president.

Federal election officials will have a hand in writing the script on Sen. John Kerry's plans to become a movie producer. The Federal Election Commission meets Thursday to consider Kerry's request to use $300,000 from his campaign funds to invest in a documentary about injured Iraq war veterans. The 2004 Democratic presidential nominee wants to be an executive producer for a movie tentatively titled "Keeping Faith," by White Mountain Films. Kerry would not be paid, but he could get up to a 120 percent return on his $300,000 investment, according to a March 16 letter he sent to the FEC...

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. John Kerry must have been channeling his inner Letterman yesterday. The Bay State senator was telling a group of business and civic leaders in town at his invitation about the “bizarre’’ tale of how South Carolina Gov. In this week’s New York Times opinion pages, John Kerry articulates the rationale perhaps underlying President Obama’s reluctance to speak out boldly in support of the uprising in Iran. Kerry’s piece reveals the sickness inherent in his foreign policy perspective. Kerry’s argument boils down to depriving the Iranian leadership of its ability to use words of support for the Iranian people’s protest for freedom against U.S. interests. Kerry concludes, of course, that by staying “tepid,” Obama is appropriately balancing U.S. interests in maintaining Iranian leadership goodwill so that proper negotiations over their nuclear weapons program can eventually proceed. Many liberal...
