FreeRepublic – an online community "I had not been all that politically active prior to President Clinton's election," Robinson recalls. "Yes, I complained about government and politics just like everyone else … but politics was not particularly high on my list of priorities – until Slick came along." Robinson saw that the Clintons had brought a new and dangerous level of corruption to American politics. He could no longer remain aloof. "I knew that the newspapers and news media were lying and I knew that government had been encroaching on our individual rights and that our politicians were as corrupt...

<p>Editor's note: The following is an eye-opening look into New York Times best-selling author Richard Poe's revealing book, "Hillary's Secret War." Whereas Edward Klein's book on the New York senator reveals previously unknown aspects of her personal life, Poe's expose focuses on how Hillary Clinton and the left's "shadow government" have labored to put her and her far-left agenda in the White House by controlling the still-uncensored flow of real news to Americans – via the Internet.</p>

Does Free Republic and Jim Robinson ban those who disagree with them? asks The Conservative Voice. Most all of the posters seek "Anonymity" when replying to the question raised on The Conservative Voice website: Is Free Republic Biased? The San Diego Chapter held a special dinner to honor Jim Robinson. We arrived early at the restaurant only to discover it might be an hour before we could have dinner. The restaurant herded us (22) into the bar so we wouldn't take up their whole lobby, and we all chatted and got acquainted; some imbibed in their favorite beverage. While we were in the bar, a classy looking guy and his wife walked into the bar. He looked so familiar to me .. and all of a sudden somebody said his name .. and WOW! it was Joseph Perkins...

To: Freedom Wins So, it doesn't matter if he [Bush] snorted coke as a youth? It was a long time ago, a youthful in-discretion? Kinda like people who frequented sneakeasies during prohibition? Kind of a cute story, eh? Well, how about all the people whose lives have been destroyed by being arrested for the felony of drug possession? What about the millions of people who are rotting away in your filthy drug infested prisons at this very moment? Well, by God, if you people insist on electing another cokehead as President, you damned well better throw open all the prison...

Hillary's Secret WarThe Clinton Conspiracy to MuzzleInternet Journalistsby Richard Poe Foreword by Jim RobinsonFounder of FreeRepublic.com Author’s Introductionby Richard Poe MANY readers will dismiss this book as a collection of wild-eyed conspiracy theories. Yet strong evidence supports every allegation. Who can deny any longer that Hillary Clinton presided over a "secret police" force, charged with silencing, bribing, blackmailing, intimidating, and otherwise neutralizing Clinton foes? The evidence is frankly overwhelming. "Hillary is not merely an aider and abettor to this secret police operation. She has been its prime instigator and organizer," wrote the late Barbara Olson in...

Hillary's Secret WarThe Clinton Conspiracy to MuzzleInternet Journalistsby Richard Poe Foreword by Jim RobinsonFounder of FreeRepublic.com HILLARY'S SECRET WAR by Richard Poe is the first book Iíve read that really pulls together the story of the Internet underground during the Clinton years. I was thrilled to read it. This story has never been told before, and I'm proud to say that I was part of it, in my own small way. We poured a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into building FreeRepublic.com and organizing a cyber-community of tens of thousands of Freeper activists all over...

Hillary's Secret WarThe Clinton Conspiracy to MuzzleInternet Journalistsby Richard Poe Foreword by Jim RobinsonFounder of FreeRepublic.com Preface by Joseph FarahWND Books Co-Founder THERE were many scandals in the Clinton White House. They were almost too numerous to be chronicled in one book. This book is not an attempt to rehash those familiar to the American public, but rather to expose an agenda behind the most insidious of the scandals, those most threatening to a free republic. This book is about a secret war on political adversaries waged by the most powerful people in the world. It's...

Thank you, Jim Robinson. The Warrior Freeper spirit is the most important change to the Republican party in the last 50 years. The passive, pious and naive GOP were nearly destroyed by the dirty streetfighting tactics of the Clintonized DNC. Make no mistake - despite being on the right side of the issues, despite being the party that carries the torch of the Founding Fathers, alone these are not enough to win the hearts and minds - and votes - of the mindless masses that sway elections. No more. Warrior Freepers have now taken the battle directly to the Socialist...

Is Free Republic too "Republican?" I've been receiving a lot of complaints lately that FR is not really conservative, it's Republican. Is that a bad thing? When I started FR (see the wayback machine) I don't think I even used the labels conservative or Republican. But, even though I was a registered Democrat at the time (I registered when I was very young), I was definitely anti-Democrat. And definitely anti-big government, anti-government corruption, anti-government abuse, anti-liberalism, etc. And I still am. As FR became more and more popular, people started referring to it as a "conservative" web site and so...

Free Republic was never intended as a place for people to bash each other. It's for conservatives to expose fraud and corruption in the government, etc, and to discuss ideas of how to defeat liberalism. Those of you who have some other agenda might have better luck elsewhere. We do allow enough space for some amount of personal fun and goofing around, etc, but I will draw the line eventually when people start getting hurt. If you want to engage in flamewars and personal bashing, please do it somewhere else. Thanks, Jim

One thing I've learned during the last six years or so of hanging around Free Republic is that politics is a dirty game. It may qualify as a runner-up for the understatement of the year, but it seems to me that one of the worst things about politics is that it is made up of politicians. These guys seem to be desperate to get into office and once they've had a taste of power they're even more desperate to hang onto it. Doesn't matter what the Founders had in mind for our Republic and or what they wrote into...

<p>Al Gore says he was terrorized by "busloads of people" organized by the Republican Party, protesting outside the vice presidential residence during the 2000 Florida presidential recount.</p>
<p>In an interview with Barbara Walters on ABC, Mr. Gore talked about the "the organized chanting round-the-clock," and said: "Well, this was the Republican response to what was happening during that 36-day period, and they organized busloads of people that came and stood outside the house all day and all night screaming at the top of their lungs."</p>

<p>There is still a lot of confusion about vanity posts. I know that it doesn't look like it at the moment, but this forum was intended to be a place for conservatives to have somewhat serious discussions regarding government corruption and abuse and to try to discover a way to make progress toward returning to the constitutionally limited government as established by our Founders. The original idea of this forum was that our participants would post newspaper articles or other published information, or transcripts of congressional speeches, or other government or political information and then we would discuss these items. The forum was not intended to be a chatroom or comedy central. Some chat and some comedy is acceptable, but it tends to get out of control. The easiest way to control it is to restrict vanity (non-sourced) posts. If you want to take the time to write and post an informed commentary piece or a first-hand report on some newsworthy event, please do. But the short comments and rants, etc, can just as easily be posted as a reply to an existing article as was intended by our original design.</p>

An Open Letter to Jim Robinson From an Ex FReeper Jim Robinson I was willing to let the first attack of rudeness by one of your moderaters slide (I was accused of advocating bombing several nations, go figure), thought maybe this person may be having a day. But I received another rude warning just today about "abusing" your side bar, (don't even know what that meant, and still don't, never received an answer after apologizing for it). In fact, I have never received a kind word from any moderater, only those couple of nasty warnings and threats. The last thing...

Here's a big news flash y'all will probably never hear from the establishment news: The LA Times and Washington Post settled their lawsuit against the Free Republic web site. Now, for readers who do not happen to know about the Free Republic web site(1), all I can say is go look. What you will find there is the modern "Liberty Tree." That is, folks post news articles and commentary on the site and invite others to comment. Well, here's the rub: Most of the many thousands of people visiting Free Republic daily are rather conservative. Much of the published news...

I was the recipient of a very pleasant surprise when I retrieved my weekly copy of the conservative newspaper, HUMAN EVENTS, from my mailbox a few minutes ago. On page 12, in Joe D'Agostino's 'Conservative Spotlight' column, my eye was caught immediately by a black-and-white photo of Free Republic founder Jim Robinson! This is a very flattering article; Jim discusses the history of Free Republic; the mission statement; and the situation with the LAT/WP legal entanglement. Please keep in mind that HUMAN EVENTS has a subscriber base approaching 50,000, and is read by a number of quot;movers and shakersquot; in...
