BILL MAHER: I saw Howard Dean on TV the other day and he said something along the order, he said the people in ISIS -- he said I'm about as Islamic as they are, you know, distancing the vast numbers of Islamic people around the world from them. That's just not true. CHARLIE ROSE: It is true. MAHER: It is not true, Charlie. There is a connecting tissue between -- ROSE: Behind every Muslim is a future member of some radical? MAHER: Let me finish. ROSE: I was doing that. MAHER: There are illiberal beliefs that are held by vast...

Look at the map below. You'll see four regions of "Iraq and Syria" that the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" express no desire to conquer: Why is that? All four of these areas are where non-Sunni Muslims predominate. They include Southern Iraq (Shiites), Northwestern Iraq (Iraqi Kurdistan), Syria just north of Lebanon (Alawites and Shiites) and the area surrounding the Golan Heights (Druze and Shiites). So why would ISIS fight so bitterly for largely Kurdish Erbil and Mosul, yet make no claim to what is officially Kurdistan? Because Erbil and Mosul are Iraqi centers of Christendom, the real target...

The American soldier is the backbone of our liberties; the rock upon which tyranny must break. Reducing our defenses to the point of non-existence, albeit for economic gain or misguided ideology, is to leave ourselves at the mercy of malevolence. I do not subscribe to the pacifist conundrum that by burying our head in the sand, ignoring the atrocities of totalitarian states or Islamofascists, we make our country safer & the world a better place in which to reside. It is simply the equivalent of watching a rape across the street & doing nothing to stop it. Frankly, we are...

...Obama, seen here giving a speech on ISIS and Islamic terrorism last night, was photographed in a startling way. He appeared to have twin horns protruding from the sides of his head in a kind of demonic apparition.

The stakes are too high to leave the war on ISIS in the hands of a Muslim sympathizer! Barack Obama continues to be in a deep state of denial with regard to the basic nature of ISIS and Islam, despite recent decapitations and horrendous stories of murder and mayhem from Iraq and Syria. As reported: In his prime-time speech to the nation on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, President Obama vowed to “degrade and destroy” the Islamic State insurgency in Iraq and Syria with air strikes and 475 U.S. boots on the ground...

Although the topic of violence in Islam is a controversial one, Benedict XVI placed it at the center of his treatment of our knowledge of God within his often misunderstood and misrepresented Regensburg Lecture, given eight years ago, on September 12, 2006. Put simply, false views of God’s nature can lead to religiously motivated actions, such as terrorism and violent persecution, which are contrary to the nature and will of God.

As President Obama laid out his “strategy†last night for dealing with ISIS in Iraq and Syria, and as bipartisan leadership in Congress push to approve as much as $4 billion to arm the Syrian “rebels,†it should be noted that the keystone to his anti-Assad policy — the “vetted moderate†Free Syrian Army (FSA) — is now admitting that they, too, are working with the Islamic State. This confirms our reporting about the FSA’s alliances with Syrian terrorist groups here at PJ Media last week.On Monday, the Daily Star in Lebanon quoted a FSA brigade commander saying that his...

Preface A wise man named Francis Bacon once said that knowledge is power. Certainly this is true when dealing with foreign, and often hostile, ideologies that confront our Western civilization and way of life. One of these ideologies is Islam. Americans, and Westerners in general, whether Christian or not, are all too often still dangerously ill-informed about Islam. Many people in the West hear and believe the propaganda promoted by various Muslim groups, but fail to search out the facts about the history, theology, and psychology of the Islamic phenomenon. While knowledge may be power, ignorance can render a person,...

Many Americans believe that the effort by Islamic militants to recruit young men and women from the United States and Western Europe to fight on behalf of fundamentalist Islam is a recent phenomenon. However, I have personally watched many troubled people be targeted by Islamic radicals since I was a child. My experience has given me an up-close and personal look at Americans who, whether they realize it or not, are offering aid and comfort to the enemy in cities and towns all across our country.

Memories fade after 13 years. Our resolve must be reinvigorated. No substitute for mortal fear that must be sown into the hearts of our enemies. If we don’t break their will, they will certainly break ours On September 11, 2001 the forces of radical Islam perpetrated the worst domestic attack in the history of the nation. Thirteen years later, the reasons for that attack remain utterly anathema to progressive ideology. Nothing reveals the utter bankruptcy of the progressive love affair with moral relativism, non-judgmentalism and multiculturalism better than 9/11. For the briefest of moments, it became utterly impossible to convince...

Nearly six years into a presidency devoted to ending wars, President Obama on Wednesday announced he is launching a new global war against the ultra-violent al Qaeda terror group known as the Islamic State. The president’s new strategy of conducting U.S. airstrikes combined with foreign military ground operations against IS in Iraq and Syria, however, will be limited to the terror group, and lacks what analysts say is a broader ideological offensive against Islamist terror of all stripes.

In a televised address on how to address the Islamic State this evening, President Barack Obama declared the organization variously known as ISIS or ISIL to be “not Islamic.” In making this preposterous claim, Obama joins his two immediate predecessors in pronouncing on what is not Islamic. Bill Clinton called the Taliban treatment of women and children “a terrible perversion of Islam.” George W. Bush deemed that 9/11 and other acts of violence against innocents “violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith.” None of the three has any basis for such assertions. To state the obvious: As non-Muslims and...

Thirteen years after 9/11, there is one thing that virtually all our politicians, law enforcement officials, and mainstream media guardians of opinion know: that attack had nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, and neither does any other jihad terror attack, anywhere, no matter how often its perpetrators quote the Qur’an and invoke Muhammad.

President Barack Obama addressed Americans Wednesday night increasingly concerned about the threat Islamic State militants are posing in the Middle East and about their commander in chief's ability to face it. In his prime time address, the president reminded people of the uniquely brutal character of ISIS. "They execute captured prisoners," he said. "They kill children. They enslave, rape and force women into marriage. They threaten a religious minority with genocide." Despite the militant's name, the president told Americans, "ISIL is not 'Islamic.' No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL's victims have been Muslim."...

In his prime-time speech to the nation on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, President Obama vowed to “degrade and destroy” the Islamic State insurgency in Iraq and Syria with airstrikes and 475 U.S. boots on the ground – but he also made a particular point of declaring that the Islamic State terrorists “are not Islamic.” “Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not Islamic,” Obama said, speaking from the state floor of the White House residence. “No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been...

Which one does Obama care about more? He's sent Holder and company to Ferguson where one, count'em one, young adult who had just committed a strong armed robbery was shot after attacking a police officer. ISIS has killed hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent Christians and others in Iraq and Syria. The military has been telling him this would happen. Bush said it would happen back in 2007 if we didn't finish the job. And now, only now, when his opinion polls are sinking does Obama say something about ISIS. What time is tee time?

President Obama sounded like President Bush in his speech last night, ordering military strikes against ISIS. Not surprisingly the left gushed over the speech, declaring it “nuanced.” Pointless or a day late and a dollar short are more accurate descriptions. ISIS has been a growing threat for months, having been dismissed by Obama as the “JV” team. A handful of airstrikes and 475 “boots on the ground” aren’t going to deter a group like ISIS. The Nobel Peace Prize President is leading us into war. Is anyone confident it will turn out well? Perhaps the highlight of Obama’s absurd speech...
