A California school district is seeking a “support services consultant” to help unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors navigate the state's educational and support services. According to a USA Today report, the Oakland Unified School District began advertising for such a consultant this month to assist the unaccompanied minors with counseling, legal, health, and educational services. PRESCOTT - The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations team, along with the YCSO, arrested 14 people allegedly in the US illegally during the week of July 28, according to Yavapai County Sheriff Scott Mascher. ICE took them to the Camp Verde jail for processing and holding before being transferred to a federal facility, Mascher said, adding that the arrests took place at several locations in the county. More than 600 convicted criminals, including felons, were among thousands of illegal immigrants freed under the Obama administration in advance of 2013 budget cuts mandated under sequestration. A 25-year-old Troutman man is jailed and faces possible deportation proceedings after he was found inside the residence of a woman he is accused of assaulting earlier, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Gustavo Armando Hernandez is jailed under $100,000 bond, and the sheriff’s office said he is facing an immigration detainer.
