If you believe the White House, there are 30 million Americans who support a government health care takeover. But if you look at the funding behind the Obamacare campaign, it's the same few leftist billionaires, union bosses and partisan community organizers pushing the socialized medicine agenda. Let's connect the dots. On Thursday, a national grass-roots coalition called Health Care for America Now (HCAN) marched on Capitol Hill to demand universal health care. The ground troops didn't have to march very far. HCAN, you see, is no heartland network. It is headquartered at 1825 K St. NW in Washington - smack...

They led the most powerful forces in healthcare -- the trade groups representing doctors, insurance companies, hospitals and drug makers. Any one of them could stall, if not derail, President Obama's hopes of overhauling the U.S. healthcare system. Instead, they stood with Obama before TV cameras at the White House and pledged their cooperation. For Obama, the show of unity gave momentum to perhaps his most ambitious domestic goal. But the moment was a victory, as well, for another man invited to the event that morning in May. Andy Stern heads the SEIU, the union that helped corral the industry...

As the voters discover Al Gore's lies on 'global warming,' there are reports of mounting pressure from the citizens to defeat the 'cap-and-trade' energy tax bill that now moves to the Senate. Citizens inundated Washington with calls, faxes, and emails as the House debated the issue. Most Democrats still turned a deaf ear. But as the Senate readies to take up the matter, the citizens are set to stage a massive campaign to pressure Senators into voting against the bill. And they should. The entire thing is based upon lies.

Hello FreeRepublic. My name is Nathan I'm a GIS Mapping Technician in Ohio. I want to put my skills to good use in trying to restore America to its common sense roots. I created this map to show the votes of representatives on HR2454, otherwise known as Cap and Trade. If you are so inclined you can contact the representatives that voted for it and ask them to redact their votes. If you want to download the better PDF that better shows counties and congressional districts, go to my SkyDrive and download. Feel free to pass it on to anyone...

One would think that after months of complaining, and being cynical about how this trustworthy a tax-and-spend liberals could be, that Congressional Democrats could not possibly do anything that would make me more disappointed in them. But they have. The latest legislation to be bulldozed through Congress without details, no specifics, abetted by lies is to do good, feel-good legislation known as climate change. Formerly known as global warming, the name had to be changed because the science no longer backed up the propaganda. Also known as climate change caused by man, it is the latest economy wrecking bill being...

As Democrats strained to win over crucial holdouts on the way to narrow, party-line approval of global warming legislation, they were dogged by a critical question: Has the political climate changed since 1993? Veteran members of both parties vividly remember when many House Democrats, in the early months of the Clinton administration, reluctantly backed a proposed B.T.U. tax — a new levy on each unit of energy consumed — only to see it ignored by the Senate and seized as a campaign issue by Republicans, who took control of the House the next year. “A lot of Democrat members got...

The sweeping energy and global warming bill passed by the House on Friday was as complicated as it was contentious. The measure started the day at 1,200 pages -- and that was before lawmakers adopted a 300-page amendment. Here is a slimmed-down look: What are the bill's major features? The centerpiece is a "cap and trade" provision that sets limits on the greenhouse gas emissions scientists blame for global warming. The goal is to reduce emissions to 17% below 2005 levels by 2020 and more than 80% below 2005 levels by 2050. How would that work? The bill would create...

Win or lose in today's cliffhanger vote on climate change legislation, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) can be forgiven if he's already looking ahead to next week. An avid golfer with a seven handicap, Boehner is playing golf with Tiger Woods on Wednesday in the pro-am portion of the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club, hosted by the world's No. 1 ranked golfer. Named after Tiger's late father, Earl Woods, the pro-am matches up top PGA Tour pros with local celebrities and corporate executives. Leaving the House floor today lobbyists rushed to Boehner's side not to ask about the...

Betrayed by Congress with the Cap-and-Trade Bill South Orange, NJ Saturday, June 27, 2009 By Alan Caruba Mark it on your calendar, June 26, 2009 was the date that the House of Representatives betrayed every American in the name of saving the nation and the Earth from global warming. It was the day that 219 Representative voted for the obscenely misnamed "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009" Only eight Republican members of the House voted for it and 44 Democrats voted against it. The bill, some 1,200 pages, was not read by those men and women voting on...

The time for a nationwide protest against our “lawmakers” has come—I am no longer referring to them as our representatives as they have stopped representing We-the-People. The volume of calls placed on Friday to the US Capitol switchboard and our Congressional Reps again shut it down and voice mailboxes were full. The calls placed were reported to be 10-1 AGAINST Obama‘s and Pelosi’s plan to raise energy prices to we the consumers by at least 100% and in most cases 150-200%. Despite We-the-People (now We-the-Peons) telling the House of Representatives to vote “NO”, after reportedly being strong-armed and threatened by...

(06-27) 04:00 PDT Washington - -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke time and again of preserving "God's beautiful creation" as she mustered all the skills she learned, at her father's knee in Baltimore and in San Francisco's liberal salons, to muscle sweeping climate change legislation to narrow passage Friday. Pushing for the vote while uncertain she would win it was the highest-stakes decision of the San Francisco Democrat's career. President Obama, joined by former Vice President and greenhouse guru Al Gore, worked the phones to woo the backing of reluctant Democrats from coal states, farm states, manufacturing states and poor...

....The Republican opposition ranged from the denial that there is any proof that greenhouse gasses cause global warming. There are others who interpreted the bill as just another tax on Americans. The usual Republican crowd chanted that it will destroy the American industrial base and force American companies to move abroad where there are no such limitations.

Conservative bloggers are already up in arms. Michelle Malkin has put up a "WANTED" poster...

WASHINGTON – Congress has taken its first step toward an energy revolution, with the prospect of profound change for every household, business, industry and farm in the decades ahead. It was late Friday when the House passed legislation that would, for the first time, require limits on pollution blamed for global warming — mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels. Now the Senate has the chance to change the way Americans produce and use energy. What would the country look like a decade from now if the House-passed bill — or, more likely, a water-down version — were to become...

Pelosi: ‘Remember These Four Words For What This Legislation Means: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, and Jobs.’ Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi addressed the House floor this evening on the American Clean Energy and Security Act. She commended the work and leadership of Chairmen Henry Waxman, Ed Markey, Charles Rangel, and Collin Peterson. The bill passed in the House by a vote of 219 to 212. On the floor, the Speaker said: “No matter how long this Congress wants to talk about it, we cannot hold back the future. And so, in order to move on with the future, I want...

By now you've heard the news: the House has passed the cap & trade bill that will saddle Americans with thousands of dollars in new taxes, fees and costs each year. It's just the latest big government, quasi-socialistic policy that the Obama/Pelosi/Reid team are trying to force through in their efforts to remake America into a nation that our Founding Fathers wouldn't recognize. Today there will be protests all across the nation against this measure - and the Our Country Deserves Better Committee will be having our staff, leadership and supporters out joining the resistance against these un-American leftist policies....

Despite indications that much of President Obama’s agenda is meeting intra-party skepticism all over Capitol Hill, there is one policy nexus where congressional leaders are still doggedly determined to move the country left: energy and the environment. Speaker Pelosi will reportedly allow a vote on the controversial Waxman-Markey “cap-and-trade” legislation at the end of this week. And it gets even better. Not content to tempt political fate by imposing huge carbon taxes on the American middle class, Democrats have added a provision which imposes stiff tariffs on our trading partners if they don’t adopt aggressive carbon restrictions of their own....

Saturday, June 27, 2009 Cap & Tax: Nobody Read It ... Because It Doesn't Exist [Andy McCarthy] Nobody could have read the bill the House passed last night because there is no bill. There apparently wasn't time to pull together a finished product that accounted for the hundreds of pages of amendments because of Pelosi's headlong rush to slam this lunacy through before anybody had a chance to learn what was actually in it. So there is no "it" that all the pages and pages of words can be found "in." Democrats have passed a concept — not a bill. John Hinderaker...

House votes to enrich General Electric and other U.S. Climate Action Partnership members at Public's Expense The House of Representatives just passed the Waxman-Markey "climate change" bill, whose real purpose is to enrich the U.S. Climate Action Partnership: a consortium of self-serving corporations like General Electric, General Motors, and Chrysler, and nonprofits like the Sierra Club that have to find some way to pay their executives and staffs without delivering tangible manufactured products or other items of value to society. It has been reported that Nancy Pelosi "persuaded" undecided Democrats by offering them pork barrel projects, again at the expense...

Most people know that New Jersey is only second to California for financial trouble. First term Congressman Leonard Lance who lives in one of the most affluent areas of New Jersey, Hunterdon County was an unsuccessful lawyer in Clinton New Jersey and practiced under the wing of his father a useless State Senator. Lance has betrayed Republicans by casting the deciding vote for the cap-and-trade bill. He certainly did not listen to his constituents. Lance needs to be targeted and thrown out of office in 2010.

Nancy Pelosi is once again trying to ram another socialist bill down our throats by forcing a vote today on Cap and Tax(HR2998). This bill will create more expansion of government, raise electric rates 90%, gasoline prices by 74%, and natural gas prices by 55% after adjusting for inflation. It will reduce aggregate Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by $9.6 trillion. It is essentially a major tax on the American people. The latest version of this bill has ballooned to more than 1200 pages! We need to pour it on folks! Hammer and flood your Reps with emails, faxes and phone...
