Nobody should celebrate the announcement that Attorney General Eric Holder will be leaving the administration this year. Whoever replaces Holder will be just as radical and ideological. What the replacement will enjoy, however, is a clean slate. Some will naively assume a new attorney general means a fresh start and an attorney general better than Holder. Don’t fool yourself. The best thing that could happen for President Obama is for Holder to go and be replaced by someone just like him. He’ll get the good without the bad. Holder’s replacement will be just as radical as Holder. We’ve seen it...

Attorney General Eric Holder, long besieged by accusations of corruption and outright felonious behavior, has stated that he may step down in 2014 as the nation’s top alleged law enforcer. In an article with the New Yorker’s Jeffrey Toobin, Holder admitted that he intends to stay “well into” 2014, but in doing so, has once again fueled speculation that the Attorney General will be stepping down by year’s end. The Justice Department has worked to downplay the rumors and Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted, “Actually, most he said was he planned to stay well into ’14.” However, it seems...

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will step down this year, he said in an interview with the New Yorker’s Jeffrey Toobin in the magazine’s Feb. 17 edition. In a feature article, Mr. Holder said he plans on staying in his position “well into” the year. Last November, Mr. Holder, the first black attorney general, told CBS News he didn’t have “any plans” to step down.

The National Border Patrol Council, which represents all 17,000 of the agency's nonsupervisory agents, called Monday for the resignation of Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. for his role in the botched "Fast and Furious" gunrunning operation that resulted in the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent. Council President George E. McCubbin III, a 25-year Border Patrol veteran, described Mr. Holder's actions in the case as "a slap in the face to all Border Patrol agents who serve this country," adding that the attorney general showed "an utter failure of leadership at the highest levels of government." Two semi-automatic...

Senator John Cornyn, (R-TX) called on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing today in Washington. CORNYN: You’ve violated the public trust in my view by failing to perform the duties of your office. So, Mr. Attorney General it is with more sorrow than with regret and anger that I would say you leave me with no alternative but to join those who call on you to resign your office… HOLDER: Senator, with all due respect there is so much wrong with the premises that you started your statement with it’s almost breathtaking in its...

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) denounced President Obama for refusing to comment on a controversial gun-tracking program that is under investigation. Issa, who is the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said Obama did not express the necessary “urgency” that is called for in investigating who approved of the “Fast and Furious” operation, which may have contributed to the death of at least one federal agent. At a press conference Wednesday, Obama reiterated that Attorney General Eric Holder did not order the gun-tracking program, which was run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and...
