In the second round of the impeachment hearings, Rep. Stefanik called out Adam Schiff to his face for blocking any questioning of the Whistleblower. This is after Schiff himself said we need to hear from the whistleblower.

I appreciate the GOP for at least putting on a show yesterday at Adam Schiff's private party. However, there is a better way to tackle this... hold hearings of your own. Adam Schiff may be the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee... but doesn't the GOP have the Senate and a Judiciary Committee of theirr own? If the GOP truly wants to win (which is often in doubt) they should convene the Senate Judiciary Committee and call each witness to testify after Adam Schiff is done with them. Let their questioning and testimony be done in public. Don't like secret...

Hearings in tent courts in South Texas are underway for asylum-seekers forced to wait in Mexico while their immigration applications are considered. Monday's hearings mark the formal opening of the courts. Twenty-one migrants lined up in Mexico to cross the border for their appearances. Officials say they want 200 migrants appear each day in the tents in Laredo. A judge in a brick courthouse in San Antonio is presiding over the Laredo court via video chat.

Even though it’s been about a year since the last public meeting on the Interstate 49 Connector in Lafayette, the project isn’t dead, or even dormant. Louisiana Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson told The Acadiana Advocate on Monday things are happening to move the 5-mile section of interstate toward the federal Record of Decision needed to secure funding and start construction. The ideas and plans presented at public hearings over the past two years are being worked on, he said, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is drawing up a contract extension for the consultants working on the project....

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 KJV How anyone can have the slightest amount of sympathy for the Muleteam is a mystery. He had absolutely no sympathy for anybody in front of his fifty million not so silent coup attempt complete with SWAT team arrests to humiliate his victims. He may have played the doddering old fool routine to a T, but...

Congressional hearings are a fixture in Washington and are supposedly a tool for investigation by the nation's lawmaking body. Unfortunately, too often when Democrats are in charge, it's not the case. Rather than hearings being a means for seeking facts and information, they become a platform just for politicking by members of the majority party and a forum for attacking those whose views they don't like. This distortion of process was in full view at recent House Budget Committee hearings on Poverty in America: Economic Realities of Struggling Families. Of eight witnesses, six were from the same left-wing organization --...

Retired NFL Super Bowl champion-turned community leader Burgess Owens on Wednesday slammed a proposal to study reparations for slavery and instead proposed that the Democrat Party pay for “all the misery” brought upon African-Americans. “I used to be a Democrat until I did my history and found out the misery that that party brought to my race… Let’s pay restitution. How about the Democratic Party pay for all the misery brought to my race.”

Admittedly, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has been a bit of an enigma since POTUS Donald Trump was elected president. Graham faced off against Trump in the GOP primaries in 2016 but never drew the kind of support that would land him in contention. And for that period of time, he seemed very solidly in the camp of his long-time friend the late Sen. John McCain (RINO-Ariz.), who was so #NeverTrump he made sure the FBI had a copy of the “Steele Dossier” everyone knew was political oppo research by the Clinton campaign and, thus, garbage. But then Graham did a...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democrats are doubtful Andrew Weissmann, a key prosecutor in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, will be called to testify this week on the origins of the probe.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y, did something Wednesday that Americans have not seen since Sen. Joseph McCarthy, R-Wis., threw democracy aside, running roughshod over rules, fellow members of Congress and due process in the 1950s. Nadler ignored House rules, dismissed Republican motions and refused 40 attempts to permit committee debate, regular order and amendments so he could get the Democratic majority on the committee to impose the unreasonable requirement that Attorney General Barr be questioned by a Democratic and a Republican attorney when he was scheduled to testify Thursday morning.

Former U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy is not a fan of splashy, big-name congressional hearings — including, in hindsight, his own. The former S.C. congressman labeled his Benghazi panel’s questioning of Hillary Clinton an “unmitigated failure” Monday on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends,” where Gowdy is a contributor. Gowdy said he was unimpressed with last week’s high-profile testimony by former Trump attorney Michael Cohen to a U.S. House panel.

I often wonder who didn’t love Donald Trump. I often wonder who left an affection void that he has tried to fill by winning attention, which is not the same thing. He’s turned his life into a marketing strategy. As Michael Cohen said in his testimony on Wednesday, even the presidential campaign was a marketing campaign to build the Trump brand. In turning himself into a brand he’s turned himself into a human shell, so brittle and gilded that there is no place for people close to him to attach. His desperate attempts to be loved have made him unable...

Bloomberg News reports that the House Judiciary Committee, which is currently led by Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), will seek to investigate Trump calling the media “fake news” and “enemies of the people.” “The committee will study whether such actions either reflect or blur the Constitution’s separation The president’s repeated declarations that the “fake news” media is the “enemy of the people” has indeed upset many Democrats and media figures. Possible 2020 hopeful and media darling Beto O’Rourke used the line to attack Trump and Republicans in 2018, accusing him of inciting violence against the media. “This idea fronted by the president...

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and her testimony against then-Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh in September dominated the news cycle, with her every word scrutinized by both sides of the political aisle and the media. Since the hearings, Ford has been mostly silent. Ford released a statement on a GoFundMe page collecting donations for her last week. The page was created on Sept. 18 with an initial goal of $150,000. It has raised nearly $650,000 on her behalf. "Words are not adequate to thank all of you who supported me since I came forward to tell the Senate that I...

Democrats boycotted Wednesday’s hearing on another slate of President Trump’s judicial nominees, continuing their attempts to hinder Republicans’ plans to stock the courts with an army of conservative judges. The Judiciary Committee heard from four nominees, including two picks for the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, one of the most liberal panels in the country and long a target for Republicans who complain of activist liberal judges. Wednesday’s boycott is the second in a row after Democrats refused to show for a hearing last week on other court picks. Democrats say it is unprecedented to hold hearings on judges...

Thanks to the US Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court, America and the world learned why you do not want to see how to make political sausage. It is dirty and nasty, especially when it is hot and spicy. It reminds me of that song that says, "there ain’t no good guys, there ain’t no bad guys, there's only you and me and we just disagree.” Republicans failed to advance the fact-finding process by sticking with their talking points that 1) FBI investigations do not mean squat in these matters;...

There Are No ‘Credible Allegations’ Against Kavanaugh Defense Department Fails to Implement Biosecurity Years After It Said It Would A Sensible Plan to Keep Schools Safe A Terrorist Resides in Arizona Four Years after U.S. Grants Refugee Status There Are No ‘Credible Allegations’ Against Kavanaugh Leftists are trying to kick the Senate confirmation for a Supreme Court nominee down field and past the November elections. They have shown they will do so at any cost. While compelling emotionally, Ms. Ford has no witnesses and no facts to back up her story. There was no legitimate reason the allegations were...
