  • A couple good documentaries if you are looking for something non-mindless to watch

    06/26/2015 6:20:21 PM PDT · by Secret Agent Man · 24 replies
Since a lot of people talk about various personal health issues here for a number of reasons, I wanted to pass along two documentaries I watched recently and thought have good information for people to review. First, is one called "Fat Head". It is done by a science writer that basically refutes the "Supersize Me" documentary. It discusses how a high carb, low fat and protein diet is the cause of obesity in America, and it's exactly what the government and health groups are demanding people follow to "get healthy". It gives an excellent easy understanding of why this does...
  • The Political John Roberts

The Chief Justice again rewrites ObamaCare in order to save it.For the second time in three years, Chief Justice John Roberts has rewritten the Affordable Care Act in order to save it. Beyond its implications for health care, the Court’s 6-3 ruling in King v. Burwell is a landmark that betrays the Chief’s vow to be “an umpire,” not a legislator in robes. He stands revealed as a most political Justice. The black-letter language of ObamaCare limits insurance subsidies to “an Exchange established by the State.” But the Democrats who wrote the bill in 2010 never imagined that 36 states...
  • SCOTUS grants Obama another gift, ignores the English language to uphold ObamaCare subsidies

A big win for people who hate the fact that words have meanings. SCOTUS grants Obama another gift, ignores the English language to uphold ObamaCare subsidiesAnd that’s that. Obama, as usual, gets his way. It was predictable, really. Having abandoned the meaning of words within the English language, the Supreme Court is now free to ignore the actual text of laws and pretend things were written that never were. As the AP reports: The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the nationwide tax subsidies under President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, in a ruling that preserves health insurance for millions of...

The homofascist movement has claimed another innocent victim. As Brian Camenker of MassResistance reports: On March 30, a major Harvard-affiliated hospital in Boston, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), expelled a well-respected urologist from its medical staff because he voiced concerns about the unhealthy nature of homosexual behavior and objected to the hospital's aggressive promotion of "gay pride" activities.Dr. Paul Church has been a urologist on the BIDMC staff in Boston for nearly 30 years. He is a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty. He has done research on diagnosing prostate and bladder cancer, and has been a frequent...
  • Sorry, stoners: New study shows ‘medical’ marijuana doesn’t actually help with anything

Which, of course you all knew, since you only pretended to think otherwise so you could get high without the pigs harshing your mellow. Honestly, if you ever believed the nonsense that marijuana was “medicine,” you probably don’t have the brain capacity to process the information I’m about to give you. Then again, there’s dumb and there’s willfully delusional. You can have the ability to know better, but choose to embrace nonsense anyway because you want so desperately to get high. I’d say that still makes you an idiot. Just that you’re an idiot by choice. At any rate, you...
  • How have so many Loons escaped the left’s abortion industry?

According to numbers taken from the Guttmacher Institute and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), some 53 million legal abortions were performed between 1973 and 2013 (inclusive). This number is an approximation as California, New Hampshire and Maryland have refused to supply state abortion numbers during recent years. It is known that the number of abortions has declined over the past several years, for example, from 1.31 million in 2000 to about 984,000 in 2013. Though liberals are undoubtedly distraught that, in a year to year comparison, nearly 300,000 escaped the convenience of wholesale genetic profiling, a few unadulterated whack-jobs...

PharmedOut is a Georgetown University Medical Center project that advances evidence-based prescribing, and educates healthcare professionals about pharmaceutical marketing practices. Founded in January, 2007, it is an Internet-based alternative for doctors seeking Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses, not sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry. Inasmuch as the industry derives its greatest profits from new proprietary drugs, it has a built-in tendency to tout them, even though newer is not always better. One example, cited at the time of PharmedOut’s founding, came from Georgetown Ob-Gyn doctor Anthony Scialli: “Take oral contraceptives. Over the years they have increased in number, but there haven’t...

But doctors give him a good chance of beating it Very shocking news out of Annapolis yesterday, as Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan - who was just elected this past November - announced that he has a “very advanced and very aggressive” form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. But the good news, which should serve as the basis of hopeful and confident prayers on the part of many, is that Hogan’s doctors actually give him a good chance of beating it. Below is a seven-minute clip from yesterday’s press conference in which Hogan himself made the announcement. Hogan is 59, and he’s going...

Are you so gullible as to place your faith in the credibility of the current White House? If so, you might have to find yourself end up eating crow and apologizing to the skeptics for your gullibility as happened to Bloomberg Politics managing editor Mark Halperin on Morning Joe today. Halperin's apology came on the heels of a report yesterday in the Wall Street Journal that despite previous White House denials, it actually had quite extensive contacts with Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber. Here are some of the details that made Halperin feel foolish for placing his blind faith in the White House:

Coach is Right has written extensively about the Affordable Care Act—ObamaCare—from its initial, unconstitutional passage by a Democrat controlled congress, through the disgraceful 2012 Supreme Court ruling which featured the inexplicable treachery of Chief Justice John Roberts. Sometime during the next week the Court will decide King v Burwell, a case which will determine whether the United States and the American people may still depend upon the Constitution to defend their liberty and rights from the unlawful schemes of a tyrant. On June 17th, CiR asked whether the Supreme Court would deliver one last ruling in defense of the illegal...

Imagine this: you're gushing blood. Nothing seems to make it stop. Then you apply a gel to your wound, and within seconds, the bleeding stops. In minutes, you're healed. This is the premise of VetiGel, an algae-based polymer created by Joe Landolina — a 22 year-old who invented the product when he was just 17. Landolina is now the co-founder and CEO of Suneris, a biotech company that manufactures the gel. Last week, Suneris announced that it will begin shipping VetiGel to veterinarians later this summer. Humans won't be far behind. When injected into a wound site, the gel can...

This is the latest I have from FReeper lilyramone regarding her daughter's ongoing health condition. You may recall they were having a family reunion the last time I updated. Their son is traveling with family members for summer vacation so he can be away from all the necessary routine in caring for Sophia. He was at the reunion but as you can see, Sophia was pretty upset at his leaving again. It's great that she can enjoy the swimming pool and perhaps this will be an unexpected improvement in her therapy. lilyramone is grateful for everyone's prayers and I am...
  • Obama's 'King v. Burwell' Speech Displayed The Very Ideological Fervor That Led Him To Break The Law

In a case called King v. Burwell, the Supreme Court will soon decide whether it agrees with two lower courts that President Obama is breaking the law by subjecting 57 million employers and individuals to illegal taxes, and spending the illegal proceeds to hide the cost of HealthCare.gov coverage from 6.5 million enrollees. Today the president delivered a speech designed to cow the Supremes into turning a blind eye to the law. Instead, he offered what for some is the missing piece of the King v. Burwell puzzle. He displayed the very ideological fervor that leads powerful people to break...

In a rather self-serving review article entitled “A historical perspective on the discovery of statins,” Japanese biochemist Akira Endo hits all the conventional and PC notes in his 10-page (including references) trip down memory lane. From the get-go, in the abstract itself he tells us that… “Cholesterol is essential for the functioning of all human organs, but it is nevertheless the cause of coronary heart disease. Building on that knowledge, scientists and the pharmaceutical industry have successfully developed a remarkably effective class of drugs–the statins–that lower cholesterol levels in blood and reduce the frequency of heart attacks.” We would expect...

One step forward . . . Since the only real policy fights concerning abortion anymore are the ones fought in courtrooms - and nothing is ever really decided until the Supreme Court makes a decision in some manner - the past week’s outcomes of two major state cases give us a sense of what passes muster and what doesn’t as states who are so inclined seek to put restrictions on the procedure. Yes, Texas, you can make abortion clinics adhere to the same standards as every other type of “medical” facility, lest we end up with more Kermit Gosnell stories:...

TWEET ON LINK Kelsey Abbott, whose Twitter page says she writes for Uncle Grandpa on Cartoon Network, tweeted this, “If I ever accidentally have a baby, I’m gonna dress it in a dog costume so hopefully my dog will raise it. #plannedparenthood” According to the Cartoon Network, Uncle Grandpa is everyone on Earth’s magical uncle AND grandpa, who travels around helping people and changing their lives forever. VIDEO ON LINK The show is obviously not intended for the very young and is rated PG. Common Sense...

I'm serious. Are you done yet? Are you ready to grab the wood, the nails, the hammer and the rope? Are you ready to demand that this crap -- all of it in the medical system -- be stopped? All of it -- not some of it, all of it. Monopolist practices, refusal to disclose prices before services are rendered, billing $157 worth of a nutritional supplement out for more than $44,000 and more? WHEN IS YOUR TOLERANCE LIMIT REACHED AMERICA? WHEN? Is it before or after you're financially and personally decimated? Why do you tolerate "Obamacare" or "Medicare" when...

I had a conversation with Rep. Austin Scott last Friday about the new Republican proposed health care legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare. The legislation is so sweeping that there were really too many topics to cover in one interview, but I believe we hit the important parts.Obamacare is potentially in trouble, with the Supreme Court set to announce its decision of the key King v. Burwell case that threatens to unravel Obama’s health care legacy. Many, including Rep. Scott, think this is a good thing, and the Republicans stand ready to enact their own health care plan. This is part 1 of...

While ISIS continues to dominate the Middle East, Christians continue to be beheaded, Iran develops its nuclear bomb and secret trade Javelin 1976agreements are being pushed through Congress, all media attention is directed elsewhere.
