A 28-year-old man who suffered from postoperative pain was convinced that he could heal himself through swimming in cold water. Through this technique, he was able to cure his pain when nothing else worked. His experience and the associated report are published in the BMJ Case Reports. The man behind this story is 28 years old. While suffering from excessive facial redness, he underwent an operation (endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy) that cut off the triggering nerves in his chest. Although the operation went perfectly, he subsequently suffered severe and...

Public spaces such as subways, suburban trains, schools, or waiting rooms are breading grounds for germs that - especially in the fall and winter - contribute enormously to the spread of influenza and other types of viruses. Like many other illnesses, the flu is transmitted via droplet infections. That is, when talking, coughing, and sneezing infected individuals spray tiny droplets into common airspace, putting those around them at risk. For a long time, scientists have been looking for ways to keep the air in public spaces "germ-free" - without endangering people with harmful chemicals. Researchers at the University of Columbia...

Texas teacher named Heather Holland, aged 38, died of complications from the flu after she decided to give up medical treatment because she considered the 116 dollar Tamiflu "too expensive." The complications from flu-like disease led a 38-year-old teacher to the hospital where she died after a septic shock. The cost of the medicine that was prescribed is $116. Heather Holland, of Weatherford, Texas, reportedly fell ill last Monday and two days later was diagnosed with the flu. According to Fox News, doctors prescribed Tamiflu, an antiviral drug that costs approximately $116. However, according to a statement by Holland's husband...

Retiring Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards urged abortion supporters to "fight back against the moralists who threaten women's freedom." She pointed to "a few bright spots we've seen in recent weeks that should encourage our faith in the ultimate victory of our cause." "First there was the virtually unanimous vote by House Democrats against requiring abortionists to render medical aid to infants who survive the procedure," Richards recounted. "This nonsensical Republican attempt to impose their own notion of what they call 'common human decency' would completely negate the purpose of the procedure. The mother came for the express purpose of...

The Bustamante Hospital For Children (BHC) yesterday received $100 million from the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation, meeting the target that conceptualiser and founder, Orville 'Shaggy' Burrell, announced last year. Addressing the launch of the Shaggy and Friends Concert last December, the international icon and philanthropist had indicated that he was confident that the charity event, which was held in January, could generate the funds being targeted. Through his Make A Difference Foundation, the entertainer has used the proceedings to purchase hundreds of pieces of vital equipment for the BHC. In 2016, more than 450 pieces of equipment were purchased...

While the rest of us were popping champagne to celebrate the arrival of 2018, Seattle greeted the New Year with a 1.75 cent per ounce tax on sweetened beverages. It was needed, former Mayor Ed Murray once said, for a host of noble reasons: to reduce sugar consumption; to raise revenue for important projects like a year of “free” community college for all graduating public high school students; and, to subsidize purchases of healthy foods by low-income families. Before he resigned in disgrace over multiple allegations of personal misconduct, Murray considered the soda tax one of his greatest accomplishments, a “cutting...

After long hours marching in the streets on behalf of women’s rights, men apparently kept the movement going by searching for “feminist” porn instead of old-fashioned, regular porn, when they got home. Newsweek reports PornHub’s data analysis found that after the Women’s March, people searched for two porn categories: “female-friendly” porn and “feminist” porn. According to the PornHub data page, searches for the word “feminist” increased by 287 percent on the day of the march. The results also claim men were 42 percent more likely to be searching for feminist porn than women, which means seeing women with signs about...

Washington, D.C. – Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, plans to step down after more than a decade.Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America, had this to say: “Under the leadership of Cecile Richards, Planned Parenthood has grown to push one agenda – abortion above all else – while throwing aside any inkling of actual medical care. Cancer screenings and STD testing have all declined under her reign.“Under Cecile’s leadership, Planned Parenthood has been exposed for refusing to report statutory rape and abuse, for aiding sex traffickers, for taking money to abort black babies, and for illegally...

While we’ve had over fifty Super Bowls with each accompanied by a more frenzied, fantastic wave of hype and mass marketing than the last, there is an annual event that is actually closing the gap on the NFL’s crown jewel when it comes to over-the-top hyper-marketing and product merchandising to Americans.Enter: The Flupocalypse. Each year it just gets bigger and bigger, with literally billions on the line as vaccine companies look to seize every opportunity to further their narrative that “vaccines are safe and effective, we should all vaccinate ourselves and our children, and anyone not getting with the State/Corporate program...

It rained in Chicagoland last night. That may not sound particularly exceptional, but it’s mid-January, and it’s been very cold lately; we usually get our precipitation in the form of nice fluffy snow this time of year. But it rained – hard – and that caused the night crawlers, gasping for breath, to climb out of the ground and slither onto our sidewalks and pavements, to escape drowning in the waterlogged soil. And we humans, being nice folks who never want to take another life without cause, watch our step, as we walk to and from our cars. We try...

So let's set priorities rather than setting off panics Flu fear is in the air! Emergency rooms are swamped. Sore throat? Nasal congestion? Get thee to the hospital! Now! We know we should believe this because the media tell us so. The hype: “Get Ready, Some Medical Experts Are Predicting the Worst Flu Season In History,” declares a CNBC headline. “Here’s Why the Flu Is Especially Bad This Year,” says Time. “Five Things You Should Know About This Year’s Very Bad Flu,” proclaims The Washington Post. We repeatedly hear of “deadly flu” and are told in dire terms that over...

The Trump Administration is crafting new regulations that would reverse Obama Administration rules compelling doctors to perform abortions. The Department of Health and Human Services will establish a division of "conscience and religious freedom protections" within its Office for Civil Rights. Under the new rules, medical personnel could refuse to participate in procedures that violate their faith or conscience. Adora Slaughter, spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, called the reversal "a betrayal of the rights granted to women by the Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade decision and actualized by President Obama's Affordable Care Act. A woman who wants to...

This week President Donald Trump underwent a full physical exam carried out by Dr. Ronny Jackson. Unusually, the exam included a test of cognitive abilities. The Doctor, who pronounced his patient to be in good health, was then subjected to a barrage of questions, 80 in all, from the media. A few are shown below. NBC News reporter Hallie Jackson wondered “isn’t Mr. Trump is too fat to be president? I mean, he’s no Obama. He doesn’t shoot hoops. He looks fat to me. Doesn’t he look fat to you?” “The tests we conducted were aimed to objectively measure important...

Let’s see how many CNN stars drop with a heart attack or are led off to mental health institutions in the next “3-5 years”. It’s not a CNN ‘prediction’ that President Donald Trump will have a heart attack in “3-5 years”, it’s their wicked, undying wish. It was predictable that CNN would rush to air their bitter disappointment when White House Dr. Danny Jackson gave the president a clean bill of health.

Please lift my parents up in prayer for their healing; my dad had a dangerous duodenal ulcer bleed, which was fixed but also had a slight heart attack for which he underwent a heart catheterization yesterday. He also has terrible pain despite a cervical bone spur removal and fusion almost a year ago. My mother has damage from past multiple lung infections and has lost a tremendous amount of weight, recently from stress and long-term from insomnia. They are the most loving, meek and precious souls a child could have, and serve the Lord as mighty as Moses and true...

Well I must tell you what has happened. Sophia's surgery is in eight days and about a week ago I asked if she wanted anything for the trip to Boston. She said she wanted me to get the entire world to pray for her on the day of the surgery. I started making calls, sending emails, and it is starting to happen!! Our congressman Jodey Arrington went on tv to tell her he is praying! He sent her the most beautiful private video last night that made me cry. This man is a worthy leader in politics as he is...
  • AIDS denialists ‘clearly ahead’ as Russian govt struggles with HIV epidemic

The number of new HIV/AIDS cases is on the rise in Russia, with less than half of the 900,000 HIV-positive people receiving treatment. The movement denying the deadly disease’s very existence is gathering pace too. Although the number of newly-diagnosed and AIDS-related deaths continue shrinking worldwide, the opposite is happening in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, with Russia accounting for almost two thirds of new contractions in the region. "For quite a long while, for five years, not nearly enough attention has been paid to the HIV/AIDS issue. There has not been enough funding,” director of the Federal HIV Research...
  • Why Doctors Should Not Ask Their Patients About Guns

Should doctors ask patients if they own guns? Currently, ObamaCare bans the federal government from using patient medical records to compile a list of gun owners. But following the Newtown, CT shootings, President Obama issued an executive order clarifying that “the Affordable Care Act [ObamaCare] does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.” The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) similarly encourages physicians to ask patients if they own firearms — in the name of protecting child safety. As a physician, I consider this advice misguided.
